Gusts of cool wind blew through my bedroom window as I pushed the curtains aside and stared at the moonlit sky. It was past midnight, but I couldn't catch a wink.
Tonight was supposed to be a special night for me and Sienna. We had waited for this day for years so I could show her off to my pack as their Luna, mark her in front of everybody, and then carry her into my room to finish the mating ceremony.
My dad and the pack had finally accepted an outsider with an open heart. It didn't come as a surprise to me. Sienna was undoubtedly lovable, and everyone knew she would make an excellent Luna.
This was how it was supposed to be, and I had actually achieved my happily ever after with her. Not everyone was lucky enough like me to be with the love of their life.
What was this gaping hole inside my heart then? It was as if my other half was missing. I constantly felt like there was nothing much to live for anymore.
