Chapter 3

“Are you ready? We are going to a party at Jasmine’s house.” he opened the door and led me out.

He led me to his car and opened the door for me before going around to get in himself. “I hope you are ok with the party.” he said. “I had promised to make an appearance and I thought you may enjoy it since I don't think I have ever seen you at a single one of the parties I have ever gone to.”

“The party is a great idea, you are right I don't get out a lot.” I assured him.

“Well I plan to change that kitten.” he game me that cocky smirk that made my heart flutter 

We arrived at the party and again he opened the door of the car for me and held out his hand to assist me in getting out of the car. I couldn't believe what a gentleman he was being. I guess I really don't know him very well as I never would have guessed he would be so chivalrous. I linked my arm in his as we walked into the house. The house was large and modern. Everything was white and silver. There was a sleek design and you could tell that Jasmine’s family had money. The party looked like one of those you see in the movies. There were so many people you could hardly walk through the crowd. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, dancing to the music the DJ was playing and every person I saw had a drink in their hands. Luckily as werewolves alcohol doesn't really affect us in the way it would a human, while we may get a nice buzz we rarely ever get drunk. Kassius led us to the kitchen and grabbed a drink for both of us before pulling me to the dance floor. 

He wrapped his muscular arm around my waist and pulled me in close. I rested my head in the crook of his neck as our bodies moved to the music perfectly in sync with each other. “You look amazing tonight kitten. I can hardly keep my hands off of you” he whispered in my ear. 

“So why keep them off at all?” I teased him.

“You ought not say those things to me, kitten. I am not a shy man, I would have no problem bending you over and having my way with you right here in front of everyone. At least then they would know who you belong to.” he grinned. I have to admit the thought of it made me hot. I felt a pressure building inside my stomach and part of me wanted him to do exactly what he said I wanted people to see we were together and he had claimed me. Although part of me was completely mortified at the idea of such a public display. The one thing I was sure of was that I was very proud to be on the arm of the new beta and one of the hottest men I had ever laid eyes on. 

We danced to a few more songs before finding our way to the beer pong table. Kassius was playing with a couple guys I had seen around school but didn't really know. I stood by his side like the proud date I was as he continued to beat each one of them. 

“I am going to grab another drink, do you want anything?” I whispered to him as he was playing. He pulled me in close and planted a kiss on my lips. His tongue darted into my mouth massaging my own. He grabbed my ass pulling me as close as I could get without even taking a break from the game. His attention was fully on me and he was still beating the person he was playing against. The effortless skill he had was insanely attractive.

“Hurry back kitten.” he grinned as I walked away.

I made my way through all of the bodies on my way to the kitchen. I could hear people talking, some of them were wondering who I was and how I ended up with Kassius. Others knew who I was and still wanted to know how I had ended up at a party with the soon to be Beta. I had to laugh when one girl accused me of being a witch that had put a spell on him to make him want me.

I moved into the kitchen and began pouring myself another drink when I felt a large presence behind me. I turned to see Alpha Kai standing directly behind me. 

“Oh I am sorry Alpha, am I in your way?” I bowed to him.

“Relax Fallon, I am just Kai tonight, no titles needed.” He smiled a genuine smile that brought me back to the days when we were close and I realized how much I missed those days. “So I hear you are here with Kassius, when did that happen?”

“Oh he just asked to take me out earlier today after our meeting, Alpha. I- I mean Kai.” I responded noticing the dissatisfaction in his eyes at me calling him Alpha.

“Fallon, I don't want to see you get hurt, it may be best if you stay away from Kassius.” I could see a flash of concern in his eyes.

“Is that an order from my Alpha?” I asked harshly. He may be my Alpha and my boss but he could not tell me how to run my love life. That was one area that was off limits for him.

“Of course not,” he answered. “That is a fair warning from a friend.”

“Well Kai, I think we both know we have not been friends for a long time now. You may not realize but I have learned to handle myself in the years since we last spoke. Not that it’s any of your business but Kassius is a great guy, I couldn’t have asked for a better date tonight.” I told him as I stormed out of the Kitchen. 

As I turned the corner from the kitchen I ran into Xander and Santana. Xander seemed to only be there to watch out for his sister as he didn't look to be enjoying the party at all. Santana on the other hand seemed to be having a great time.

“Look here it's the belle of the ball.” Santana teased. “I didn't expect to see you here, but boy do you know how to make an entrance. You are all anyone is talking about tonight. So how are things going with Kassius? Is he the charming prince you had dreamed of?”

“He has been great, so caring and attentive.” I gushed. “I really like him so much and I think the feeling is mutual.” 

“That is great, I am so happy for you.” Santana yelled as she was ushered back to the dance floor by about three different guys all waiting for their chance to get a dance with her.

“Hey fallon, I overheard your conversation with Kai earlier. I think it might be best if  you listen to him. He knows Kassius better than anyone. Maybe you should be careful.” Xander told me.

“You too Xander? What is it with everyone thinking they know what is best for my love life? How about everyone stop trying to control me and let me make my own choices. Who knows, maybe Kassius is my mate?” I snapped

All of a sudden there were large hands pulling Xander up by his collar. “Who the hell do you think you are?” Kassius was furious he must have heard what Xander and I were talking about. “Keep your hands and ideas to yourself pretty boy. Fallon belongs to me.” Kassius pushed Xander against the wall and turned to face the rest of the party. Clearing his throat and speaking loudly as if to make an announcement. “Everyone listen up. This girl right here, this is Fallon. From this point on out she belongs to me. If I catch another man even so much as looking at her I will rip you to shreds do you understand?” Everyone in the party nodded afraid to speak.

“I think it is time you leave, Kassius.” Kai spoke up from behind us. There was a definite look of disgust between the two of them and I wondered where that had come from.

Kassius grabbed my hand and pulled me through the crowd back out to his car. “I am sorry I ruined our night Kitten. I just lost it when I saw that guy with you and heard him trying to tell you to stay away from me. Your mine Kitten and I won't let you go without a fight.” The sincerity in his eyes made my heart melt. I knew I should be shocked or angry at his behavior but something about that possessive attitude turned me on and made me feel like he really did care. He may have had a different way of showing his emotions but they were there. I cupped his face with my hand and looked deep into his eyes.

“You didn't ruin our night. In fact you made me see that this was more than just some date to you. I was afraid I would be just another conquest for you. But what you did back there letting everyone know I belong to you showed me that you are serious about wanting us to be together. It made me feel appreciated and cared for.” I told him and he was on me in an instant.His lips crashed on mine, his tongue moving with mine. His hands all over my body like he was frantically trying to show me how he felt. I was beginning to see that this man was like a drug and I was quickly becoming an addict.
