Drake

He was ready to show her everything. He wanted to give her everything she wanted.  As long as she played nice.  If not, she wouldn’t really have a choice and things could get very unpleasant.  He felt things could go either way at this point.  He let her go first through the turn style like doors.  Surprising enough she turned back to look at him as she walked.

“Is this supposed to impress me?” she stopped suddenly.

“For the mere price of your soul and the end of the human race, you to can live like a millionaire.” She sounded like Bob Baker.

He let out a laugh.

She was unamused.

He could tell she was trying to act unimpressed.  He prided himself in his labrish collection of artifacts from around the world.  His building was designed with a mixture of Greek and Egyptian influence.

“Well, some of the world’s most important world leaders have passed through these doors and raved. It’s a shame you don’t like it.  I was hoping you would love your new home.  Let me know what I can do to make it more comfortable for you.” He was mocking her of course.

“Oh, I am not staying. I am just here for AJ and Miss Clarke.” Her eyes scanned the lobby.

“Of course.” Drake motioned for one of his workers. “Bring me Miss Clarke.”

“Ye-yes Master.” There was no eye contact.

“Ally. Follow me we can wait for her in my office.”  He took a few steps towards the elevater.  Her footsteps did not follow.

“I am not going any further.  I will wait here for Miss Clarke and AJ. Then I will walk out of here and you will never see me again.” She stood glued to the ground, cross armed, determined.

“Well then. That doesn’t give me very much motivation to let you leave now does it?” The elevator dinged closed. He started walking towards the stubborn girl.

“Oh. I will be leaving. This is not my home.”

She is acting so damn juvenile.

“I was hoping it wouldn’t resort to this.”  He started to quickly rush at her.

“Drake! That is quiet enough!”  A voice came from behind him.  Not many could control him but, he knew well enough to listen to the owner of that voice.

The look on Alyssa’s face was of utter relief.

“Miss Clarke!” She ran past Drake right into Miss Clarkes arms and began to sob.

“You’re alright! I was, I am so scared. Are you okay?”  At this point Drake was surprised Ally could stand.  Her weight was being mostly held up by the older woman.

“Yes, yes girl. I am perfectly fine.” He watched as Miss Clarke stroked Ally’s gardenia smelling hair.

His gaze met the older woman’s and she gave him a nod of approval.

“Yes, Miss Clarke are you okay?”  He asked sounding almost cynical.

“Never better son.” She responded.

Alyssa let go of Miss Clarke.  She looked from her to him and Drake watched as realization wash over her.

“Mom? Mo- you’re his-” She started walking towards the turnstile doors.  The color drained from her face and he rushed to her side just before her body went limp.

“Well. That went well do you think mother?” He asked walking with her towards the elevator, Ally limp in his arms.

“Take her up to rest. She is one of us and we need to take care of her. She will come around when she sees that this is her life, we are her people and this is her destiny.”
