Alora’s POV
With the encouragement of Selene, I stepped out of my room. Today there are no guards standing at my door.
While I was climbing the stairs leading to Morgan's room, I noticed Violet coming down. She had her permanent scowl plastered in her face.
As I made my way to pass her, she blocked my path.
“You don't have any business in this part of the house”
I ignored her and tried to push past her, but she blocked me again. “Going to grovel I see”, she smiled.
Nyx was already getting agitated, and I could feel her pushing to take over.
Violet stepped closer, and I instinctively pushed her, making her stagger backwards with a gasp.
“Wow, you're strong now, huh? You will never be a werewolf and he will never like you. He is just really invested in you right now, because you're his mate, but even the mate bond fades with time”. She spat, venom
Alora’s POVHe pushed me closer still, my front pressing against his solid body. I could feel the warmth from him, seeping through the thin fabric of my dress, his musk scent wrapping around me.He pulled away for us to catch our breath. "Your scent…f*ck, I can't take it anymore” he murmured, the deep rumble of his voice, which had gone one note deeper, caressing my insides and spreading goosebumps all over my skin."Thank you, it's my, uh, shampoo." At that point, I knew I was blabbing, so I kept my mouth shut.He brushed my hair aside, his finger drawing a lazy circle on the sensitive skin at the hollow of my neck, where his constant nibbling had left visible hickeys.“No, it's not your shampoo or your cream, it's you, it's your essence, and it would interest you to know that it drives me crazy”. He murmured, brushing his warm hands at the spot, before his lips followed, trailing s
When I woke up, everything was dark. The only light that I could see was coming out of what I assumed to be an open window behind me, casting moonlight throughout the room.“Did I leave my window open”? Everywhere was cold as ice because of it, but somehow, it felt like I was under a heater. I frowned“Why am I so warm”?I let out a sigh and shifted, nuzzling back into my pillow. But then I paused. Whatever I was lying on was not a pillow. It was hard and warm and moving up and down. I lifted my head to get a better look.A gasp escaped my lips as I realized I was lying on top of a very hard-muscled chest.Everything that had happened in the day suddenly came flooding back to me: the meeting with the elders, the talk with Selene, my encounter with Violet, my healing abilities, which was why the window was open and the kiss.I stood up with a start, finally realizing this wasn’t my

Alora’s POVAfter Morgan left the gathering, the elders saw no need to keep going since they were gathered there mainly for him, so the meeting was called off. I walked with Selene back to the pack house. “Are we staying the night, or are we leaving immediately?” I asked, fearing her response. She smiled softly. “I'll be here for as long as you need me”, she replied, sitting down on one of the sofas in my room. I turned away from her, folding my arms along my chest. “I don't want to be here, mother.” “Come here” she called out to me. I went close and sat on the sofa close to her, facing her. She took my hands in hers. “Why didn't you call”? She asked“Call”? “The Orphanage. Why didn't you call when you got into trouble? All the time you got into trouble”?“But I called”? I protested.“You did”? “Yes, but I couldn't get to you, and they refused to let me speak with you.”She gritted her teeth.“Alora… I'm sorry for everything. I am sorry I hid so many things away from you for
Alora's POV“Alora, I hope you know if you complete those sentences your bond to your mate will be severed forever”? I furrowed my brows, “How did you know? Do you know about this world? Are you coming to save me? How did you know I was here? I had so many questions, and I was too stunned to voice them out. She offered me that same warm, knowing smile I remembered from childhood. “I’ll answer all your questions soon, dear,” she murmured.Of course, she knew what I was thinking. She had always known. Reading minds was one of her gifts. It used to creep me out as a kid, but at that point, it was oddly comforting. My eyes found Violet in the crowd. She didn't look happy with her arms still folded across her chest. I gulped, then took a step forward.Harry blocked my path. “That's the high priestess, Selene, you don't touch her or get too close to her.”I scoffed “High priestess? What the hell is that? This is Matron Hope from the orphanage where I grew up. She is literally like a mothe
Alora’s POVWe got into a small arena that looked like a hall. There was a small crowd awaiting our arrival. Immediately Harry noticed us, he ran over and led us to a chair. Morgan pushed me to his front and led me to a chair before he sat down at the other side. His eyes surveyed the whole crowd eagerly waiting to hear what he had to say.“This had better be fast. As you can see, we are covered in bruises, and I need to tend to my wounds and that of my mate,” Morgan’s voice echoed through the room, his presence imposing and intimidating. His hand found mine. His hands were warm, and it made a delicious tingle shoot up my side. I let him hold it, not because I wanted to, but because every eye in the room was burning holes through my soul. There were at least ten of them sitting opposite us. Faces that looked intimidating and auras that gave me goosebumps. The energy in the room was electric, and I felt all eyes on me.As my eyes scanned the room, I noticed Jones and Violet standing i
