Chapter 5 - Chidinma

It's Saturday, and as usual I'm going shopping with my sister or let's say, my bestie. We bounded up real good after the accident and her mourning state. After shopping for so many things with shopping bags as evidence, we are at the counter to pay for what we bought.

As usual, the bill is split, I pay first with my master card, but as Chimamanda is about to pay with her own master card, the door opens and a hot guy comes in with his body guards.

I'm still accessing him, but I could see Chimamanda from my peripheral vision gawking at him. This is the first time I've seen her getting so attracted to a guy this way.

Then it occurs to me that nobody is meant to enter here as we are still shopping. I'm sensing trouble right now. If it were me I wouldn't mind, but Chimamanda obviously does. 

The stranger approached us and said our names. "Wow!" It seems as if someone knows us" I say to myself blushing. I dare not say that out loud. 

Chimamanda cuts him off before he even tries to introduce himself like a gentleman should. She harshly demands what he is doing here. 

The receptionist tries to explain to her, but I think it sounds stupid to her as she slaps her on her face; Chimamanda will surely reward you with slaps if you sound stupid to her.  

Everyone wears a shocked expression on their faces. I had to prevent her from ruining the pretty lady's face with slaps by holding her back and mouthing "it's okay, sis" which I'm sure will calm her down.

The stranger told Chimamanda it was too harsh to slap the lady when we were already leaving, and besides, we could resolve the time frame so it won't clash again, but my sister won't hear of it as she told him to shut up. 

The manager came by maybe after hearing the noise and apologized to us. "You better be" Chimamanda said as she paid for the items, "if any of these repeats, make sure that person is fired" She added and exited the mall. 

"I am so sorry my sister had to talk to you in that manner". I apologise on her behalf as usual to the stranger.

"It's okay, Chidinma, by the way my name is Ryan; Ryan Onyeka Ikeagu"

"Oh my!" I gasped "I am guessing you to be the son of Engr. Nnamdi Ikeagu of  Ikeagu airlines subsidiary of the Ikeagu group?" I asked smiling. He smiled with a nod.

"I am so sorry my sister embarrassed you like that" I said feeling disturbed about who my sister insulted. "No problem, Chidinma, we are bound to see different characters every day "

"Okay, but my sister can be a sweet, loving lady, just that she has her bad sides" I defended. "I will get going then, good bye" I quickly say and head to the exit door.

I got to the receptionist desk, apologized to her and pulled out  five thousand naira and gave it as a tip; she thanked me. Just as I was about to leave the mall, Ryan called me back and asked for Chimamanda's complimentary card.

I enquired why and he replied that he likes her with a smile on his face. "She's a hard nut to crack" I warned handing it over to him. "I know, thank you" he replied and I took that as a cue to leave the mall to join my sister who had been waiting for me in the car.
