"Roberto Martinez."
My eyes fell on the figure in the photo Ben had pointed to.
"He lives in the southern district's elite neighborhood with his wife and two daughters. Founder of the educational foundation Moon School of Design. A family man. Nothing is interesting about him besides sharing the same hobby as Jared Waltz. Roberto Martinez is an antique collector," said Ben.
"Is he one of our kind?" I asked.
Ben shook his head. "Nope. He's human." He moved another photo. "Look at this!"
My eyes narrowed, watching the photo closely. The man named Roberto appeared to be handing something to Jared. It needed to be more clear what the object was in his hand. Something like a wooden box. Maybe it was an antique, like Ben said.
"I think they're just doing an antique deal," Ben said.
"Can you find out what's in that box?" I turned to Ben. "I've already missed out once, Ben. I won't let it happen again," I said.
Two million dollars was no small sum. Jared Waltz had cost me a lot because of that asshole Antonio. It was a mistake, and I won't make it again. Anything to do with Jared would not catch me off guard.
Ben looked unsure but replied, "I'll find it out." He tidied up the photos on the table and said, "Have you received the invitation from Alpha Marcus?"
"Alpha Marcus?" My brow furrowed, waiting for further explanation.
"Alpha Marcus contacted me a few days ago. He wants to invite you to his mansion for dinner," Ben told me.
Marcus was an old friend of my father's. They were great at working together. Unfortunately, their relationship was fractured over a woman. And now, suddenly, he invited me to dinner. This was suspicious.
"Interesting, but I'm sure he has reasons for inviting me. Doesn't he?" I joked.
"That's exactly my point. I heard he's looking for a match for his daughter. Alpha Marcus needs someone to carry on his legacy."
This information was getting interesting. Marcus Moon only had one daughter. I didn't know her directly, but I knew enough about what Marcus' daughter looked like.
"I think he wants you to marry his daughter," Ben continued with a mocking face.
It sounded ridiculous, but I was on the same page as Ben. I thought accepting the dinner invitation would be a good idea. Marcus' daughter wasn't an ugly girl. I've met her before. As for marrying her, that's going too far. But maybe I could use her to take my mind off the half-breed girl.
A knock on the door interrupted this conversation. Ben turned around and opened the door. I couldn't hear exactly what he was talking about until Ben came back to me. His tense face made me move. I knew something was up, and things weren't okay.
"What happened?" I asked to the point.
"The girl. She attacked the servant. She tried to escape," Ben replied.
He didn't need to mention a name. I knew who Ben was referring to.
"What a fool! How dare she disobey my orders!" My chest rumbled. The girl wasn't listening to me. This can't be allowed! "Where is she now?" I asked.
"She's in her room," Ben replied.
I came out from behind the desk, then walked vast strides towards the girl's room.
"I'd given her a waiver from the dungeon, but she keeps doing stupid things like that. Just watch! I'll give her extra punishment." I kept swinging my legs.
The servant opened the door for me. I entered and saw the girl sitting on a chair with her hands and feet bound. Her long hair was in disarray, some sticking to her wet forehead.
‘Damn! She looks sexy.’
"Apologies, we had to tie her up, Alpha Ace. She keeps attacking us." The servant beside me said as if I would punish him for what he did.
Of course, I wasn't going to punish them. This girl was ungrateful, so it was only fitting that she be punished.
"Leave us alone!" I ordered.
I didn't want anyone besides me and the girl in this room. We were about four meters apart. She looked at me sharply. I could even feel the intense hatred in her eyes. However, that wasn't the point. I came here to remind her of my orders.
"Let me go!" She shouted while moving her bound body. I took a breath as I lowered my gaze. Her every move could turn me on. Damn it!
I slowly approached her until I was right in front of her, only one step away. She looked up at me. Her eyes were red and wet. The hatred had burned her courage, so she was desperate to attack the servant to escape. This girl was weak but had a strong soul.
‘Damn it! Why is this stirring up my desire?’
It was difficult to suppress emotions, but it was all under control.
"Silly!" I sighed. A little skeptical smile I thought would discourage her. "Do you think it's that easy to run away from me? If you were smart, you should have obeyed my orders and not acted like a fool. Listen! I've been very kind to you. Giving you enough food, decent clothes, a comfortable bed, and also... satisfaction." I saw her face turn red when she heard my last word. She was furious, and I loved it. One corner of my lips lifted even more comprehensively, and then I bent down and said in front of her face, "You should be thanking me. You're the luckiest prisoner ever to experience my prison."
"Never! Don't expect me to thank you!" she screamed.
I straightened up again. Unfortunately, this girl was very stubborn, which made me like her even more.
"Whether you like it or not, you are my slave-"
"I'm not your slave!" she snapped with emphasis.
The girl's screams provoked a smile from me. The more she rebelled, the more passionate she looked. I hated to admit this, but her every resistance felt like a spark that ignited my desire.
"Well, I tried to talk to you nicely. But it seems your head is made of the hardest stone." I took a deep breath and then exhaled loudly. "I'm warning you once again, Little Wolf. Obey my orders, or I will return you to the dungeon so you can sleep with the disgusting rodents down there."
She did not take her eyes off me. Her gaze was just as sharp as it had been a while ago.
"Then take me there! I'd rather sleep with the rodents than be a slave to your lust, you bastard!" she hissed.
Her words ignited my emotions. Her current expression was the opposite of when she sighed under my body. I wouldn't be wrong. Her mouth might deny it, but her body said otherwise. No matter how hard her mouth might deny it, the soul inside her was enjoying my every touch. She was no different from me.
"Don't test me, Little Wolf! Because I don't mess with my words." I said that calmly so she wouldn't notice how much I wanted to make love to her.
"Try it! I don't mess with my words either!" She challenged me.
This time, I could no longer let her keep talking. This girl had to be taught a lesson before I completely lost control.
"Don't say I never warned you," I said while holding back a growl.
I turned around and walked away. Ben waited at the door.
"Lock her up in the rat cell, and don't give her any light until I permit you! I want to see how long she can last." I ordered.
~Rose~The party began. Bonfires were lit, and music played. Everyone was happy. Beer and venison were the main dishes. Everyone partied, danced and enjoyed the beer. That was for the adults. For us children, they forbade us from drinking beer and gave us fresh lemonade. There were only a few children in the pack. While I struggled to adapt to this new place, Rylee was already familiar with the other children. But it didn't matter. I could handle it."Hi, Rose," a boy with dark curly hair and bright brown eyes greeted me. He looked awkward and shy with red cheeks."Hi," I replied."Do you mind if I sit here?" He pointed to the seat next to me.I was actually in the mood to be alone. I'd rather sit by myself and watch the people partying. But I promised myself I would change. I wouldn't be the rude Rosemary anymore. So, I allowed him to sit next to me."Yes, of course," I said. The boy smiled broadly and sat down beside me. Then he held out his hand and introduced himself. "I'm Robby.
~Rose~The next day was my busiest day. I had to pack all my things. I had so much stuff that I needed four big suitcases to fit it all in."Dad! Help me!" I called from the door.Dad, who was talking to Uncle Ben, turned and said, "I'll be right there."I frowned at Dad's answer. These suitcases were so heavy. I wouldn't be able to carry them to the car by myself.I turned around and left, stomping my feet. I stood by the window waiting for Dad while I watched Rylee load the suitcases into the car trunk. I was surprised to see that Rylee had so few things."Didn't he bring all his stuff?" I muttered."Who doesn't bring all the stuff?" That question made me turn around immediately."Uncle Ben? Where's Dad?" I asked, looking towards the door."Luna Victoria needs his help. Sorry, I came in. Your door wasn't closed," Uncle Ben replied.I was annoyed. Wasn't I the one who called Dad first? Why does it always have to be Mom first?"So, what can I do for you?" Uncle Ben asked later.I was
~Rose~"Dad, can I have some time alone with Collin?" I looked up at Dad, hoping he would permit me.Dad smiled. "Sure, sweetheart. I'll leave you two alone," he said, kissing my forehead."Thanks, Dad," I said.Dad left the room after that. I can't explain my feelings. Collin looked sick, and I couldn't bear looking at him."Sorry," I started the conversation after hearing the room door close.Collin smiled weakly. "Why apologize? It's not your fault.""You got like this because you saved me," I said."You think so?" Even in his weakened state, Collin made a skeptical face. "I hate my father. I don't want him to get what he wants," he continued.I didn't want to argue with Collin. Whether what he said was true or not, he had saved me."Whatever it is, thank you," I said."I accept your thanks," Collin replied with a smile. We were silent for a moment. No one spoke, and only the monitor's sound could be heard."Why are you looking at me like that?" Collin's question snapped me out of
~Rose~I thought I was dead. I still remember how much it hurt when Dad stabbed me in the chest. I don't know how to describe it, but the pain was unbelievable. All the horrible things I saw about King Salvatore made me want to die. He had to be stopped, and the only way was to kill me. I was like a mother to this demon, and I didn't want him to use my body to commit such a terrible crime.Surprisingly, I didn't expect to wake up, but I am still alive. Whether I should be grateful or not, I was scared to death when I first opened my eyes and saw the light. Everything was so bright that it felt like my eyes were being pierced, and it hurt like hell. I went into shock, and after a while, I started to feel better. The doctor examined me and explained that I was in the hospital. I asked who had brought me to the hospital, and the doctor said my father did. The doctor also said that my family was waiting outside. Thank God, because I was afraid that Mr. Adams would take me to the hospital.
~Victoria~I was talking to Mala, but Rose's screams immediately caught my attention. I turned to her, and panic gripped me. My daughter's hands were clenched into fists, and her eyes were wide. Rose's breathing was rapid. The monitor screen showed a significant increase in heart activity. She looked frightened. I took Rose's hand and stroked her head."Rose. It's Mommy, honey," I whispered, hoping she could hear me."What happened?" Ace came and stood beside me.I turned to Ace and replied, "I don't know. I was talking to Mala, and suddenly Rose became like this.""Baby, can you hear me?" Ace moved closer to Rose and stroked her face, but there was still no response. Rose was still in the same condition. "Call the doctor!" he ordered. My trembling hand pressed the nurse call button. A nurse arrived shortly after that. Ace and I made room for the nurse to examine Rose."She just started screaming. Please do something," I explained without prompting. The nurse didn't seem to know what
~Ace~"Ace," the soft call echoed in my ears. I felt a soft touch on my shoulder. I feel so tired. My muscles felt stiff. But suddenly, my blood rushed, and my eyes snapped open as I remembered what had happened to my daughter."Rose!" I woke up spontaneously. "Hey, it's me. It's okay!" Victoria held my shoulders. She sat next to me, took my fingers, and smiled warmly. "We're at the hospital. Rose is stable."I turned to the bed and saw my daughter on life support. I don't know how many times my heart broke seeing my daughter lying there helpless. I thought she was dead, but she had survived."I woke you up because you were sweating a lot. Nightmare?" Victoria looked worried. Ever since Alpha Mark and Alpha Sanchez invaded my home, all I could think about was how to keep my family safe. The nightmares made me afraid to sleep. I'm thankful that Beta Ben helped me get through it all. My Beta was the savior I never thought would come at the right time. I thought he had died thirteen y
