Chapter 1 The Shocking News

Daisy Pov

The sun hung low as I alighted from the Airplane. The cool fresh air blew on my face  and I closed my eyes as I inhaled the air. Ah… The breeze felt refreshing. The air crackled with an electrifying tension as if the state of Arizona sensed the impending disruption my presence was about to cause. My legs moved silently, leaving no trace of my presence, a skill honed during years of self-imposed exile. Then it struck me. My kids!!

“Come Babies.” I urged my quadruplets. Jason, James, Janice and Juniper.  The five year olds stared at me with their deep coloured eyes. Janice and Jason had inherited the color of my eyes, deep blue. But James and Juniper had  inherited the color of their Father's  eyes, a very deep green. Eyes that I haven't looked into. A face that I have no idea of.

You wonder how I got into such a situation  where I didnt know who the father of my kids was? Let me usher you into my world. The World of the Abandoned Daisy Winans.

Flashback.

“Daisy! Wake up!” I heard my Father's voice from behind my bedroom door. Being an only child was wonderful.  So wonderful In the sense that I had my own personal room, personal space. No younger sibling to annoy me and no older sibling to boss me around.

Total bliss. Being an only child is so underrated.

“Father, let me sleep some more please.” I begged as I rolled in my bed. He walked into the room with a very serious face.

“This is what you do all day. You sleep, wake up, eat food that has already been hunted for you, go about doing stupid shows in the Pack. This is one of the reasons why you can never become Luna of the pack.” Father thundered.  I sighed and sat up. I was in no mood for Father's  tantrums.

“I apologize Father.  It's just that I'm exhausted from studying.” I said.

“You should not be exhausted. It's not an excuse. It's the only thing you can do to redeem yourself in front of the Pack members. You owe yourself good grades, not me. At least prove to the Pack that you're not useless.” Father said and I stared at him quietly.

“Anyway, I didn't come here to wake you or get upset. You need to come out. We, your mother and I, have some important information for you.” Dad said and I sat up properly.

I had seen Father be this stern before. He was always this way ever since I was unable to turn into my wolf self. He had become cold towards me, and wouldn't even let me come near him. It was no longer new to me. Six years ago, when I turned 12, I was unable to shift into my wolf. That automatically made me lose out in front of the Pack members. I had lost respect and my Father had also lost the respect of his people.

As the Alpha of the Pack, I understood  him. It was hard for me to attend Pack programs because I would be treated as the Alpha's daughter who had no Wolf. It was embarrassing.

My Father had no other child and being the only child and the heir to the Pack's throne, meant I would have to make up for being a werewolf without a wolf. And that pretty much makes me human.

And a human cannot lead a wolf Pack. Father has already told me that I wouldn't be the Luna of the pack. But I always felt that my Mother would be able to convince him to let me show him my abilities.  Instead, Father drew further and further away from me.

What could be so important that Dad had to wake me up from a nap, coupled with the fact that he barely came to my room. I sat up, arranged my hair, and walked to the Living room, hoping to the moon goddess that it was good news.

In the Living room sat my Mother, looking very uncomfortable, and another woman, whom I'd never set eyes on. Two other people, kids who looked like me, stood behind the strange woman, and they glared at me as though I'd offended them.

People I'd never met in my life.

“Daisy. Come.” Mother beckoned on me and I walked to her.

“What's going on?” I asked and Mother hushed me, smiling sadly and she touched my hair.

“Daisy. It's been Six years since you clocked Twelve. And you still haven't been able to shift into your wolf form.” Father said.

Why is he reminding me this is no strange news?

“Yeah. She's the outcast of the pack.” One of the kids said and I glared at her.

“Shut up.” I growled.

“Daisy. Be nice.” Mother scolded gently and I rolled my eyes and turned to Father.

“What about my not being able to Shift Father? The seer already told you that it wasn't my fault and that it would be rectified soon.” I said calmly, trying hard not to cry.

“Soon. It has now turned to six years. I announced that you would be unable to become Luna if you didn't  shift into your wolf before the time when I'll step down from Pack duties.” Father said and I sighed.

“Is this the right time to tell me that I can be Luna even without having a wolf? People have done it. I have proven myself  good enough to handle pack duties, even without being given a wolf form. I am the only person from this pack to have gotten early Admission into the University of Arizona. To study Medicine.” I said and Mother gasped.

“You got in early to the University of Arizona?” Mom asked and I nodded.

“Yes. I did. And I have an admission into the Arizona State school of Business. To study Business  Management.” I said.

The state of Arizona is the headquarters of all the seven packs ruled by the Alpha King of all Kings where both human and werewolf exist. It's a well developed city where every pack is under, including my father's pack but located in the same geographical area more like a country and the packs are like states under it.

“That's where you belong. Among the Nerdy puny weak Human world.” The girl said and I glared at her.

“What have you achieved? Apart from looking like a cheap slut you probably are.” I fired.

“Daddy. Did you hear what she just called me?” She said looking at Father and I nearly staggered in shock.

“Did you just call my Father Daddy?!” I asked.

“Yes. That is the reason I called you here. These are your Twin step siblings, Nicole and Nathan. And that's your stepmother, Gianna. They'll be moving in and living here from today.”
