Way Of Saying Thank You

HARIA'S POV

I could sense that something was not right when Jacob rushed to the basketball court. He even ignored my positioning in a fighting stance. And I was right because when I decided to follow him, I witnessed that an intense fight was about to happen between two groups.

I even stepped in between them to try to stop them but I ended up being stuck in the middle of the fight. But somehow, Jacob seemed to protect me and didn't let anyone's attack land on me.

The fight was about to get intense when the bell suddenly rang. Reason for them to stop and Jacob and his two friends started walking out of the basketball court.

My cousin also pulled me out of the court even though I still didn't want to as I wanted to confront the other guy and show him who I am here at the camp of the Blue Blood Pack.

The trainees were already lining up in front of the stage where my brother and a soldier who introduced himself as General Parks were waiting.

My cousin and I were about to line up alongside the female trainees when General Parks called us and made us stand in the front. According to him, before we become official trainees of the Blue Blood Pack, we need to be introduced to all the trainees first.

From the very beginning, I could feel the boredom and while General Parks was speaking, my mind was running far away. I barely understood anything he was saying. I came back to my senses when I heard the hard and authoritative voice of my brother, Alpha Jomer.

"Before we start, I will introduce to you the new trainees who will join you here at the camp," my brother began in a serious and hard voice. Yeah, he's really a bitter one. "The first one standing next to me was Haria Ortiz, she's my sister and daughter of the ruler of our pack. And the one next to her is our cousin, Kate Velez."

The trainees immediately applauded after my brother introduced us to them. Well, we really deserve their recognition of our courage to join the training to be a soldier of our pack.

Kate was very happy and the excitement was evident in her reaction. Meanwhile, I felt disappointed, especially when I heard what my brother said next.

"Haria is the daughter of our ruler and Kate is our cousin, but we encourage you not to give them special treatment because as long as they are here at the training grounds, they are just the same trainees as you," my brother continued.

I rolled my eyes because of frustration but I accidentally turned to Marky and when our eyes met, he even winked at me, making me even more annoyed.

"Now, may I call on Mr. Marky Parks, one of our best trainees?" It was General Parks who spoke. "I am also proud to say that he is my one and only son," he continued as a smile that almost reached his ears drew into his face.

The one he called Marky immediately came forward and stood beside him. The very arrogant and rude beta. And as he walked towards the stage, he didn't take his eyes off me. And he winked at me again when our eyes met.

I cursed in a whisper because of the annoyance I'm feeling for him and gave him a sharp stare.

"So, he's the General's son. That's why he's so rude and arrogant," I whispered and Kate immediately agreed by nodding. She still heard what I said even if it was in a whisper voice.

"May I also call on Mr. Jacob Cabarse? Can you come to the front?" General Parks continued.

And here's another arrogant and assuming beta. He purposely walked in front of me. He's really trying hard to get my attention. But what I noticed from him is his stupidity. Because of glancing at me, he didn't notice the wire connected to the microphone and speaker that he stepped on. And he fell right in front of me. That was unfortunate for him.

I couldn't help but laugh out loud along with some trainees who saw him. The embarrassment he felt was very obvious, especially when he looked at me while I was still laughing.

"What's the problem, Mr. Jacob Cabarse? You're not like that before, ah. You seem tense today." General Parks even joked with him while laughing as well. And he even used a microphone while speaking so the laughter of the other trainees got even louder. "Are you distracted by the presence of our beautiful new trainees Madam Haria Ortiz and Miss Kate Velez?"

Jacob just smiled while shaking his head but he remained speechless. He's trying his best to fight the embarrassment he was feeling. Then, he stood up and walked towards Marky Parks.

"I called these two brave and loyal trainees Marky and Jacob because we want to tell you that you can make them your role models," General Parks continued speaking when the other trainees stopped laughing and my brother's face became serious. My brother is really bitter. He didn't even laugh with us. "Besides the trophy that they got as the champion in the archery competition, they are also the top two trainees to be a soldier of the Blue Blood Pack. They are the best example of how great the members of our pack are."

All the trainees applauded because of what they heard while I just raised my eyebrows. I'm still not convinced about those two arrogant trainees.

"How did they become the best trainees of the Blue Blood Pack? If only they knew how rude those two are," I said to myself while shaking my head. Then, I felt Kate nudge my side softly.

After the boring introduction, we all headed to the training grounds and General Parks began to explain the first activity we were going to do.

"Maybe, almost all of you here are already familiar with the badge collection activity and you already know what to do. But we have new trainees so I will explain the mechanics again," General Parks started speaking in a serious voice. But he still can't get my attention and interest. Yes, I love to fight or be in a battle but I hate attending this kind of nonsense training. I don't need it anymore as I am stronger than them. Only Dad and my brother can take me down.

General Parks continued and unexpectedly, he got my attention for the first time. This is after I heard one of the mechanics of the activity. And that is whoever collects five trainees' badges, can already leave the training grounds today and rest in the barracks. That's interesting. So, I just need to get five badges, then I can leave and rest already? That's great then. It was just a piece of cake for me.

I didn't pay attention to what General Parks said next. I just prepared myself for the start of the activity. I also looked at what the badge looked like and when the General gave the signal, I immediately started to move. But I was stunned when I realized that I didn't know where to get those badges.

Until I felt Kate lightly tap my shoulder. And I immediately came back to my senses.

"You don't know where to go, right, since you don't listen to General Parks?" This cousin of mine really loves to annoy me. Instead of just telling me where to go and where to get those badges.

I faced her as my eyebrows met in the middle. She has already mastered my behavior so even before I could speak, she grabbed me by the arm and pulled me towards the woods.

"The badges are said to be found here in the woods, so let's hurry up and collect them. So that we can rest immediately," Kate said hurriedly. She didn't even give me a chance to speak.

And when we got to the woods, we immediately looked for that fucking badges.

In the middle of our search for that thing, we ran into a trainee but he immediately avoided us and ran away. Kate immediately chased him and attacked him until he fell to the ground. Then, she started searching for something in his body.

"What are you doing, Kate?"

Kate didn't answer right away. Until she got a badge from the male trainee and then she faced me with a smile.

"Because you don't listen to General Parks that's why you don't have an idea." Kate doesn't really know how to answer directly and that's one of the things that annoys me about her. "Don't you know that we can attack our fellow trainees and take the badge they have, if they have one?"

"Really?" I felt excited for the first time in this training after hearing what Kate said. "That's great! It's going to be exciting. I'm beginning to like it already." I was still smiling while talking.

Then, I continued walking and left Kate.

"Where are you going, cousin? Wait for me!"

"I'm going to start hunting, Kate. So hurry up there," I answered without even looking at Kate.

Then, I suddenly fell to the ground and even rolled around when someone suddenly pushed me hard. My body immediately burned with anger and I quickly got up. I just shook my head and the anger I was feeling intensified even more after I recognized who attacked me.

"Marky Parks, the only son of the General. How dare you lay your hands on me!" I said angrily to Marky as I glared at him. "You really have no respect! Maybe you already know me and what I am here at the camp of the Blue Blood Pack. But you're still refusing to respect me."

Marky just smiled like a dog in response to what I said. He's intending to annoy me even more and he seems to be enjoying it a lot.

"You're the daughter of the ruler of our pack and sister of Alpha Jomer. But I remembered that your brother said not to give you special treatment. You're also a trainee so we should treat you accordingly."

I felt even more mad because of what Marky Parks said. He really wanted to test me. In that case, he will get what he wants. That's why I positioned myself in a fighting stance.

"You really want to try me, huh? I didn't beat you at our first encounter but now, I really won't let it go!" My voice was hard as I was challenging him. "You will regret that you chose not to respect me!"

Then, four more trainees came, probably his pets, and surrounded me and Kate. I know that Kate is already scared because she is not used to fighting, especially since we are at a disadvantage in the fight. There are only two of us and we will face five men. But, I'm not afraid at all. I can take them all down.

I was about to start attacking them when suddenly three more male trainees came and started attacking Marky's group. It was Jacob and his two pets who arrived. This beta really wants to get my attention.

They quickly took Marky and his pets down. They didn't even give me a chance to fight and just let me watch them. He purposely showed me how good a fighter he is but I'm still not impressed. He's just an average fighter for me.

After they got the badges that Marky's group had, Jacob came in front of me and handed them to me. Those were five badges, enough for me to leave this place already and rest but I refused to accept that.

"Accept it, Madam Haria. It's your first day and it looks like you're not yet familiar with the activities here at the training camp. We still have a long time to go. Why don't you use that time to rest and prepare yourself for the next day." Jacob was serious and also had respect in his voice now.

"Take it, cousin." I heard Kate whisper and she even elbowed me lightly in the side. This witch seemed thrilled and very impressed with what Jacob had done.

"How about you? I'll just leave you here?" Even though I am often annoyed by this cousin of mine being naughty, I am still worried about her.

"Don't worry about me, cousin. They are here to protect me." Kate even pointed her finger at Jacob and his pet while speaking.

Then, I faced Jacob again. This time, he was already smiling at me, while still waiting for me to take the five badges that he was handing.
