An eye for an eye…

Ava's point of view

I waited just outside of the cave till everyone was gone and only Kaden was left.

I turn around, my breath hitching in my throat. Kaden was just in front of me, his green eyes casting down on mine. I gulp a little at how intimidating it felt having him this clos up to me. I could feel Sparks light up around my body just having him close.

“Let's talk inside the cave.” He tells me walking back into the cave, I quickly follow behind him.

I was frozen in my spot, just thinking about how Kaden went against his own rules all for me. Usually it was law that anyone caught tresspassing into the midnight pack territory should be executed and their heads put on a spike just outside of the territory to warn wandering intruders, but this was the first time an intruders life would be spared. He chose to save Tasha's life all because of me.

"What is it that you are thinking about?" Kaden asks, with etched brows.

"Wait, you can't read my mind?" I ask him back, completely surprised.
