Amy’s POV

The important visitor hadn’t been Gamma Harriet – why would it be? These Lycans had no regard for females. I even overheard the Alpha King mocking her in the house beside the sea. He said he couldn’t understand why wolfpacks promoted she-wolves.

I began to think their arrangement, whatever it was, wouldn’t last very long.

This Alpha was a blood brother and he took a keen interest in everything Michael did to me down in that dungeon.

I don’t want to go into details. Suffice to say there was pain, a great deal of it.

Ariadne hadn’t come back to me about my wanting out. That hurt in a different way. I supposed she was only the messenger.

The impression we were being groomed for something was hard to shake off. I didn’t believe it was breeding, not for all of us.

That was when ‘Diana’ came into her own, coaching us on how to star in various different scenarios, when to cry out, at what point to beg.

I didn’t miss the decisions I had to make, the daily squabbles which had to be sorted between maids and Omegas. They were trivial in the scheme of things. It made me smile to think of the Alpha dealing with petty rows about dirty looks and the more serious allegations of slacking, which tended to be unfounded for the most part.
