***Desmond’s POV***
I nearly pounded Glenn’s head into the sidewalk. I felt like I had made progress with Olivia. She opened up a little, allowing me in and allowing me to help. Sure it was not without a bit of stubbornness but she did nonetheless. That was a huge step forward. I wanted to have dinner with her. I wanted to see if I could help her pick out what she needed tomorrow. Glenn had already pissed her off this morning by contacting me. While I didn’t understand the intricacies of Olivia’s fey connection, it was obvious in her distaste of the title Princess. He pushed and she did what she does best, Olivia left.

For the umpteenth time today, I wondered how I had gotten here. A glass of bourbon in my hand as I leaned over the bar. My eyes shut, finally unable to keep them open. Leaning back in the hospital chair, my hand was holding Olivia’s still. I refused to let her go. I told her I wouldn’t and I refused. Pulling into her driveway, it was quiet. I jumped out and slammed the door shut. Nasir pushed the front door open and barked at me when I smiled. Waking up in my mates arms was something I never thought I would experience. This morning though, having her curled up against me. Her hair splayed out my arm and her breath brushing my skin. ***Olivia’s POV***It was fucking chaos. Nasir has heard them coming first. I knew the south side was getting hit with an attack. Kit and Frank headed up the north end security and would come by every so often to keep me updated. This was the first time we had been hit on two fronts. I guessed they were trying to move the forces around, hitting the south and then coming in from the north with the actual warriors. What they didn’t realized is that Nasir and I were part of the defense.As much as Desmond had said no, or really Aamon, put his foot down. Who was he to order me around?
