Zenith’s POV

By the time we get home, my head is still swimming. I keep staring at the house keys like they might start talking and explain the emotional rollercoaster they have thrown me onto. But of course, they do not. They just glint smugly under the hallway light as I set them on the kitchen counter.

Then something strange happens. Alejandro rolls up his sleeves and walks toward the fridge. “I’ll cook tonight,” he says, like it’s the most normal thing in the world. I blink. “Wait. You cook?”

He does not answer. Instead, he just opens the fridge, grabs vegetables, eggs, a tray of marinated chicken I did not even know we had, and starts moving with calm precision. I hop onto a stool and watch in amazement as he sets up like a chef in a Michelin-star kitchen.

Within minutes, the kitchen smells like heaven. He is fast, precise and very elegant, even in the way he slices peppers and tosses spices into the air like he is communing with them. “Where did that come from?” I ask, genuinely

  • Alejandro's Human Antidote    The First Trial

Lucien’s POVI step onto the training grounds of the villa, eyes scanning the space, alert. The crisp mountain air carries the scent of pine and damp earth, mingling with the faint, metallic tang of magic that lingers around the villa. Wolves shift in the distance, their forms flickering as shadows between the trees. I tense instinctively, old habits die hard, but I am reminded that here, I am not hunted. Not anymore. The pack is assembled. Jandro stands at the center, calm but commanding, his storm-gray eyes sweeping over us like the tide. Zenith hovers near him, her presence like a tether, grounding each of us before we begin. Koa leans against the side of the training area, ever-watchful, arms crossed, the silent guardian. And then there’s the teenagers, Darian, Lysander, Elysia, already standing tall, no longer the jittery kids I first saw. And finally, Esme and Selene, the witches, and me, Lucien, vampire without a clan, now without fear.Ze

  • Alejandro's Human Antidote    An Unexpected Home

Lucien’s POVI never thought I would feel… this. Standing in the Villa of Lake Tahoe, the sunlight spilling through tall windows, I feel my chest tighten in a way I cannot quite place. It is not fear, exactly, though there is a thread of caution, but awe. Pure, unfiltered awe. They call this place the Haven of Shadows, and I can understand why. It is not just a villa. It is a sanctuary. Every corner hums with power, not the kind meant to dominate or strike fear, but the kind that steadies, strengthens, anchors. And it is alive, alive in a way I have never witnessed in centuries of wandering, of hiding, of surviving. The pack. That is what they call themselves. Wolves, witches, even a human healer, measured by the way the alpha, Jandro, watches, I sense there is more than simple hierarchy here. Respect, trust, and an unseen thread of connection tie them together, binding them in ways I didn’t think possible outside my own kind. And then it happens

  • Alejandro's Human Antidote    A New Shadow Joins

Zenith’s POVMorning sunlight filters through the tall windows, brushing across the living room where our pack stirs. Even the air feels different now, charged with something unseen, something tethered to the heartbeat of The Haven of Shadows. I stand near the kitchen, hands busy preparing a simple breakfast, though my attention is elsewhere. The teens, Darian, Lysander, and Elysia, are sprawled across the sofa, bickering quietly, their laughter carrying the ease that only comes from true comfort. Esme and Selene sit on the floor, murmuring low spells and herbal chants, each word soft, rhythmic, absorbing the energy of the villa. I marvel at the transformation. Barely eight months ago, this was only Jandro, Koa, and me, three outcasts, trying to survive the shadows. Now, it’s alive, a true pack, growing daily. My gaze drifts to the balcony as a subtle shift ripples through the villa. I sense it before I see it, the presence of someone else, delib

  • Alejandro's Human Antidote    The Alpha’s Quiet Awe

Alejandro’s POVMorning light filters through the tall windows of the Tahoe villa, slicing across the polished floors and the carefully curated chaos of our growing pack. I watch from the top of the stairs, silent, motionless, the way an alpha observes before stepping in.Zenith is already moving among the five newest members, Darian, Lysander, Elysia, Esme, and Selene, her human presence commanding in its own quiet, undeniable way. She kneels beside Darian, adjusting a bandage I did not even notice had frayed overnight, her fingers delicate, precise, confident. And yet, despite her humanity, there is no hesitation, no doubt. They respond to her instinctively, unguarded, listening, leaning in, absorbing her warmth.I exhale softly, almost inaudible, and I feel the pull again, the magnetic tether of the mate bond, steady and insistent. Eight months. Barely eight months since that night in New York, painting smeared across her arms, radiance spilli

  • Alejandro's Human Antidote    Moonlight’s Touch

Zenith’s POVThe night is impossibly still, yet the villa hums around me. Even the walls feel alive, as if they have absorbed every heartbeat, every echo of laughter, every whisper of our pack. And yet, nothing compares to the quiet thrum of Jandro’s presence beside me.I am perched on the balcony railing, the cool night air brushing my skin, wrapped in the blanket he draped around my shoulders earlier. His hand finds mine again, warm and insistent, threading our fingers together. I let myself savor the grounding pressure of his touch, the way it seems to pull my own heartbeat into rhythm with his.“Zenith…” His voice is low, gentle, almost a rumble in my chest. I glance at him. His storm-gray eyes are softened, calm, and yet… there’s that primal edge beneath, the wolf barely held in check, waiting, yearning. I smile faintly. “Yes, Jandro?”He exhales slowly, as if letting the night absorb some of the tension coiled in his muscles.

  • Alejandro's Human Antidote    A Night Between Us

Jandro’s POVThe villa is quieter than usual tonight. Even the distant hum of the forest seems hushed, as if it knows this is our moment. I have spent the evening checking wards, reviewing pack security, and ensuring everyone is settled. But my thoughts have strayed again and again to her, my little moonlight, the Luna who calms and heals everything around her, even me.I find her on the balcony, leaning against the railing, the moonlight catching strands of her hair like threads of silver. She turns at the soft sound of my steps, smiling. That smile, bright, gentle, alive, makes my chest tighten. My wolf stirs beneath my skin, growling low, possessive, restless. I want to claim her, mark her, hold her close. But I don’t. Not yet. Inferno has been patient with me, and I trust him. I trust that Zenith’s timing matters just as much as mine.“You’re too quiet tonight,” she says softly, voice brushing over me like silk. “Quiet?” I ask, my voice rough
