~Kiki~
It was as if Kade left and Alpha Kayden came back. The handsome naked man standing in front of me threw accusatory looks at me as if it was all my fault; as if I plotted some kind of conspiracy to lead him to my bed.
It was all apparent in his eyes. The guilt, the regret, and the blame.
"Alpha..."
I covered my nakedness with the creased sheets and looked up at him with questioning eyes. What was he thinking? He quietly put his black shirt on and went back to looking expressionless, as usual, until he realized most of his shirt buttons were gone.
He looked up at me as if I pulled those buttons out. He probably forgot how he yanked at his shirt and tossed it on the floor last night. All that felt like it happened a year ago. At least that's how distant this man seemed right now.
"Are you---"
"Hush, Kiki. How the fuck did I end up here? And why?"
"Why?"
"Why the hell am I in your bed?" I was taken aback by his harsh
~Kiki~"Dear Kendall White,This is Connor Meyer, the Alpha King's loyal beta. Thank you for reaching out to Storm Moon Pack. If it was really your birthday yesterday, my belated birthday wishes to you. You are one of the thirty four people claiming to be Ariyana to who I am responding today. You all got the date of birth correctly, which is not a surprise, considering the common knowledge that Ariyana was born on the day her dad died and the current Alpha King took over the Golden Dells. What you forgot to mention was your true identity. We have kept the Luna Queen's paranormal side a secret for a reason. If you are just another human or a she wolf and not a hybrid as you should be, please do not bother replying to this email. If you are indeed a hybrid, please let me know, and I will send an official invite to meet your potential parents. You will have to prove both your wolf and the hidden paranormal side to me before we even consider running the DNA test.It
"Crap!"I jumped the signal and froze in the middle of the intersection, hitting on the brakes a little too hard and way too late. Inching my way back, I stalled the truck in an awkward position in front of the other waiting cars.Meeting Sibyl was a mistake! I was feeling much worse as I drove home. I went to her confused about the changes happening to my body, and as if those weren't bad enough, she talks about ominous things like death and blah blah, which made no sense at all.Out of nowhere, a police car moved forward with blaring sirens, asking me to pull over to the side. Wonderful!Zeta Archer's younger brother stepped out of the vehicle with a deep frown etched on his face. He was a stickler for rules, even when playing something as silly as Yardzee."Having a bad day, Kiki?" His frown changed to a smirk as I rolled my window down."Uncle Jon, hi." I smiled nervously at him, hoping he wouldn't write me a hefty ticket. He had already
"Kiki, why does my cast iron pan look like THAT?My mom was in a terrible mood. She was like this on most days after a hard day at work. Pushing the pan on the dining table towards me, she got up from her chair."And that bland pasta you made, there was no salt in it at all. Can't you do anything right?"I heard her mumble the rest in a lower voice as she disappeared into her room."I can't wait for you to be kicked out of the pack soon."It didn't make any difference what she said. I had put up with her foul moods almost every day now. I was in a bad mood myself today, but unfortunately, not everyone could afford a punching bag.I changed quickly and went to the kitchen to get dinner started. There were more important things to do after this. Packing bags and leaving the pack before the Luna Ceremony for one. The images of Alpha Kayden and Sienna kept flashing as I went through cooking and cleaning.Luna Sienna. Alpha Kayden's
"Take these flowers as well. And the tablecloth. Move it, move it!"Ivory ran around in a frenzy, and so did the other omegas, trying to decorate the stage for the ceremony. I couldn't care less."Ugh, not this blue, Kiki. The Luna is going to be wearing a Tiffany blue dress. The streamers have to be the same color."What the hell was a Tiffany blue? And why was that my problem? My luggage was in the pickup truck that's sitting in some auto shop. I didn't dare open the trunk to take the suitcase out when Uncle Jon was watching me. This town was small, and the cops were jobless. He showed up on the site instead of just having the tow truck sent to me, making my running away plan a big flop."Kiki! Chop chop."I grabbed the long coils of string lights and went around the dais to start hanging them from a nearby stake. Going around a tree and then coming back to the front of the dais, I tried to reach as high as I could.'Someone is watc
I woke up with my nose buried in the wet forest floor, with dead leaves sticking out of my hair. My brain was all fuzzy until I realized I was stark naked.Shit!Pushing my palms into the ground, I bounced up on my feet and crossed my arms to rest my hands on the shoulders before looking around. It was cold and dark. I was typically terrified of such thick woods at the dead of the night. Not today. With my enhanced night vision and the full moon's beams filtering through the tree canopies, the dark didn't bother me.'Hi, Kiki.'A loud, high-pitched cry left my lips when I heard someone's voice calling my name. Must be a female ghost. There was no one around me, and it completely spooked me out. I moved away from the giant oak tree and looked up in fear. Benji and I loved watching horror movies, and every scary scene was playing out in my mind right now.'Don't panic. We finally meet.'"W-who?"
A strange kind of fear had gripped my throat; it was as if my wolf could sense some dark magic.Skinwalkers! The feeling of dread doubled in my stomach. This could be my last day on earth. Skinwalkers had the power to kill the wolf, and I wouldn't survive much longer after that. But what did I have to lose anymore? I already felt quite dead without my mate. Cel agreed, but a part of my mind refused to believe there was nothing left for us without our mate.It was the same part of me that was still telling me to go to the ocean. I think I heard this voice before. It was there in all my haunting dreams about the dreadful storm. This voice had told me to quit fighting against the water currents and to go deeper into the calmer waters underneath.I had refused to listen to it back then, and I did the same even now. The voice sounded quite mad at Alpha Kayden right now. And it wanted me to forget him. It was devoid of any humanity and didn't care if Alp
~Alpha Kayden~Gusts of cool wind blew through my bedroom window as I pushed the curtains aside and stared at the moonlit sky. It was past midnight, but I couldn't catch a wink.Tonight was supposed to be a special night for me and Sienna. We had waited for this day for years so I could show her off to my pack as their Luna, mark her in front of everybody, and then carry her into my room to finish the mating ceremony. My dad and the pack had finally accepted an outsider with an open heart. It didn't come as a surprise to me. Sienna was undoubtedly lovable, and everyone knew she would make an excellent Luna. This was how it was supposed to be, and I had actually achieved my happily ever after with her. Not everyone was lucky enough like me to be with the love of their life. What was this gaping hole inside my heart then? It was as if my other half was missing. I constantly felt like there was nothing much to live for anymore.Axel was unusual
~Kiki~Every bit of my body was spasming under my skin. There was a lot of commotion happening around me, but I was feeling too weak to open my eyes. Just lifting those eyelids was taking a lot of effort.I had no idea how long I had been lying on the ground like this, smelling blood and death all around. Hot pain shot up through my arms as I tried to move. I think one of my shoulder blades was broken, if that was even possible. Maybe a few broken ribs too. I was about to fall back into the deep abyss of sleep, but then I heard his voice.Alpha Kayden's voice.'Mate!' Cel purred softly. My eyes flew open, and a sharp pain ran across my body when I barely moved to see if he was really here. A thick fog began to cloud my senses as I tried to balance myself on my palms before standing up. I closed my eyes again for an instant, battling to keep my consciousness.Someone reached for my arm to help me get up while a deep growl resonated from behin
