George's POV

I stood frozen as the crowd burst out of the club like something monstrous had been unleashed inside. Bodies collided, heels snapped, voices screamed into the night. Some people cried. Some shouted. Some didn’t even look back....just ran, driven by blind terror.

“What the hell…” I muttered.

I had only stepped out to fill my fuel tank.

Just minutes ago, everything had been normal. Music, laughter, lights. I left that behind without a second thought. Now I was back, staring at chaos, feeling like a lost sheep standing in the middle of a pack of wolves that didn’t even notice me.

My chest tightened painfully.

I pulled out my phone with trembling fingers and dialed Cierra’s number.

Ring.

Ring.

The screen dimmed suddenly.

“No… no,” I whispered, tapping it frantically.

The phone flickered once, then shut down.

Dead.

“Fuck,” I hissed, dragging a hand through my hair.

Panic crept into my throat, thick and suffocating. I turned slowly, scanning every face, every movement, hoping

Cierra's POV My heart sliced painfully against my ribs the moment I saw her.The last person I ever imagined encountering tonight.Naomi.For a split second, my body refused to move. The air thickened around me, pressing down on my chest, making it hard to breathe. Of all the ghosts this night had dragged out, she was the most dangerous one.She walked toward me like she owned the ground beneath her feet, her lips curving into a slow, infuriating smile.“Hey, girl.”I hissed immediately, my guard snapping back into place. “My mum just left. Too bad.”She scoffed softly, tilting her head. “Oh, yes. I’m fully aware.”She stepped closer.Instinctively, I stepped back. “What do you need, Naomi?”Her smile widened. She reached out and lifted my chin with her fingers, forcing my face upward. Her touch wasn’t gentle, it never was.“Listen,” she said quietly, her eyes darkening. “I hope your mother knows I don’t forget so easily what she did to my mum.”I knocked her hand away and scoffed. “

Cierra's POV “What the fuck did you do?!”My scream tore through the room as I slammed my fists against George’s chest. My whole body shook with rage and disbelief. Nothing felt real. Nothing sounded real. It was like my soul had been dragged out of my body and thrown back in carelessly. He grabbed my wrists quickly. “Cierra, listen to me. I swear...it wasn’t intentional.”I stared at him, my eyes burning. How stupid does he think I am? How foolish did he think I was to believe such nonsense after what I had just witnessed?I ripped my hands away from him and ran.I dropped to my knees beside Jamal’s body.“No… no… no…” My voice cracked as my hands hovered over him, afraid to touch him, afraid of what I would feel. His body was unnaturally still. Too still. Blood soaked through his clothes, staining the floor beneath him like a cruel painting.Tears streamed uncontrollably down my face.“Jamal…” I whispered.A sob tore out of me, loud and broken.I turned sharply toward George and sc

  • All That Glitters Is My StepDad.   Chapter 30: It's Over.

Cierra's POV I inhaled deeply, held it in, then let it out, slowly.Again. In. Out. In again.Get a grip. There was no way, absolutely no way I would let my mother crawl into my head tonight. This was classic her. Manipulating fear, bending reality, making you believe the world would fall apart the moment you dared choose yourself. She had perfected the art over the years.I hissed quietly, shut off my phone, and fixed my gaze on the door.I was done overthinking.Even if my mum was right, even if things did go sideways...I couldn’t imagine leaving Jamal stranded because of my fear. Because of my selfishness. I wouldn’t do that to him. Before her words could drown me again, the door slid open just enough for a tray of clothes and a cup to be pushed inside. My lips curved into a smile. Here comes my man.I hurried over, grabbed the tray, and inspected the outfit. A short skirt, fitted top, sleek and playful.“Female bartender vibes,” I muttered with a soft laugh. “Such a smart guy.”I

Cierra's POVThe hand extended toward me hovered in midair...steady, warm, patient.I stared at it, blinked once, then sighed as realization hit me like a slap.Of course.Him.The same guy I had a reckless one-night stand with. The same guy whose kisses I used to distract my boss. The same guy who had been stupidly good tonight...annoyingly good...but still, a girl deserved peace after chaos.“I’m fine,” I muttered, wiping my eyes quickly. “No thank you. I’ll pass on the hug.”He didn’t withdraw his hand. Instead, he crouched down until his face was level with mine. Before I could look away, his fingers slid under my chin and lifted gently.“Are you crying?” he asked softly. “Cierra, I’m… I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have pushed you into doing anything with me and...”“No.” I cut him off immediately, shaking my head. “We’re not doing this. That night never happened. We’re trashing it. Mistake deleted. Deal?”I raised my little finger toward him.He smiled, dimples flashing. “I thought it w

Blinky's POV I kept my expression unreadable as Mr. Dominic towered over me, his eyes sharp enough to cut straight through every lie I had ever told.“No, sir. I have no idea who you’re speaking about,” I said calmly.A clean lie.A necessary lie.Because even though Cierra and I had drifted apart, maybe even fallen apart...there was no universe in which I would expose her. Not after everything she’d gotten tangled in… especially with him.He was her stepdad now, at least publicly, and for reasons I did not understand, he wanted her desperately. Too desperately. And it terrified me.His gaze lingered, searching my face like he expected the truth to crawl out of my pores.“So you’re saying there’s no dancer by the name MB here?”I exhaled quietly behind my mask. If he saw my real face right now, if he connected that the person who once ran into him with Cierra was me?The chaos…The drama…Not worth imagining.“Sir,” I said lightly, “that name doesn’t ring a bell in this club.”He did
