CHAPTER XIV

Two years later

“Let us welcome the highest paid model and actress, Isla de Catalina!”

I walked towards the center stage and shake hands with the host.

“Have a sit, Isla.”

“Thanks,”

The audience were screaming my name. It was bustling in the studio.  I can’t believe how time flies swift.

“So Isla, how are you?”

“I’m fine, Michelle.”

“So glad to hear that!”

“How about your reality show?”

“I am kind of M.I.A in the show because of constricting schedule. But I am ecstatic that people actually love the show.”

The audience then screamed before I can continue.

“Sorry to interrupt. I’ll just hand Isla her drink. She might cry.”

I cackle and accepted the lunch box.

“Bye, everyone.”

Applause followed.

“That is Piri Jansen, ladies and gentlemen!” the host acknowledged.

She then turned to me.

“Piri is adorable. He does that to you every day?”

“PJ does that to everyone, actually.” I revealed.

It took us an hour and a half to finish that show.

“Thank you for coming to our show. Isla everyone!”

A staff led me to my dressing room. I still have another show which is a cooking show. I had this since two years ago.

Many has happened ever since.

Aidan, my brother, now is also a model. A successful one too. He’s been here and there for fashion show. Sometimes, we are even in a show. Last time, we had a collaboration with the fashion brand Q. it was Q x Isla x Aidan.

It was composed of a collection that was summer inspired plus a trendy one. It was for both male and female wardrobes.

Our family has also taken into a spotlight. Dad as a well-known businessman and mom as also a well-known TV personality and entrepreneur.

We have our very own show called, ‘Life in the Limelight’.

Sometimes, I am in those episodes and sometimes not.

I have been into acting also. I was first casted in a teen fiction genre movie titled, ‘I Told Dream about Her.’

It was about a guy who had lost his first love, Dream. He then meets another woman that has similarities to Dream. He doesn’t want to hurt Dream, so he stayed away from the girl until he found out something out Dream’s past that led him to have a connection with the woman. And the rest was history.

I was casted as Dream.

I didn’t even know I could act not until I was casted. I didn’t audition for the role but the director wanted me to be in the movie as per suggested by the writer as they both think I am suited for the role. I was called after an abroad show and I just did what I was told. After an hour, they told me that I got it.

It was almost a year of shooting the film. After it was shown to the public, they were massive positive feedbacks from the audience especially in my part.

Then, I was called by the same company to signed a contract with them for another movie that is to be release this year.

I had met a lot of veteran actors and actresses that guided me throughout everything.

“Ma’am, kailangan daw po kayo mamaya for testing ng bagong products atsaka yung photoshoot daw po ng new wardrobe is this weekend na daw po.” My secretary informed me.

“Noted, Christine.”

I also did launch my own make-up and clothing line that has been booming for a year now. I am jubilant about how it turned out. At first, I thought it would flop but thank god, it wasn’t.

We drove away from the building and stopped by Dine N’ Dance, a fast-food restaurant. It’s my cheat day right now and another blessing that came to me was I am finally all-healed from my eating disorder.

I am not really on the same pounds as I am before but I can say that I am healthy.

After grabbing some take-out foods, they drove me to another shooting set. It was a fantasy movie.

It’s about wizards and witches and the dark forces.

Manong Wil opened the door for me where the glimmer of the cameras was blinding me.

“Isla, ano bang meron sa inyo ni Piri Jansen?”

“Isla, wala na bang pag-asa si Bill Morris?”

“Paano naman si Kade?”

“Anong masasabi mo sa mga taong bina-bash ka?”

“Did you create a little trouble at the hotel room back in Dubai?”

Gladly, I was able to enter the set safely. The guards were there to stop the media from questioning things about me.

My name was glued from men to men that I worked with. Piri Jansen was a co-actor at a movie after I Told Dream about Her.

He was a funny man and easy to get along so after the movie was done, we would hang-out sometimes and PJ would treat me to different food shops and spa’s making the people conclude that we are dating but we aren’t. PJ has his non-showbiz girlfriend that I’ve met one time. She’s so kind and treats me like her sister. I explained to her about those rumors circling PJ’s name and mine.

Second, Bill Morris is also an actor and a singer that is friends with Coleen Heart. I’ve never worked with him yet but he publicly announces how he has a crush on me since I started my career in modeling.

He would post stolen photos of me that’s creepy. His fans think its adorable but for me, it’s not.  I hate his guts. He would do greet me on shows and he even slide to my dm trying to start a conversation. I am civil to him.

Bill sends me flowers once in a while and his fandom have gone too far thinking that we are in a secret relationship. They even protested about me being Bill’s leading lady in a romance film. They have been attacking the female lead because they wanted me but their wimps weren’t granted as I was in the middle of filming the movie that is to be released in a few weeks.

Third, Kade Doyle. They still are associating me with the guy. Some of ‘our fans’ have been linking everything about our relationship.

I don’t want to interferre with his relationship with Coleen now that they’re,
