“I’ll drive,” Theo says darkly, holding out his hand for my keys.
The guy is a lunatic behind the wheel- but given what’s gone down in the last twelve hours, I don’t dare refuse his request. I’ve been walking on eggshells around my brother, waiting for him to lose his shit on me like he did on Jax. He hasn’t yet, but then again, we’ve barely exchanged words. He showed up at my door this morning, barked orders to pack for Summervale, and now we’re heading out.
Brooke, Theo, and I have been planning on going back home for the weekend and the full moon run, but I didn’t think we were leaving until tomorrow evening. I’m sure the sudden change of plans is largely due to Theo wanting to put distance between himself and Jax or me and Jax; likely both. I’ll go with it for now since everything’s so fresh- Jax will be back with his own pack for the full moon anyways, and hopefully the dust will have settled by the t
C.J. PrimerHi, all! I wanted to address a few things before heading into the weekend. First, ‘hell week’ is over- you can expect things to go up from here. Second, I love that you guys are so invested in this book and these characters and want more, but I’ve got plans this weekend and I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get a bonus chapter up. As always, I’ll try my best! Lastly, I’ve received some comments lately that people feel the chapters of this book have gotten shorter, when in fact they have remained about the same length throughout (with the exception of some ‘extra-long’ chapters). The length of a chapter correlates with the content, and therefore some are shorter while others are longer. Historically, my chapters have tended to get longer toward the end of my books, so you can likely expect more ‘extra-long’ chapters coming up :)
