'Kind of busy Frank.'

I jumped over a fallen tree and took hold of the neck of the closest wolf to me. Shaking it, I felt the bones snap under my jaws and let go. The smoke covered all sight and stung my nose. Even this far away, the waves of heat singed my fur.

I cursed. We had been dealing with the random waves of attacks from a mixture of rogues and Alpha James’ warriors. They were trying to wear us down. Two days ago they set fire to the southeastern part of the forest. It was quick to go into flames but the fey on the territory protected our side the forest. The fire still burned south and filled the area with smoke. We had to be extra careful before the humans decided to send multiple divisions of fire fighters to battle it. Luckily it was further south but when one would wander north, I tried to adjust our entire patrol around them.
