I ran faster and faster in the dense woods to let the pain in my heart to subside but it grew deeper as I recalled the moment when I sealed Gemma and my baby’s fate with my blind judgement.

Gemma’s screams echoed through the pack. I heard them clearly but the male ego inside me found pleasure in her painful cries. I threw her in the hands of her tormentors.
