“Tell me then, what drew you to seek me out after all this time?” he asked, looking genuinely curious.

His glass was set down and his arms crossed over his chest as he gave me his full attention.

I sucked in a deep. “Because I just…I just found out, only a few days back and I’m...working on finding a permanent happiness for myself so I knew I had to find you, I had to get the closure I needed in order to move forward. I’ve always wanted to know why my family hated me, It felt like a wound that could never heal the longer it festered,” I let out a heavy sigh at the end of my sentence, feeling a heavy weight leave my chest the deeper I spoke about it.

Theo’s expression was unreadable, giving no hint whether my words were heard by him. Then after a few seconds, he blinked once, clearing his throat.
