Amelia had a flood of news in just one day—some good, some bad. For starters, the marketing team at Lopez Co. reached out to tell her that the response to her collection in stores had been underwhelming.

Because of that, they wouldn’t be putting any ad spend behind her designs moving forward. She raised an eyebrow, totally unbothered.

Then came a more pointed message—from Sadie, Aaron’s mother. But of course, Sadie didn’t bother to come in person. She sent her longtime assistant instead, who somehow knew exactly where Amelia was staying.

The woman bypassed security without a hitch and knocked on her door, calm and composed. “Ms. Lopez sent me to remind you—it’s better, and more dignified, if you go back to where you belong.”

  • After divorce, He regretted   Ch84 - You even a designer?

A week after the competition deadline, the public exhibition hosted by the International Fashion Association finally opened. As soon as Emily stepped into the art hall, a faint woody scent greeted her, blending perfectly with the warm, earthy tones of the decor. After passing the security checkpoint, the first thing she saw was a large projection screen suspended overhead, cycling through the top ten shortlisted entries. The designers' names were all hidden—only entry numbers were shown. Visitors could cast a vote for their favorite, and the audience vote would count for 20% of the final score.Emily paused, her eyes fixed on the screen. She stood still for a few seconds until her own design appeared among the entries—her eyes lit up. She’d made the shortlist!Excited, she pulled out her phone to text her friend with the news. “Where are you?” she asked. Her friend replied, “Stuck in traffic—will be there soon.” So Emily decided to look around in the meantime. The venue was already bu

  • After divorce, He regretted   Ch82 - A substitute

Amelia had originally planned to talk to Aaron once he finished his shower. Maybe he was just groggy from waking up, maybe once he’d cooled off, things would shift back to normal. But when he came out of the bathroom, he didn’t just keep his cold face—he dropped a bomb: “Move out as soon as you can. I’ve got work, no time to talk. If you need anything, speak to the butler.”She had never, in her entire life, felt this humiliated. What was supposed to be a soft, warm morning had turned into a full-blown eviction. Not long after Aaron left, the butler came to her door, knocking politely to inform her, “The driver is ready downstairs. Your luggage is already loaded into the car. Let us know when you're ready to leave.”He didn

  • After divorce, He regretted   Ch81 - Why you here?

Aaron’s words played back in Amelia’s mind in slow motion, like a scene stretched out in a film. “Don’t leave me again...” His voice had carried a desperate, pleading warmth that struck her harder than she expected. Amelia was stunned, eyes slowly welling with joy. Tilting her chin up to look at him, she whispered, “I’m right here. I’m not going anywhere.”She had thought coming back to Aaron was just a calculated step—he was a rung on the ladder to success. But the moment he pleaded with her not to go, her heart swelled so full it was dizzying. No words could capture the thrill washing over her. He still loves me. And maybe—just maybe—she had more feelings for him than she’d dared to admit. After all, they’d spent years together in their youth. Saying she felt nothing would be lying to herself. If she could have both love and a boost to her career? That would be… perfect.Aaron had pulled her against his chest. At first, he’d only clutched her hand, but then his other arm slid aro

  • After divorce, He regretted   Ch80 - Difficult guest

On the fourth day of Aaron’s business trip—Amelia’s fourth day living in the house—Mia had truly come to understand just how difficult this guest really was. Apart from being politely civil the first day, Amelia had been ordering them around non-stop ever since.Daily room cleaning, fresh towels, laundry, and meal prep were standard duties, but Mia hadn’t expected Amelia to be so demanding. She insisted every single item of clothing be perfectly pressed—not even the tiniest crease allowed. Then there was the fruit. Amelia told Mia she didn’t eat grape skins, made her peel an entire bunch, one by one… and in the end, only ate two grapes. She then said the rest weren’t fresh enough and instructed Mia to throw them out—in front of her.To Mia, Amelia wasn’t just arrogant—she was flat-out disrespectful. She walked around acting like she owned the place. Once, Mia overheard her rudely telling the butler to remove the flowers from the garden, claiming she was allergic. While the butler had

Francie noticed Theo hadn’t touched the cocktail in front of him and asked, “Why aren’t you drinking? That’s our new signature—been waiting on your feedback.”Theo gave a polite smile and shook his head. “Didn’t bring my driver tonight. I drove myself and still gotta get your sister home later. So, I’ll pass for now—save it for next time.”Though a sip or two wouldn’t put him over the limit, the fact that Theo didn’t even take one showed just how careful he was.It dawned on Francie then—maybe the way Theo looked out for Emily went beyond the usual boss-employee or even friendly concern. But Francie didn’t want to jump to conclusions.Emily wasn’t officially single
