Chapter 5 Lucas + Chapter 6 Wendy

I don’t get Wendy. She has all this stuff and yet she says her life is boring. I mean, with all this stuff I would be living in heaven. Wendy is kind-hearted but sometimes she’s a bit weird. From the moment I met her to now.

She went from a girl chasing after me to a girl who invited me to live with her. I see no goal in how this is helping her. Having an extra person, maybe even a stranger, in your house doesn’t give people much joy. There’s definitely wrong with her the more I think about it. This is why I will never understand girls. All girls do is for their benefits, well some not all.

Like, if  I take my mom as an example. My mom, I guess, wanted a happy life. I mean if I think about it, she wasn’t happy with my dad. She would be working half the day and spend the rest either sleeping or arguing with dad. She once told me that she has been working for the family and yet she doesn’t receive anything back but bad treatment. I understand where she’s coming from, but she left without saying goodbye.

I don’t hate dad for ruining my life but at least he still took care of me and did not abandon me. I just hope mom is spending her life with the love of her life and her family in Japan. Without thinking of me. WHICH I don’t understand why she didn’t take me with her. She must not want a burden like me.

My dad, on the other hand, could barely afford a car, and here’s a girl who owns 5 of them. No wonder my dad wanted me to marry a wealthy person, he wants to live a luxurious life like her. I guess rich people don’t need to worry about life but if you put your feet in Wendy’s shoes then you would feel how lonely she is.

Having no one but your maid in a huge house, not even your family. I get why her life is boring now that I think about it. She has no one to spend it with. And I’m going to change that. I’m going to bring her happiness, anger, and possibly sadness, to make her feel more human.

Chapter 6 Wendy

I look at Lucas to notice him staring at me. Not to be rude but he looks like a stalker. I mean, if anybody else saw him staring at them weirdly then they probably think he’s a pervert and would slap him. They’re not wrong, it’s self-defense.

Without hesitation, I honk at him. He jumps back startled by the sudden action. I start to laugh so hard till he walks toward the car and enters the passenger seat. ”Why would you honk at me? I didn’t do anything wrong,” he says slamming the door, giving me a death glare.

”Do you want to pay for repairs? It’s your fault anyway. You were taking too long to enter. Do you know how weird it is getting stared at?” I say starting the engine.

“That’s how I felt when I first saw you anyways. A random person staring at me trying to sleep.”

“That wasn’t my fault. You were the one who thought it would be a good place to sleep at a park where dogs can bark at you.”

“There were no dogs when I entered.”

“You must be blind or really blind. We should buy some glasses too if you’re that blind.”

The car ride became quiet until Lucas decided to start a small talk. “I wonder why you let me live with you. Do you want money or…”

I glance at him then back at the road. “Simple. I’m giving you my sympathy. You probably don’t want it but that’s too bad.” I take a turn before continuing. “Also, use your head. If I wanted money I wouldn’t bring a homeless man into my house. You need the money more than I do.”

“But there are more homeless people in the world but yet you chose me. Why’s that?”

“Because I’m more comfortable with people my age. In your case, looks like my age. I’m not good with older… people. And there’s at a point in their lives, they messed up with something that made them homeless. I’m not saying they’re bad people but you look young and need a second chance. You’re probably the youngest one I’ve ever helped so far. Other than children. Children count as one family, including their parents.”

“ I thought I was the only one. I guess I’m not as special as I thought I was.”

“As obnoxious as I may go, I helped a bunch of people. I either gave them a job or a rented place. Some families just wanted money to buy food. For you, you probably need everything I can give.”

“So you make friends from helpless people?”

“Gosh no. That’s like I’m taking advantage of them. That would be, considered, very… cheeky.”

Lucas gave me a stare, “Then how about Amber and Eric?”

“Don’t think so little of me. I’ve known them since forever. Not by money but by personality.”
