Chapter 45

AVA's POV

Before Hunter could pull me into some kind of magic portal, I was taken back by a pair of cold, brawny arms. Into the darkness I was slowly growing accustomed to.

But when I woke up, I found myself lying in a bed inside a dark room. With my night vision, thankfully I could see in the dark. It looked old-fashioned. It goes with the furniture that looked like it was made over a century ago.

Getting up, I groaned when I sensed a foreboding presence somewhere close to me. I jolted my head up only to meet his gaze, only to hear the clanking of chains as I try to move my hands. My lips snarled when I realize he handcuffed me to the bed.

Instinctively, I let out a growl. I go to move but horror fills me when I look down and my eyes widened. I was naked, with nothing but the fur blanket covering my body and my dignity.
