**Twenty minutes later**
Good job Ciandra first mission is done, now you have to be a diplomat and help the young man talk the issue out with Beta Pierre. She thought as she listened to the young man in his mid-twenties. Things turned out okay, the hunters were furious at Beta Pierre as it wasn’t his first time disturbing them.
“What is the meaning of this?” Beta Pierre and his stupid face asked Alpha Ciandra.
“Alphonso is asking for you.” A wolf she has never spoken to told her.
“I believe you will handle this well, Pierre.” She said as she looked at the human with assurance, she was sure he was reasonable and wouldn’t start a fight. For Beta Pierre, Alpha Ciandra hoped he heard the warning in her tone.
Walking towards the packhouse behind the wolf, Alpha Ciandra once again noticed the quietness of the Dark Shadow Pack. Yes, most of the time the Vagabond Pack was busy training, but at least anyone could hear them talking, evident enough the pack was inhabited. This… the silence. It was something she couldn’t place her finger on.
The wolf opened the door leading to the first room she had been sitting in the first day of arrival and Alpha Alphonso was sure the wolf who escorted her was out of the hearing shot, he yelled, “sit, now!"On the floor? And why did he wait for the wolf to leave completely? She pondered. She couldn’t help but wonder if perhaps it was because he was showing respect. As she walked to where Alpha Alphonso was, she looked at the wolves staring at her.
Around a hundred pairs of eyes were on her but only two pairs stood out, Elder Karela’s furious ones and Elder Delora’s disappointed ones. "What is the meaning of this?" She asked.
Elder Delora stood, and for the second time since she arrived, she was sat in the middle of the room, a room she had come to learn was named ‘the Shadow Court.’
“You have wronged us.” Elder Delora said.
She gazed at everyone in the pack and then returned her gaze to Elder Delora, "care to explain?"
"You ordered Elder Karela not to use magic against the hunters, prolonging the time we had to fight those morons."
She almost scoffed.
Standing, as a loyal soldier, she placed her hands behind her back, calmly and collected, she said, "it only took us what? Twenty minutes to handle the hunters? They were harmless and only driven by anger towards Beta Pierre. They didn’t even plan to be here in the first place.”
"We will handle Beta Pierre ourselves, the problem is you." Elder Delora pointed.
Making eye contact with Alpha Alphonso who was staring at her with a smile on, she explained, "I am here to protect the pack and if I see fit not to fight, that is it. Sometimes, we don’t have to fight by our hands but by our words.”
“I don’t recall asking for a diplomat, Alpha Ciandra. We need warriors and warriors fight.” Elder Delora retorted. While another in the middle of the room said, “we don't care what you think.”
Am I in court defending myself for doing something right? Alpha Ciandra wondered. Everything happening right now was the complete opposite of what she thought would happen.
"We have our alpha here, you breathe because of us, for us, and if we perish you will be nothing." Another elder spoke.
God dang it! Alpha Ciandra cursed as she stared at Alpha Alphonso. Was she the only one with knowledge of what was inside the letter? How soon have they forgotten they asked her not a few weeks ago to lead the pack?
“Alpha Ciandra, why did you order Elder Karela and who gave you the permission to?” Elder Delora asked, clearly, expecting Alpha Ciandra to have understood what the other elder have said about her only living because of them.
“I apologize, Elder Karela.” Alpha Ciandra apologized. If the elder accepted her apology, at least one problem would be out of the way.
The elder leaned forward, “apologies not accepted, we have a meeting later with Elder Delora.”
Alpha Alphonso cleared his throat, “elders, I am sorry for the confusion of today, I will talk to Alpha Ciandra myself. But first thing first, you should visit the Tagadi Town leader and speak to him about his children. Hopefully, he will understand and we won't have to murder anyone. Right, Alpha Ciandra?" He smiled sweetly at Ciandra.
Alpha Alphonso dismissed the wolves who left while glaring at Alpha Ciandra, she heard them saying, "she isn't our alpha."
Beta Pierre came into the room, she went to Alpha Alphonso and whispered something into his ear. They all looked at Alpha Ciandra at once then returned their gazes to the five elders who didn’t leave.
For a minute, they looked at each other, then as if being controlled, they all stared at Alpha Ciandra. If she hadn’t been used to being the center of attention during meetings and training back in her pack, she would have huddled herself into a corner.
"Alpha Ciandra, it has come to our attention that you are disturbed." Beta Pierre said.
"Excuse me?" Asked Alpha Ciandra.
"Words on the street is that you left the Vagabond Pack while in distress."
She stared, did they do a background check on her? The audacity of the elders had.
"Alpha Craton." Elder Delora spoke. This made her stop.
Slowly, emotionless, she asked, "what about Alpha Craton?"
"He hasn't returned to the Vagabond Pack and it seems like you are worried about him.” Elder Delora reported. “We know it is against your pack’s rule but we wanted to let you know. To let you be at ease, you know?”
Funny how they defined being at ease. How is the news of her father's no return put her at ease? By now, Alpha Ciandra has learned why she was always leading meetings. If she didn’t know better, she would have thought Elder Delora was the alpha and not Alpha Alphonso.
"I officially welcome you to my pack, Alpha Ciandra." Alpha Alphonso announced.
"Thank you." She said
"Good. You heard the last line, yeah?" Beta Pierre asked.
Good heavens, they were getting under her skin. She nodded.
Alpha Alphonso slapped her back, “good, it is my pack, our pack, and not yours. You are welcome to order the wolves once in a while but not the elders or Beta Pierre.”
"Sure.”
"Okay, I don’t like your attitude, talk to her later and make her understand, Alpha Alphonso.” An elder said with disdain in her tone.
"And you, Alpha Alphonso?" Alpha Ciandra blurted.
A knowing look passed on his eyes, dirty and evil, everyone stared at him, waiting to see if he would go crazy, instead, he surprised them, he chuckled, “the elder is right, we must talk.”
"Understood, Alpha Alphonso."
"Are you competent enough to be a warrior or should we return you to your pack?" The elders asked simultaneously as if they have been waiting for her to reply to the alpha.
"I am competent." Her voice spoke of power, assurance, and confidence. They nodded and looked at their alpha.
"Leave for Tagadi Town and meet its leader. When you return, find me immediately.” Alpha Alphonso dismissed her.
“Of course, Alpha Alphonso.” She turned on her heels, mind in turmoil, neither did she expect the pack to lay down the red carpet for her nor ululate and declare adoration at her, but she knew it wasn’t how they should talk to her.
She was the great alpha Ciandra and not a servant.
The meeting with Tagadi Town's leader went surprisingly well, just like the hunters’ leader, he promised to speak to the teenagers so long as they speak to Pierre about his behavior. Alpha Ciandra was glad they had a consensus because she needed to think of mate shit. As they returned, the two elders spoke to each other in hush tones, she kept hearing them mentioning her name, and not once did she ask them why they were being disrespectful. So long as they didn’t speak to her, she was okay. After all, she needed alone time and in whatever way it came, she embraced it. Unfazed, she walked beside them as if they were speaking about fresh vegetables at the market town and not about her. When they arrived at the Dark Shadow Pack, she narrowed her eyes at the two she-wolves guarding the gate, they looked down in respect but something told her it was directed to the two elders and not her. "Go report to him." Elder Kalera said firmly. Alpha Ciandra nodded slightly and walked towards the pa
Most of the werewolves in the Vagabond Pack never talked of these topics; sex, mate, heat, and anything else regarding touching bodies intimately. Why would they anyway when they had packs to protect? And not once did they sit down and start discussing the possibilities about mates, it was important because no one has ever announced they needed a mate or they have met one. No one in the pack had a mate, or so she believed, now, she was unsure if no one had. The fact that she couldn’t help but think someone had but since they never spoke about mates eat her up as she huddled herself in the corner feeling small with no answer. The Vagabond Pack werewolves would summarize every fighting scene in one go and would fight anything and anyone without batting an eyelash. Indeed, they were the chosen pack only meant to be warriors. Most of the warriors in the Vagabond Pack didn’t know their parents because they were brought as pups from Pryden, House of Noirin. When she was old enough, she
[ALPHA ALPHONSO] “I, Alpha Alphonso of the Dark Shadow Pack, accept you, Alpha Ciandra Craton of the Vagabond Pack.” He paused, taking in Alpha Ciandra’s shaken figure. “Now, accept me.” He ordered. Her lips parted as he stared at him with fury, the vehement in her eyes visible. Alpha Alphonso looked behind her as if waiting for something, for someone. He moved to her, she moved back. When her back hit the door, he raised his hand and asked, “chose between marking you or accepting me.” As much as he wanted to hear her answer, the person he was waiting to come through seemed to take all the time he had in the world. Where the fuck are you?” He cursed, returning his attention to Alpha Ciandra, he pushed his knee onto her thigh and whispered, “Ciandra, when I said I love patient mates, I forgot to mention something. I am not patient myself. You see, two opposites attract, and if both of us are patient, this relationship won’t work.” “Move away, you…” “That can’t work, I am wait
[ALPHA ALPHONSO] ******** How could he make her accept him? He wasn't a patient man when it came to what he wanted. He rubbed his feet together, wondering what he must do and immediately. He was horny, he had been so busy with the meeting that he never got the time to fuck one of the she-wolves who had kept stuffing her boobs into his face. And with his mate inside the pack, he wanted a release more than anything. "What if she plays hard to get? What then?" He wondered and sat up. How far would he go? "You are the alpha, now, think of what you will do without crushing her." Remembering his position, his duty, he couldn't help but remember her duties too. It was a hinder and he hated it. He was the alpha first, and as such, his pack’s safety came first. Knowing well the importance of Ciandra inside his pack, he had to make sure not one thing would hinder her work. He knew what a warrior meant, the values of the Vagabond Pack, and the duties laid upon them from years ago un
"Accept me! Accept me!" Those words rang inside her head as she pushed past the wolves standing in the hallways as if they couldn't see her. She could feel bile rising in her throat, she rubbed her mouth with pure disgust on her face, she wanted to get a soap, wash her mouth with and forget the man’s lips and tongue on her. "Who does he think he is?" She cussed, staring ahead of her, her mind and heart thinking of two different things. Her heart kept asking her to forget what had happened and checked on what Callister meant by Beta Pierre was in deep shit, while her mind kept telling her to head back to her bedroom, brush her teeth and return to find Alpha Alphonso and give him a mouthful of her thoughts. It was her fucking first kiss and to think it was with that man, forcefully to make matters worse. She grunted when a wolf stood in front of her, "what?" She growled. “You are needed at the gate, immediately." "And where is it that you think I am going?" She wanted to ask, in
She watched the man leaving with his shoulders slumped, although she didn’t have the experience of mates, for a few seconds she thought he was acting the correct anyone would if they were in his shoes. Looking around, her stomach sunk, she missed her pack, her home. Most importantly, she missed visiting the Shutter Island and Pryden, House of Noirin. Thinking of the two houses and the mating issue, a weird thought crossed her mind, wondering what if her pack members visited them without her knowledge. “No. They could never hide something useful from me.” Self-doubt and regrets were something she didn’t want to exhibit. But really, how long would she be doing this? How soon will she get an answer if she indeed has a mate and how ate her up? “Accept him and move on, what would happen if you do anyway?” A tiny insecure voice told her. “Hell no.” She couldn’t, not now, not ever. The moon goddess already stated the pack was to be mateless and unaffected by the heating season. So far, s
There's one rule everyone knows, never follow anyone blindly if you don't want to and Alpha Ciandra knew that better than anyone. But what would she do? Stomp her feet down saying she didn’t want to go? She cussed Beta Pierre for leaving her with him. They had a meeting inside the forest and she had been looking forward to it because she also had something important to ask him regarding the pack’s luna. She hasn’t stopped wondering where the woman went, for the weeks inside the Dark Shadow Pack, neither had she seen her nor heard anyone speak of her. It was as if she had disappeared into thin air, she couldn’t say the luna was dead because if she had been dead, she would have known. So, where was the luna? Did she know someone else was her husband's mate or so he claimed? How was she not thinking of asking the man in front of her? He surely would answer it correctly and faster. How would she start the questioning anyways? Alpha Ciandra felt like the only thing she had been doin
**WARNING** An eerie silence welcomed her when she entered Alpha Alphonso’s office, before she climbed into her bed, Callister had come to call her, informing her the alpha needed a word with her. And from how things went from the cave to the packhouse earlier, Alpha Ciandra was a hundred percent sure the man wanted to talk things about the pack. The small light from outside dimly lit the office, she couldn’t miss the interior design of the office. It was breathtaking, and well arranged with his cologne lingering on the air. Alpha Ciandra saw a piece of paper on the table, she picked it up, and for a few seconds, she admired the handwriting, the words were written meticulously as if they had all the time in the world. She read, "you left me. Alone." She rolled her eyes and proceeded, "I have gone to my bedroom to freshen up, I will be waiting for you in my office there. Hurry. It is important." Giving the office one last look, she folded the paper and dropped it in her pocket.
