“There is a fucking jet tub in this place. This place is like three times the size of my house.”
I laughed, pulling off my shirt and laying it on the back of the chair. Olivia had gone to explore the suite. It was lovely. She had opened up the glass doors and you could hear the waves from the ocean and smell the salt in the air. It was lovely. California never seemed to get cold and so even in March it was a nice seventy-six degrees.
The water for the tub started and I smiled. Apparently, the call of the jet tubs was too much. She came out of the bathroom and she reached along her back, unzipping her dress. Once she threw her dress to the side, she gave me a goofy smile. I soaked up the sight. She hadn’t been wearing a bra and the black thong she had chosen was leaving nothing to the imagination. Aamon was pacing, wanting to take her right there but I managed to hold myself back.
Olivia looked down and I saw a shy look on her face I rarely ever
'Alpha!''Kind of busy Frank.'I jumped over a fallen tree and took hold of the neck of the closest wolf to me. Shaking it, I felt the bones snap under my jaws and let go. The smoke covered all sight and stung my nose. Even this far away, the waves of heat singed my fur.'Alpha they have started to attack from the north as well!'I cursed. We had been dealing with the random waves of attacks from a mixture of rogues and Alpha James’ warriors. They were trying to wear us down. Two days ago they set fire to the southeastern part of the forest. It was quick to go into flames but the fey on the territory protected our side the forest. The fire still burned south and filled the area with smoke. We had to be extra careful before the humans decided to send multiple divisions of fire fighters to battle it. Luckily it was further south but when one would wander north, I tried to adjust our entire patrol around them.It took
My eyes shut, finally unable to keep them open. Leaning back in the hospital chair, my hand was holding Olivia’s still. I refused to let her go. I told her I wouldn’t and I refused. Even Aamon came forward to growl at anyone who suggested it. He even offered to take over for a while for me to get some rest but right now it was our body, not my mind, that was finally giving out. I adjusted my back and heard it crack three times to emphasize my thoughts. It was too much though, and I finally started to fall asleep. Until I felt her fingers twitch. My eyes flung open and I leaned over, looking at her face.“Olivia?”Her eyes fluttered open and looked at my face. Tears started to fill her eyes and I shook my head. Sitting on the edge of her bed, I held her gingerly, avoiding shifting her shoulder.“You’re okay. Everything is okay. Don’t cry my love. Please don’t cry.”“I tried to get them all.
Pulling into her driveway, it was quiet. I jumped out and slammed the door shut. Nasir pushed the front door open and barked at me when I smiled. Walking up the steps, I grabbed the door he held open for me. Olivia was sitting on the bench, a mug of tea in her hands. She was staring at it until I closed the door behind me. Looking up, she smiled.“Hey.”“Hey to you too.” I said before coming over and kissing her forehead. “You seemed to be mulling around in your thoughts. Everything okay?”She nodded and set her mug down. Getting up, I watched as she pulled a mug from her pile on the kitchen table and fill it with the tea she had been brewing. I took it from her but before she could walk away, I brushed the hair off her shoulder. Four angry scars shone red on her skin but they were healed.“Mother fixed them.”My hand brushed the skin and she shivered under my touch. “You okay?”Her
Waking up in my mates arms was something I never thought I would experience. This morning though, having her curled up against me. Her hair splayed out my arm and her breath brushing my skin. I couldn’t remember the last time I had slept so hard and felt so rejuvenated when I woke up. Nuzzling into her, taking in her scent, I closed my eyes again. I must have fallen back asleep because when I woke up again, I was alone. The door was open and sunlight was shining through the window. I could see Olivia, dressed in some black jeans and a band shirt, moving around the stove. Getting up, I stretched and heard the multitude of cracks down my back. Olivia turned, eye brows raised. “Shit Desmond, that sounded awful.” Sticking my tongue out, I shook my head. “Getting old isn’t all it’s cracked up to me.” Olivia giggled. “I get it…cracked up…” With my head shaking, I got up and got dressed. My shirt was wrinkled after being crumpled all night and I trie
***Olivia’s POV***It was fucking chaos. Nasir has heard them coming first. I knew the south side was getting hit with an attack. Kit and Frank headed up the north end security and would come by every so often to keep me updated. This was the first time we had been hit on two fronts. I guessed they were trying to move the forces around, hitting the south and then coming in from the north with the actual warriors. What they didn’t realized is that Nasir and I were part of the defense. As much as Desmond had said no, or really Aamon, put his foot down. Who was he to order me around? I still joined the patrols and the patrols made room for me. I would even have some of them rest at my house why I took over if they looked too exhausted. Now though, I was glad I was refueled and ready to go. My swords glinted in the light as we attacked as many as possible.Apparently, my appearance halted their progress. They had all focused on me and I kne
I had woken up in the hospital with Desmond holding my hand. He looked terrible. His eyes were sunken in and his complexion was pale. He looked like the life had been drained out of him. Whatever he was wearing was also too big. It made him look small and I hated it. It made him look hollow. As soon as I could, I pulled him next to me. I already knew what they were going to say. I knew that if I lived through the attack I wouldn’t be able to use my right arm again. The fact that it worked at all was a testament to the doctors here. What I didn’t appreciate was Vic getting mad enough to want to reach out to Tatiana. She was the last person I wanted to be added to this mix. Healing me came with a price and I was worried this price would be too high. It was getting higher and higher, her meddling in my life getting worse. Vic didn’t understand and he just focused on the fact that I wouldn’t be able to move my arm or fight. After he stormed out, I knew I w
I scratched Nasir’s head. “Sorry. You won’t be able to come with me. I’ll be back soon. I promise.” He whined and nuzzled my hand. “I know. I know. I’ll be back. Promise.” I kissed his head and reached out Tatiana. Normally, her portals were like a pool shimmering in the air. Rippling as you stepped through. This one though was significantly different. It had green tints to the magic. It was more like a tear in the air rather than a ripple of water. Tatiana pulled me through and the magic made me gasp. It was so potent and all consuming, I stumbled. If Tatiana hadn’t been holding me, I probably would have fallen. “Come my dear daughter.” I nodded and took a deep breath. The surroundings now familiar to me. It was nearly the same white vines and stairs that the council room had but instead of opening up into a meeting place, it lead to a small pool. In the center of the pool was a tree that reach
I sat at the table with Liam. He was nervously running his hands over his pants. I took his hand and smiled.“Sorry.” He mumbled.I laughed. “Liam, relax. They are just your parents. Don’t be so nervous.”Just as I said it, Desmond and Helena walked into the cafe. Liam waved and I could see the look of shock on both of their faces but Helena’s quickly turned to anger. She whispered something to Desmond and he looked at her, narrowing his eyes. They walked over to us and I smiled. Liam shifted in his seat.“We waited to order.” I stood up. “I’ll got get the menus and we can eat.” Liam looked at me, fearful but I smiled. “I’ll be right back.”Going to the counter, I asked for four menus. The woman behind the counter smiled but I could tell she was acutely aware that I was sitting at the table with the Alpha, Luna
