Chapter 54

AVA’s POV

Zane, or should I say Zanicus, rolled his eyes in annoyance before turning to Vera.

“What is it you want, Vera?” he muttered irritatedly to the woman, whose nostrils are visibly fuming as she shoots me a murderous look. I quickly took a step back, pushing his hands away which made him groan and look at me for a brief moment before Vera stole his attention again.

“I said, what were you doing with this b*tch?! I thought you were going to punish her!” she screamed. Her high-pitched voice hurt my hearing, making me stick my finger to my ear out of need.

She catches me and her brows furrowed so close I didn’t know possible.

“You! You are nothing! Zane is mine you f*cking sl*t” she spat and unfortunately, I heard every word she said. Although it was not pleasant, I did not like being called a slut when she was the one throwing herself at a man who clearly did not want her, or was just using her if I were to guess.

“Shut your mouth, Vera. You are not to insult my mate again,” Zane
