Nyra's POV

The moment the last of the three left the chamber, faces drawn tight with guilt and nerves, I could feel the tension in Draven’s shoulders coiling again like a spring. His jaw was locked, his breathing too steady, too calculated. He wasn’t calm. He was containing himself, and barely.

“Walk with me,” I said quietly.

He gave me a sideways glance, as if debating whether now was really the time to walk anywhere instead of tearing into the nearest wall. But eventually, he gave a stiff nod and followed me out of the council wing. Neither of us said a word as we passed through the corridor. The guard's presence was thicker than usual, and I noticed how Draven kept looking over his shoulder every so often. Protective. Paranoid. Both.

We reached the inner gardens, one of the few places within the estate walls that still felt untouched by politics or schemes. Even with the sickness on the land creeping closer every day, the garden bloomed defiantly, roses still crimson and fragrant.

  • Alpha Draven's Regret: The Return of His Rejected Mate   Her Shadow

Draven's POVThe morning air was thick with dew, laced with the scent of fresh soil and wet bark, scents I hadn't smelled in this land for months. It used to reek of decay. The sickness had turned everything stale, heavy, lifeless. But now, the earth was changing beneath our feet, whispering secrets I was only beginning to understand.I walked behind the team of healers as we approached the ridge where the miracle had begun, my boots sinking slightly into soil that no longer crumbled like ash. Every few paces, I found myself pausing, inhaling deeply as if to confirm that what I smelled was real and not some desperate hallucination born from months of hopelessness. They moved with reverence, their hands brushing against low shrubs, fingertips pressed into the soil, eyes narrowed and sharp. Each step we took deeper into the east was like stepping into a dream we hadn't dared to believe in. The light filtered differently through the canopy now, golden rather than the sickly gray that had

  • Alpha Draven's Regret: The Return of His Rejected Mate   Auren's Awakening

Draven’s POVI didn’t remember moving. One second I stood there frozen in the aftermath of the messenger’s words, and the next, I was striding across the field with long, purposeful steps, Auren at my side, the warriors trailing behind me like a quiet tide. The wind had shifted.I could feel it on my skin, not just the breeze but something deeper. Something ancient. The land breathes differently today. We passed the training grounds and crossed the ridge, taking the narrow path that overlooked the eastlands. A few horses were being saddled, but I waved them off. I wanted to see it with my own eyes, on my own terms. The messenger was right. From the top of the hill, I could see it. Green. Lush. A rich, vibrant green that hasn’t touched this part of our territory in nearly half a year. The trees, dead and blackened only days ago, now shimmered with fresh, pale leaves. Grass peeked through the soil. Wildflowers dotted the earth like forgotten dreams coming back to life. The scent of deca

  • Alpha Draven's Regret: The Return of His Rejected Mate   The Return of The Eastland

Draven’s POVThe clang of metal echoed across the field as swords met in a rhythm I knew better than my own heartbeat. The sun was barely above the horizon, but sweat had already beaded on my brow, muscles burning with the satisfying ache of movement. Around me, the warriors sparred and shouted, the air thick with laughter, grunts, and the occasional barked command. This was what I needed. The simplicity of the fight. No politics. No secrets. Just strength. Precision. Brotherhood. And at the center of it all was Auren. He darted between men twice his size, weaving around their legs like a wolf pup with something to prove. I kept one eye on him as I ran drills with two other warriors. He was fast, faster than he used to be. There was more confidence in his steps now, and I could see it in the way he grinned when one of the warriors tried and failed to catch him mid-sprint.“Careful, Rogan!” someone called out. “You’ll pull something trying to keep up with the boy!”Rogan let out a whee

  • Alpha Draven's Regret: The Return of His Rejected Mate   Unmasking Betrayal

Nyra's POVThe door thudded shut behind the last council member, the final echo swallowed by the stone walls. What remained was stillness, and the stifling tension that came with it.Three faces remained in the chamber: Elandra, Breck, and Orrin. All seasoned council members. All once trusted. And all now sitting at the table, flanked by their Alpha and me.Or, more accurately, flanked by their reckoning.Draven said nothing. His silence was weighty, intentional. It made them nervous. Good. They should be.I stepped forward, eyes scanning the three as I folded my arms across my chest. “Let’s not waste time. This isn’t a formality, and it isn’t a discussion. This is a search for the truth. One of you knows what Selene is up to. Possibly all of you.”Breck scoffed, leaning back in his chair. “Selene left on her own accord. Isn’t she out east? If she’s plotting something, it’s not our concern anymore.”I arched an eyebrow. “Is that why she’s been writing letters to Orrin? To avoid meetin

  • Alpha Draven's Regret: The Return of His Rejected Mate   A New Dawn for the Pack

Draven's POVThe room had never been so quiet. Not even during the final rites of the last Alpha. Silence had weight here, a sharp-edged reverence that seemed to press against my skin, filling the spaces between heartbeats. The grand council chamber, with its ancient wooden panels and high ceilings, normally buzzed with whispers and shifting bodies. Today, it held its breath. And Nyra had become the storm they never saw coming.I looked at her. Not just looked, really looked. The sunlight streamed through the tall windows, catching her dark hair, highlighting the fierce determination in her amber eyes. She'd never looked more beautiful to me than she did standing there, owning every inch of the space she'd been denied for so long. This was no longer the woman who walked back into my territory three weeks ago with caution in her eyes and pain barely stitched beneath her skin. The woman who flinched at sudden movements and kept one hand always protectively near her side, as if ready to

  • Alpha Draven's Regret: The Return of His Rejected Mate   A Challenge to Authority

Draven’s POVI had just sat, letting the weight of my words seep into every corner of the great hall, when one of the elders stood.I wasn’t surprised it was Elder Varek. The boldest among them. Proud. Sharp-tongued. Loyal to the old ways, but only when they served him.He didn’t bother with formality. “With all due respect, Alpha,” he said, lifting his chin, “you speak of betrayal, but didn’t you abandon Selene the moment Nyra returned?”A few heads turned. A few eyes widened.Varek continued, undeterred. “You could have kept her as your mistress, your private consort, if you were so determined to mend what was broken. Selene has ruled beside you for years. She’s earned her place. She was our Luna in every way that mattered. The pack loved her. Still loves her. And yet you discarded her the instant Nyra came back into the picture.”I leaned forward slowly.Every word he’d just spoken was a dagger. He knew it.But I was the one holding the sword.“I didn’t abandon Selene,” I said cool

  • Alpha Draven's Regret: The Return of His Rejected Mate   The Reckoning of an Alpha

Draven’s POV“Send word to the elders and council,” I growled at the guard by the eastern corridor. “Now. Tell them it’s an emergency meeting. Every seat in that hall had better be filled within the hour.”He bowed, eyes wide with barely concealed fear, and rushed off without a word.I didn’t have time for careful strategies anymore. Things had shifted beneath my feet, and if I didn’t reestablish control now, I wouldn’t just lose influence, I’d lose everything.Selene’s betrayal wasn’t a petty rebellion. It was a message. She was declaring herself separate from me. From the pack. From the power I carried. And judging by the silence in the corridors this morning, by the way my guards avoided my gaze and the staff hesitated before answering my questions, she wasn’t alone.A rot had begun spreading through Crescent Moon. One I hadn’t seen. Ones I hadn’t wanted to see.I turned away and headed toward Nyra’s chambers.I didn’t knock. Our doors are connected now, the lock between our rooms

  • Alpha Draven's Regret: The Return of His Rejected Mate   The Silent Exit

Draven’s POVI knew she was slipping from my grasp, but I thought I had more time. The moment Nyra and Auren returned, something shifted in Selene. Not that she was ever balanced to begin with, but I saw it in her eyes, a glint of something sharp and poisoned. Resentment. Possessiveness. A hunger that had very little to do with family and everything to do with control.I let it slide. I told myself she was just adjusting, feeling replaced, maybe, but nothing she couldn’t handle. I thought, She’s Selene. She throws tantrums, she pushes boundaries, and then she comes back when she’s calmed down. But this… this was something else.I stood outside the chambers I’d given her not three weeks ago, private, spacious, and far more than she deserved. The guards looked nervous when they saw me approach, though neither dared meet my eyes. The door was already cracked open. Strange.I pushed it wider, a pit forming in my stomach.Empty. Completely and utterly empty. The bed was stripped. The wardr
