The silver tray in my hands rattled as I set it down on Marcus’s study table, alongside a stack of fresh notebooks, three sharpened pencils, and a pot of steaming tea I specifically told the kitchen to make bitter enough to keep him awake through three hours of mandatory torture—I mean, lessons.

“Does this look like a workspace for a spoiled man-child who thinks books are venomous spiders?” I muttered, adjusting the angle of the teacup just so. “Yes. Perfect. He’ll hate it.”

I had just finished fluffing the chair cushion with all the grace of a resentful ghost when one of the junior maids peeked into the room.

“Miss Raine?” she said cheerfully, as if my day hadn’t already started with soul-crushing humiliation. “Lady Penelope wants to see you!”

I blinked. “She… wants what now?”

The maid smiled like this was totally normal. “She said—and I quote—‘Tell that new broom girl to come to me immediately!’”

“...Where is she?” I asked, already feeling the secondhand migraine forming.

“She’s at

  • Alpha Enemy, Lover Mine   By Law or By Morality?

The council hall of Lavigne Pack was heavy with voices. The Elders sat at the long table, their robes pristine, their faces sharp and lined with judgment. Their voices clashed against one another, a storm of arguments bouncing from wall to wall.“Laura is the only heir of Lucas,” one Elder declared, pounding his fist against the table. “With him gone, the bloodline is clear. She must step forward.”“Step forward?” another scoffed. “That cursed girl is why our Alpha is dead in the first place. You would hand our future to the very cause of our downfall?”“Enough!”“No—let them speak!” a third Elder barked. “This is not a matter of grief. This is a matter of survival. Whether we like it or not, Laura Lavigne carries his blood. No one else can claim the throne legitimately.”“And what good is blood,” the second Elder snapped back, “if it’s tainted?”The argument raged on.Half the council demanded tradition. The other half demanded punishment. And at the head of the table, seated in her

  • Alpha Enemy, Lover Mine   The Hope of Lavigne

Lavigne Pack. The war room was silent. The moon hung high above the frosted windows, casting silver shadows along the cold stone floor. A breeze stirred the tapestries. But inside, nothing moved — except for Valencia Lavigne. She paced. Not in anger. Not in command. But in something more dangerous.Something calm.Colin stood near the edge of the room, watching her with furrowed brows. His arms were crossed tightly over his chest, anxiety stiffening his posture. He didn’t dare speak. Not yet.Not until she broke the silence herself.“Still no updates?” Valencia asked, voice like a blade sheathed in velvet.Colin shifted. “Still not yet, Luna.”Valencia stopped walking. Her eyes stayed on the floor for a moment. Then — her hand pressed gently to her chest. Her breath hitched. She closed her eyes. Something invisible had struck her. Not a wound… but something deeper. A crack in something she’d buried long ago.She inhaled slowly. Then turned her gaze toward Colin.“Do you really think…”

  • Alpha Enemy, Lover Mine   The Rage of Alpha's Daughter

The battlefield stank of blood and fire.Laura ran. Her feet were blistered, her cloak torn and bloodied. Her lungs burned from the fighting she’d just pushed through — the wolves of Solmere, dozens of them, had lunged at her the moment she broke from the ceremonial hall. She tore through them with nothing but claws, teeth, and fury. The ground was littered with their bodies. But it had slowed her.Too long.Too late. And then she saw them.“No…”Her steps faltered as her eyes locked on the broken figures in the clearing ahead.Levi — slumped on one side, his bare chest rising only faintly.Lucas — blood trickling from his mouth, his Alpha mark flickering like a dying flame. They had both shifted back into their human forms. That only ever meant one thing. They were too weak to hold the wolf anymore.Laura dropped to her knees. It felt like the ground had cracked beneath her.Everything inside her went still.“Father…” Her voice broke as she crawled forward, her fingers digging into t

  • Alpha Enemy, Lover Mine   The Night Full of Blood

The sky above the Solmere Pack was a deep shade of blue, heavy with tension. The wedding bells had gone eerily silent.A low growl vibrated across the clearing.Lucas Lavigne stood shoulder to shoulder with his son Levi — surrounded.Wolves from every side. Warriors bearing the black insignia of Solmere, fangs bared, eyes gleaming with anticipation. Sentries filled the treetops. Shadows shifted behind them, cloaked wolves emerging from places no one should’ve been able to hide.Lucas’s hands were clenched at his sides, barely restraining his shift. He’d come with a dozen of his best — to retrieve his daughter. To confront the mockery of an event Carlos Solmere dared to call a wedding. And now, every one of his men was outnumbered three to one. This wasn’t a union. It was a trap.Levi, to his credit, didn’t flinch. He had his father’s stance — firm, calculating — but his teeth were clenched, his fury barely masked.“Where the hell is my daughter, Joaquin?” Lucas barked, voice like thun

  • Alpha Enemy, Lover Mine   The Revelation

The courtyard buzzed with laughter and movement, petals dancing in the breeze like confetti.Laura pushed past a group of warriors carrying wine casks, her cloak whipping behind her. She could hear the distant sound of instruments tuning, the drums of a slow ceremonial rhythm beginning to pound from inside the great hall. Each step made it harder to breathe.Every lantern, every silver ribbon, every smile worn by strangers she didn't know — all of it tightened around her like a noose. This isn't real. It can’t be real. He wouldn’t—She reached the marble steps of the grand hall and shoved past a startled omega who tried to offer her a wrapped flower crown. But before she could cross the threshold—A hand gripped her wrist. She spun around sharply—Only to meet Carlos's eyes. His chest heaved like he’d been running. His suit jacket was half-buttoned, and his hair slightly disheveled — like he had just ripped himself from some ceremonial dressing room.“Laura—”She didn’t wait. Her hand

  • Alpha Enemy, Lover Mine   Wedding Of The Year

Branches cracked beneath their boots as they ran.The night air was thick with the scent of pine, wild moss, and danger. Leaves scratched at their cloaks. Thorns caught at their legs. But neither Laura nor Helda stopped. They ran like wolves chased them.Because in a way — they were. Finally, the trees began to thin. The forest opened. And the wind shifted. They were close.Laura stumbled forward, chest heaving, until the trees parted just enough to reveal the clearing. The invisible line that split the territories in two.Lavigne behind them. Solmere ahead.Laura froze.Helda came to a stop beside her, panting hard, hands on her knees.“This,” Helda rasped, “is as far as I go.”Laura’s eyes scanned the treeline ahead. The border pulsed with something heavy — not magic, but something older. Tension. History. War.She nodded slowly.“Thank you,” Laura said. She turned, ready to step forward—But Helda grabbed her wrist.Absolutely — this is a turning point in Laura’s emotional arc. For
