Hey Lovelies, I want to thank everyone who has been supporting me. :) I really would love to hear your thoughts. Hoping to hear from you. XOXO - Yuri Lee
Something was happening. I could hear the urgency from all the nurses and the doctors, but I was just not sure what was happening. The uncertainty itself was unsettling. I could tell that Mika felt the same way as I do. I could see her restlessness as she kept on pacing back and forth on the carpet and then drifting to the window to check on something. All I know is that she had been restless since the alarm about safety went off. But what made it more worrisome was not being able to receive any reply from Mateo or Alejandro. After several minutes, which felt like forever, Mika finally gave up pacing and decided to go out and get some answers for herself, only to bump into my brother, who was about to get in.“Sorry,” Mika said as she stepped aside. “No worries,” my brother replied as Dave pushed her wheelchair. “I was the one who didn’t knock.”“What is happening?” I asked as I looked at my brother for answers. “We heard the alarm went off, and Mateo or Alejandro is not replying.”
When Mateo and I reached the area where my warriors said that they had found the Rogues, we found no one there. There weren’t any traces that would prove that a fight against them had occurred. There were several blood stains that Mateo and I assumed came from the wounded. But other than that, there was nothing else. I felt a vibration from my pocket while the sound of a phone ringing came from Mateo. Both of us took out our phones and looked at each other for a quick second before answering them.“Were you attacked?” Sean said as soon as I picked up his call. “We were,” I replied, before asking him the same question. “Were you attacked?” “Yeah,” he replied, his voice edged with concern. I could hear several voices behind him, which was enough for me to know that he was doing the exact same thing that I was doing, and that is trying to make sense of all this chaos. “Something’s not right,” Sean continued as the shouting in his background got louder. “The allied border is supposed
How do you fix something that’s broken?God, if I knew how, I wouldn’t be sitting here in this sad office thinking of ways to win back the woman I threw away. Thinking back, I don't know when or how Kelly and I started to drift apart. All I know is that now I still have hope to fix what I have broken, no matter how small it may be. I sigh heavily as the thought of visiting Lylia comes into mind. Because there was nothing I wanted more than to have more time with her. To be with her when she wakes up. But I know that’s an impossible wish to ask.Another heavy sigh escaped my lips as I leaned back on my chair, lost in the moment, as my mind continuously thought of ways to fix everything that I did wrong. An urgent knock pulled me away from my thoughts as I asked whoever it was to come in. “Alpha,” One of the pack warriors said as he walked in.“What is it?” I asked, sitting up. With the urgent look on his face and the sound of his voice, something tells me that whatever it was that
When the nurse came out of the double doors and told me that Mateo was a match, it felt like a big burden was lifted from my shoulders, and that I could finally breathe. I also realized that once again, Mateo saved us. Still, it was too early to celebrate. Lylia still has a long way to go before she is finally cured. But I am still glad that we were able to overcome one of the hurdles. It took almost six hours before the transfusion was done. They observed Lylia’s state for another hour before allowing her to be moved. The doctor said that the next few hours are still crucial as we wait for Mateo’s blood to take effect, especially the healing parts of it. As I took the seat on the empty chair beside Lylia’s bed, I finally understood what most of the mothers I met at the Starlight pack said, especially about how painful it was to see your child in pain, and there was nothing that you could do but wait. How you would wish that it were you in that position and not your child. I he
I have done a lot of shitty things in my life, but this was the worst. “In case you forgot, you banished me! You left me and Lylia to die! If Mateo and Alejandro didn’t see us, we would have died. We wouldn’t be here right now!” I paused my heart racing with so much anger. “And you dare ask me why I didn’t tell you? Do you really deserve to be called Lylia’s father? I don’t think so.” Those words haunt me. I watched Kelly's back as her words played on replay in my head. “Do you remember the time when you rejected me?” Kelly asked as she dug her index finger into my chest. “I was supposed to tell you then, but instead of giving me a chance to tell you, you rejected me and chose Merry. But that was not enough, you placed me in jail for something that I didn’t do.”“You pushed Merry!” I shouted, “You killed my child!” “Do you have proof?” She challenged. “Did you see me push her? Or all you have is what Merry told you? You threw everything that we had shared just because she told yo
The secret is finally out. I never wanted to expose it to anyone, but life has a different plan for me. Now, everyone knows the truth, the truth that I promised to bury with me to my grave.I can’t decipher the look that Leo had on his face, and right now, I don’t really care. The people that was surrounding us were all quiet. Even Aiden didn’t ask any questions. I know that all of them are still in shock at my revelation, and I couldn’t really blame them. Because if I were the one on the receiving end, I know that I would also be speechless. But that was the least of my problems. Because right now my priority is Lylia. My daughter was still fighting for her life, and we still need to look for a blood donor. I covered my face with my hands as frustration and desperation were slowly eating me from the inside. “I could donate my blood,” Mateo said, breaking the uncomfortable silence. “I am an O-.” I turned to face him, once again, and he was saving me, saving Lylia. And I couldn’
