My heart dropped to my chest as I heard the number of bullets that were fired.

The smell of blood filled my nostrils, and I closed my eyes, avoiding looking at the bodies of men and women that hit the ground as they took their last breaths.

Ezra, who was in the center, watching them as they fell, didn’t say a word.

He turned around to face me, and I dared look behind him at the bodies that fell. His mum who was sitting on a chair, cried as she watched the result of her actions.

I knew that the vision of the bodies would remain in my head, but I also knew that it was needed to ensure the pack’s safety. If anyone found out about this, ignoring the fact that those who have betrayed could have hurt the pack itself from the inside, others would have tried to dare do something similar, and that is something that I knew Ezra couldn’t risk living through.

He nodded at me, allowing me to go inside, but I shook my head, letting him know that I was there for him.
