LOGINChapter 4
EDEN The glass doors of the server room hiss shut behind me, locking with a sharp click. My hips still ached from where Asher's finger had dug in my skin, a good kind of ache. But the threat of the security footage hanging over my head like a sword, I had only a few hours left, before the midnight deadline. I took a deep breath, flexing my fingers trying to steady my hands, while walking towards the dorms, I need a locked door between me and the rest of the school, to gather my thoughts. When I pushed open my dorm room door, I expected to find my roommate Maya studying. Instead, the room was a mess. Books were scattered, and Maya was hovering nervously near the small bathroom door with her shoulders tensed. Killian Cross was sitting on my unmade bed. He was leaning back on his elbows, casually tossing my worn copy of my notebook in the air and catching it, his uniform jacket was unbuttoned, and his boots were kicked off onto my rug. My chest tightened. "What are you doing in here, Killian?" He wasn't even startled, he just tilted his head, his chaotic hazel eyes warming when they met mine. His scent was different from the other two, cinnamon and warm vanilla, soft and lacking that crushing, suffocating weight of Jaxon's dominant scent. "Maya, give us a minute, will you?" Killian said, his tone surprisingly polite, a gentle contrast to his usual mocking smirk. Maya didn't need to be told twice. She scurried past me and slipped out onto the hallway , not even bothering to shut the door. "You shouldn't be in here," I said, peeking out the door before shutting it. "This is the slave dorm." "I'm an Elite,Pet. Rules are suggestions for me." Killian said, standing up from my bed, and walking over to me. He didn’t corner me against the wood, he stopped two feet away from me. Then reached into his jacket pocket pulling out a small glass vial with a shimmering ointment. "For your face." What's wrong with my face, staring at the vial in his hand."What is it?" "High grade salve," he said, taking my hand and placing it into my palm, his skin was incredibly warm. "It'll take the bruising down on your chin in a few minutes, Jaxon has a heavy grip, when he is angry." My fingers tightened around the glass. "Why are you helping me? Your friends wants to kill me or ruin me." Killian's playful smirk faded. His gaze dropped to my chin, his eyes flashing with a sudden anger that looked completely out of place on his friendly face. He took one more step in my direction, his thumb reaching out, lightly brushing the edge of my bruised chin. A soft, tingling warmth bloomed where he touched me. "Because my wolf has omega tendencies, Eden." Killian whispered, his voice dropping, sounding like it was made for just my ears. "I feel things, when Jaxon and Asher feel pain, or anger, or even...lust, I feel an echo of it, when Jaxon knew, we all knew. And I just discovered I don't like seeing you hurt." Getting hold of myself. "So you're just reacting to a biological glitch." I muttered, pulling my face back from his touch. "Maybe," Killian said, slipping his hands into his pockets and stepping back. "But you shouldn’t go to the lab tonight," "How did you know about that?" Ignoring me he continued. "Asher's obsession with control makes him very dangerous, he doesn't know how to compromise if you will. He only knows how to break things until they fit his standards." " He has the security footage," I said, the truth slipping out of me, before I could stop it. " If I don't go, he'll upload it. The whole school will know about....." i hold myself back from blurting the truth about kia. Killian's expressions went dead serious. "If Asher or Jaxon claims you tonight, if he uses that threat to force the bond, I'll know and feel every second of it. The traid bond is a curse, Eden. Don’t go to him, let me handle Asher." He stepped past me, his shoulders brushed mine and opened my dorm door, pausing without looking back at me. "Keep the salve." He walks out, I stand in the center of my room, holding the cool balm in my hands, my phone buzzing in my pocket, jerks me out of my thoughts. An Anonymous link from an unlisted number I tap it. And it's a five second video of my hands touching the vial and the liquid instantly turns into pure white vapor, below the video is a digital timer ticking. 5:42:32 5:42:31 My finger and hands shake as it dawns on me that I have to choose, choose between the boy who is nice to me, or walk into the trap set by the one who got away.EDEN As I stepped into the tech wing at 11:59PMThe room was dead quiet, lit only by the low glow of the monitors, liquid cooling pipes humming beneath the floors.Asher stood inside the glass - walled quarantine chamber, his black silk sleeves rolled up to his elbows. On the wall monitor behind him, a digital clock ticked down the last 3 seconds.00:00:0200:00:0100:00:00The heavy magnetic locks engaged with a sounding thud, locking us in."You're on time," Asher says, not looking up from his phone."Delete the file, Asher." I said, staying three paces back from him. "I'm here, now delete it."He set his phone down on a metal table, reached into his pocket, pulled out a sealed wipe, and tore it open.He stood up and started walking towards me, as i struggled not to walk back, his cold grey eyes fixed on my face. Before I could move, his fingers caught my jaw. His grip tight , his fingertips cold.He dragged the wet wipe across my chin, rubbing it hard enough to sting, scrubbing aw

EDENThe metal handle of the locked door was cold as I grabbed it to stay upright.Jaxon didn't move from his desk, he slowly pulled his black gloves back over his shaky fingers, burying the skin that had caused my whole world to come crumbling. His breathing was heavy, the fabric of his white button- down shirt rising and falling in uneven counts. The three of us. The words bounced around my head, loud and chaotic."Explain it," I demanded, forcing my voice to stop shaking. "How does a default and an orphan belong to the three top Alphas? That's not how pack law works."Jaxon smoothed the leather over his knuckles. The cold professor mask was back, but his eyes remained dangerously dark. "You don't need to understand pack law, Eden. You just need to know your place. If you speak of this to anyone, I'll have you removed from the academy before your next class.""You're protecting your own ego," I spat, the sarcasm returning as my panic turned to heat. "Can't have the grand disciplinar
EDENHe walked out, leaving me to clean up my mess. The faculty corridor was long and quiet, my hands were tingling a faint white residue clinging to the damp wool of my sweater sleeves.I took three steps down the hall before a shadow blocked my path.Killian Cross was leaning against a row of lockers, his ankles crossed. He tilted his head, his hazel eyes locking onto mine with an erratic gleam. The sharp scent of his aura hit me first with cinnamon and burnt sugar, unpredictable and very heavy."Going somewhere, charity case?" Killian purred, straightening up to close the gap between us.I stopped, my skin turned hot under his gaze, but i forced my chin up.Sarcasm was the only shield I had left. "Unless you're the new hall monitor. Cross, move. I have a date with the head of your triad."Killian let out a short, sharp laugh stepping closer until he forced me against the cold slate tiles of the wall. "A date with Jaxon? Tough luck. I watched you in class, default. I saw what you
Eden Scrub harder, Eden. You missed a spot on my heel." Tinsley's voice was loud enough for the whole courtyard, and no one was going to stop her. Nobody ever stopped the Alpha's daughter.I stayed on my hands and knees on the freezing tile. The sleeves of my oversized grey sweater soaking through my skin. Using the rough wool of my sleeve to wipe fresh mud off Tinsley's white designer boots.Around us the dozens of elite students lined and stood by their tables of this Academy, their snickers and murmurs cutting through the morning air."She really is just a glorified maid," Gen whispered from Tinsley's side, her laughter sharp. "Look at her. The Alpha adopts her, and she can't be grateful, can she be any slower? also She smells like a wet dog."A heavy, metallic scent presses down the back of my neck. It's Tinsley's Beta friends, all flaring their auras , trying to force my head into the dirt.Inside my chest, something snapped. Let me tear them apart. Kia growled. Her voice was a
