Richard placed his hands on Serenity’s shoulders. “There is no changing his decision, Serenity. The Alpha already has enough on his plate. Don’t anger him. You barely managed to come out of the prison alive. Do you want to be sent back to that place?”
The idea of spending a week more locked up in that suffocating room made her shudder and brought her mental trauma back. But Serenity was desperate. Just as she was starting to get acquainted with the pack members after being alienated by them, she could not be sent back.
Serenity smiled at him. “Thank you. I know you are worried about me, but I will handle it. I might seem reckless, but I know what I am doing.”
