"Roberto Martinez."
My eyes fell on the figure in the photo Ben had pointed to.
"He lives in the southern district's elite neighborhood with his wife and two daughters. Founder of the educational foundation Moon School of Design. A family man. Nothing is interesting about him besides sharing the same hobby as Jared Waltz. Roberto Martinez is an antique collector," said Ben.
"Is he one of our kind?" I asked.
Ben shook his head. "Nope. He's human." He moved another photo. "Look at this!"
My eyes narrowed, watching the photo closely. The man named Roberto appeared to be handing something to Jared. It needed to be more clear what the object was in his hand. Something like a wooden box. Maybe it was an antique, like Ben said.
"I think they're just doing an antique deal," Ben said.
"Can you find out what's in that box?" I turned to Ben. "I've already missed out once, Ben. I won't let it happen again," I said.
Two million dollars was no small sum. Jared Waltz had cost me a lot because of that asshole Antonio. It was a mistake, and I won't make it again. Anything to do with Jared would not catch me off guard.
Ben looked unsure but replied, "I'll find it out." He tidied up the photos on the table and said, "Have you received the invitation from Alpha Marcus?"
"Alpha Marcus?" My brow furrowed, waiting for further explanation.
"Alpha Marcus contacted me a few days ago. He wants to invite you to his mansion for dinner," Ben told me.
Marcus was an old friend of my father's. They were great at working together. Unfortunately, their relationship was fractured over a woman. And now, suddenly, he invited me to dinner. This was suspicious.
"Interesting, but I'm sure he has reasons for inviting me. Doesn't he?" I joked.
"That's exactly my point. I heard he's looking for a match for his daughter. Alpha Marcus needs someone to carry on his legacy."
This information was getting interesting. Marcus Moon only had one daughter. I didn't know her directly, but I knew enough about what Marcus' daughter looked like.
"I think he wants you to marry his daughter," Ben continued with a mocking face.
It sounded ridiculous, but I was on the same page as Ben. I thought accepting the dinner invitation would be a good idea. Marcus' daughter wasn't an ugly girl. I've met her before. As for marrying her, that's going too far. But maybe I could use her to take my mind off the half-breed girl.
A knock on the door interrupted this conversation. Ben turned around and opened the door. I couldn't hear exactly what he was talking about until Ben came back to me. His tense face made me move. I knew something was up, and things weren't okay.
"What happened?" I asked to the point.
"The girl. She attacked the servant. She tried to escape," Ben replied.
He didn't need to mention a name. I knew who Ben was referring to.
"What a fool! How dare she disobey my orders!" My chest rumbled. The girl wasn't listening to me. This can't be allowed! "Where is she now?" I asked.
"She's in her room," Ben replied.
I came out from behind the desk, then walked vast strides towards the girl's room.
"I'd given her a waiver from the dungeon, but she keeps doing stupid things like that. Just watch! I'll give her extra punishment." I kept swinging my legs.
The servant opened the door for me. I entered and saw the girl sitting on a chair with her hands and feet bound. Her long hair was in disarray, some sticking to her wet forehead.
‘Damn! She looks sexy.’
"Apologies, we had to tie her up, Alpha Ace. She keeps attacking us." The servant beside me said as if I would punish him for what he did.
Of course, I wasn't going to punish them. This girl was ungrateful, so it was only fitting that she be punished.
"Leave us alone!" I ordered.
I didn't want anyone besides me and the girl in this room. We were about four meters apart. She looked at me sharply. I could even feel the intense hatred in her eyes. However, that wasn't the point. I came here to remind her of my orders.
"Let me go!" She shouted while moving her bound body. I took a breath as I lowered my gaze. Her every move could turn me on. Damn it!
I slowly approached her until I was right in front of her, only one step away. She looked up at me. Her eyes were red and wet. The hatred had burned her courage, so she was desperate to attack the servant to escape. This girl was weak but had a strong soul.
‘Damn it! Why is this stirring up my desire?’
It was difficult to suppress emotions, but it was all under control.
"Silly!" I sighed. A little skeptical smile I thought would discourage her. "Do you think it's that easy to run away from me? If you were smart, you should have obeyed my orders and not acted like a fool. Listen! I've been very kind to you. Giving you enough food, decent clothes, a comfortable bed, and also... satisfaction." I saw her face turn red when she heard my last word. She was furious, and I loved it. One corner of my lips lifted even more comprehensively, and then I bent down and said in front of her face, "You should be thanking me. You're the luckiest prisoner ever to experience my prison."
"Never! Don't expect me to thank you!" she screamed.
I straightened up again. Unfortunately, this girl was very stubborn, which made me like her even more.
"Whether you like it or not, you are my slave-"
"I'm not your slave!" she snapped with emphasis.
The girl's screams provoked a smile from me. The more she rebelled, the more passionate she looked. I hated to admit this, but her every resistance felt like a spark that ignited my desire.
"Well, I tried to talk to you nicely. But it seems your head is made of the hardest stone." I took a deep breath and then exhaled loudly. "I'm warning you once again, Little Wolf. Obey my orders, or I will return you to the dungeon so you can sleep with the disgusting rodents down there."
She did not take her eyes off me. Her gaze was just as sharp as it had been a while ago.
"Then take me there! I'd rather sleep with the rodents than be a slave to your lust, you bastard!" she hissed.
Her words ignited my emotions. Her current expression was the opposite of when she sighed under my body. I wouldn't be wrong. Her mouth might deny it, but her body said otherwise. No matter how hard her mouth might deny it, the soul inside her was enjoying my every touch. She was no different from me.
"Don't test me, Little Wolf! Because I don't mess with my words." I said that calmly so she wouldn't notice how much I wanted to make love to her.
"Try it! I don't mess with my words either!" She challenged me.
This time, I could no longer let her keep talking. This girl had to be taught a lesson before I completely lost control.
"Don't say I never warned you," I said while holding back a growl.
I turned around and walked away. Ben waited at the door.
"Lock her up in the rat cell, and don't give her any light until I permit you! I want to see how long she can last." I ordered.
~Victoria~ The same man who brought me to this room came, and I just remembered who he was. He was the Beta, Benjamin Foster. His face looked very different from the one I remembered. All this time, my parents severely restricted my social life, so I didn't recognize him. If not for the tattoo on his neck, I wouldn't have known that this man was Benjamin Foster. He stood before me and sighed as if regretting what I had done. But who cares? I was sick of being a slave to the lustful asshole Ace Cassilas—or, should I say, I was sick of always falling prey to his temptations. It was the most humiliating thing that had ever happened to me in my life. "I've warned you to be nice." He shook his head lightly and crouched down. "Don't try to attack me! I'll do it gently," he said as he untied my legs. As soon as the ties loosened, I kicked my legs towards him, but his hands firmly gripped my ankles. His face lifted, his golden-brown eyes looking at me sharply, warningly. "Stop being so st
Something inside me was harrowing. I couldn't take it anymore. Slowly, my feet stepped back, and I turned to leave. The joints in my entire body felt weak. I rested one hand on the table's edge to avoid collapsing. I didn't want to cry, but the tears were welling up. "Don't cry, Vic. That bastard doesn't deserve your tears," I told myself. Why was I crying over him? Why was I in pain for him? Shouldn't I be happy he found another girl to spend his nights with? But why did it hurt so much? "Hey, you! What are you doing there?" Someone called out and came to me. I wiped away the tears with my fingers and lifted my face. I turned to the man standing a few steps to my right. "You're here to serve guests, not to daydream. Go back to your place quickly! Don't get me in trouble for your behavior," he ordered, his eyes glaring at me. From how they treated me, it seemed that no one in this mansion knew that Ace and I were mates. Or maybe they knew, but it meant nothing. "Sorry. I'll be b
"What are you doing in my car?" The baritone voice snapped me out of my shock. My eyes blinked a few times. My mouth opened and closed, and I had no idea what to say.I turned away when I saw Ace's men moving in the distance. They were heading towards this car."Please, let me hide here," I begged him as I cupped my palms together. He remained silent for a moment."What's in it for me to help you?" he asked.I glanced away, making sure Ace's men had yet to catch wind of my presence."Maybe there's nothing in it for you, but you may save my life," I replied."Give me a reason so I don't think that you're a crime syndicate in action," he ordered, still not believing me."Don't you see my clothes? I'm a maid at Alpha Ace Cassilas' mansion. I ran away because I couldn't stand his cruelty." I turned outside for a moment. "Please! They'll catch me and take me back to Alpha Ace," I begged."Do you know who I am?" he asked."Sorry, but... no," I answered honestly. It didn't matter who he was.
~Ace~With much deliberation, I agreed to a deal with Alpha Marcus. Hayley Moon and I finally got engaged after we agreed to the terms. In just one week, I returned to the mansion with the girl I was about to introduce as my fiancée.A party welcomed me. Ben organized everything. He's always reliable in so many ways. He could even be anything I wanted him to be. If he were a girl, I'd probably have made love to him."What about her?" I asked Ben when we had just entered the party venue."As you commanded, Alpha Ace. She's over there." Ben pointed in one direction. My eyeballs rolled following Ben's pointer. I saw her. She was wearing a maid uniform and offering drinks to the guests. She looked even cuter with her hair braided."Damn it!" I swore as the pounding came back."What's wrong? Is everything okay, Alpha Ace?" Ben's voice distracted me.I turned to see Ben staring questioningly at me. I thought he wouldn't hear my swearing, but his hearing is pretty sharp."Nothing," I replied
~Victoria~He was smiling. Alpha Jared said those words with a smile, but I felt like the air around me was being sucked out. This car felt like a vacuum, and I couldn't breathe."Have a comfortable seat, Victora. We still have a long way to go," he said again, which made my body freeze.Had I just walked into another asshole's trap? I tried hard to escape from Ace but fell into another black hole. Oh my! What a miserable life!We spent the rest of the trip in silence. No one spoke. Not me, Alpha Jared, or the driver. This made me shiver even more. I wondered what I would face after this."Alpha Jared, please. Don't hurt me," I begged as the car we were traveling in drove down a deserted road. I could see it was pitch-black left and right, but I could smell the thick werewolf scent from all around. It was as if they were in every air I breathed. It was like we were traveling through the darkness into a different dimension. The man only looked away briefly, and I'm sure my eyes saw t
And there I was, sitting on a single couch, reading a book while enjoying a hot chocolate far from my bastard Mate. I can't even remember the last time I did that. I think it was before the tragedy happened. It had been a few days since I arrived at the mansion, and Alpha Jared had been very kind. He allowed me to do anything, letting me roam at will throughout the mansion. I wouldn't say anything about living in Ace's mansion. Trust me, I felt more alive here.Lowering the book slightly, I could see the door to Alpha Jared's workroom, which was not closed tightly. He was sitting there behind his desk. Working on something with some papers, his expression was solemn. The man looked mature. No... not old, mature. As I looked at his face, I felt something hard to describe. His deep eyes seemed to change. Sometimes, they were calm and soothing, but other times, they seemed cold and dangerous. That contradiction was precisely the attraction. Many girls would scream for him, for sure."I s
My head was so heavy like a giant rock was pressing down on it. I heard someone talking. Well, not one person. There were two different voices. I wanted to open my eyes, but it felt so heavy. It took a while until I finally managed to do so. And I realized I was in my room, in my bed."Victoria? Are you awake?"My eyes were still too heavy to open, but I could see Alpha Jared rushing over to me. The bed swayed gently as Alpha Jared sat beside me."What do you feel now?" Alpha Jared touched my forehead."What's going on?" With all my might, I tried to make a sound."You passed out. You had a fever, and it looked like you threw up." He explained patiently, his voice sounding soothing. My mind flashed back to the last thing I'd done. Yes, Alpha Jared was right. My head hurt like hell, and it still does now. Then I got nauseous and threw up until it felt like my stomach was coming out."Excuse me, Miss Russell. Can I ask you something?" The voice sounded unfamiliar.I turned to him. It was
Alpha Jared had just returned from hunting. Every pack does this. I'd often heard Ace and his pack hunting, too. Of course, Omegas like me weren't on the list. Only those with high ranks do it. It's an instinct. After all, we are predatory by nature. Deer are our favorite quarry, but rabbits are to be noticed, too. Usually, we hunt for several days. The highlight is when the full moon rises, and we feast—enjoying the quarry, beer, and an orgy. That's what we do.But... none of that applies to me.As I said, my parents severely restricted my socializing. Whenever the Nightfall Pack had an event, I would be a spectator hiding in the distance. My mother once said she was worried that Alpha Ace would find me and make me one of his sluts. And look at what's happening now! My parents were desperate to hide and protect me, only to fall into the darkness of Ace's desire as his mate. How pathetic. To make matters worse, I was carrying his baby.I hated Ace, but not this baby. No matter what, I
