~Alpha Kilhan~
I moved my hand to the other side of the bed, hoping to feel her still laying next to me, but I was wrong. I opened my eyes and found out she was gone, alongside the bag of money that was placed on the couch.A smile slowly curled up my lips as I thought about her again.‘I bet she’d be so shocked to find out I doubled the price.’The previous night, after talking to one of my workers over the phone, I went ahead and texted him, telling him to add one million dollars to the initial price. That was how much she drove me crazy.I was disappointed I couldn’t even get her name before she disappeared. I wanted to know more about her, but she didn’t let me. She solely believed I just wanted to have sex. I did want that, but I wanted more too.She was so different and she made me feel something. She made my heart race. She made me remember that I still had a heart for the first time in a long time.“I’m going to find her. I have to find her.” I muttered as I reached for my phone. I put a call across to my driver and bodyguards, telling them to come pick me up. I needed them to take me back to K-clubhouse.‘I need to make a few more inquiries about her before heading home.’Leaving the hotel, I got a call from my Mom. I almost forgot she was coming back to town very early this morning.“Hi, mother! Are you home now?” I asked, smiling widely.“Yes. How are you?” She asked, and I responded, full of enthusiasm.“I’m great.”“Hmm… you sound pretty excited. I bet last night went well.”“It was the best night ever, Mom. I promise to tell you everything as soon as I get back.”“Are you not on your way back now?”“Not yet. I need to get somewhere first. I’ll be home in an hour or two.”“Fine. Just don’t stay too long. I can’t wait to hear how your birthday went.”“Of course. See you soon.” I hung up, still smiling widely. My mother had always been my best friend, even before the great calamity befell our family. We were the perfect family of three, until something happened… My father was killed.Though, according to the police and investigators, he committed suicide in his office, I never believed that. Not for once. My father was rich, loving, powerful, straightforward and a man full of Justice and honesty. Of course he had lots of enemies. He was a rare Alpha, a good one. He must have done something right that pissed the bad guys off. He always had us his family, there was no way he could have committed suicide. He had zero reasons to do that.My mother and I strongly believe his death was staged to look like a suicide. I promised myself and her that I would get this enemy at all cost. Even if it had to cost my life.We got to the K-clubhouse and I walked in to meet the manager I put in charge.“Alpha Kilhan. What a pleasant surprise.” She uttered with a grin. She wasn’t expecting to see me since I had just been there the previous night.“That lady from last night. Do you know who she is?” I asked, and she shook her head.“I didn’t even know she was in the clubhouse until you approached her. It was my first time seeing her around.” She answered, and I sighed deeply.“Where do I start looking for you?” I mumbled.“However, my bartender had a chat with her last night before your arrival. Maybe he would have some useful information about her.” She added, signaling one of her workers to fetch the bartender.I nodded and waited patiently for this bartender to show up.“But why are you looking for her? You went away with her last night,” she uttered, and I nodded again.“True, and we had the perfect night together but she disappeared before I woke up. I slept so soundly, I didn’t even realize when she left.” I answered with a smile.“This is all so strange. you know? You’ve never come back to ask for more information about our girls before.”“Well, she isn’t one of your girls, is she?” I retorted, and she shook her head.“What’s so different about this one?”“I don’t know too, manager, but I’m going to find out.”The worker finally returned with the so-called bartender.“Damian, please tell Alpha Kilhan about the conversation you had with the lady in yellow last night.” The manager uttered, and Damian nodded.“Last night, she approached me and asked for my help. She said she needed a job and she wouldn’t mind being my assistant for the night because she was in urgent need of some cash and a place to sleep. She happened to be new in New York City so she had no idea it was your birthday.“I told her I would have loved to help but last night was special and we were busy expecting you. I advised her to come back today to speak to the manager. She left my presence disappointed and I thought she was gone until I saw her with you again, sir.” He narrated with his head bowed.“Did she tell you her name? Where she was coming from? Where she might be heading to?” I asked, and he shook his head.“And she didn’t talk to anyone else?” I further inquired, and he shook his head.“Not that I recall, Alpha Kilhan.”I breathed out with my mouth and stood up.“His information isn’t completely useless, manager.” I muttered, heading out of her office. “Don’t hesitate to call me if she shows up again.” I added, before finally stepping out.I pulled out my phone from my pocket and placed a call to my Beta.“Drex, get information on all houses for rent and sale. Get to know their agents, landlords and even tenants. I need to know when she approaches one of them to secure a place to live. Start working on it immediately.” I uttered.“And who is she?” He asked.“I’ll fill you in later.” I responded as I hung up.“You too. Keep an eye out for her. You know what she looks like, don’t you?” I asked my bodyguards and they nodded.“Great. Let the search begin.”*Getting home, I found my mother sitting in the living room with a glass of juice in her hand.“Alpha Kilhan.” She praised teasingly, and I chuckled, walking up to her.“I’m sorry I kept you waiting, Mom.” I answered, planting a kiss on her forehead.“C’mon, it’s fine. I was enjoying myself.” She replied with a chuckle.I slammed into the couch next to her and sighed loudly.“How was your flight?” I asked.“It was normal, thank you.” She answered, and I nodded, shutting my eyes.“So… should I ask or you’re going to start spilling it out?” She asked, causing me to laugh. I opened my eyes and sat up, looking at her.“Last night, I visited the K-clubhouse to spend the remaining hours of my birthday doing something nasty, you know?…”“Of course, I know! When are you going to stop sleeping with different women and finally find your mate so you can settle down? You’re twenty-eight now!”“I know, Mom! Can you at least let me finish? I think I found her.”“What??! Tell me more!”“When I set my eyes on her, I couldn’t take it off. Her eyes kept drawing me closer and closer to her. I felt so comfortable and happy just staring at her. The connection was there. It felt so emotional and physical at the same time.”My eyes dilated as I spoke of her, recalling every moment we spent together. Remembering how tenderly she moaned my name while I was inside her.“Then where is she? Why didn’t you bring her home?!” She asked eagerly and excitedly.“She ran away.” I mumbled, lowering my head sadly.“What?! Why?”“She believed I just wanted sex.”“Then we must find her. She is your mate, Kilhan. I can’t believe you finally found her!” She answered, holding onto my hand.“She’s so pretty, Mom.” I added, chuckling happily. While we both giggled, I saw her countenance change gradually. She sighed deeply and looked away, covering her eyes with her hand.“Hey… what’s wrong?” I asked, as she began to sob.“If only your father was here.” She mumbled, shaking her head in tears.I clenched my jaws and knelt in front of her. “I promise you, Mom. We will find who did this and justice will be served for my father. I swear on my life. His killer wouldn’t go unpunished.” I muttered, embracing my mother and staring into space with a burning desire for revenge.~Celine~ After Two Years “Kendrick!” I called out as he ran out of the room. I sprang to my feet and ran out of the room to grab him, only for me to see that Kilhan had grabbed him already. “Haa.” I sighed. “He’s so fast for a two-year-old,” I muttered, shaking my head tiredly. “Well, he is my son, of course, he’s going to be faster and stronger than any other child. I can’t wait for him to start running faster than this.” Kilhan responded while Kendrick chuckled in his arms. “Time is all you need. Now, can you please get him away from me so I can rest?” I asked with a smile, planting a kiss on Kilhan and Kendrick’s cheeks. “Right,” Kilhan answered and turned to leave. “Mama,” Kendrick called, waving at me as Kilhan started to walk away. “I love you, baby,” I responded, blowing him a kiss before heading back into the room. I got into the room and slammed into the bed. I lay flat on my back as I stared at the ceiling. About a year ago, before Kendrick turned one, Kilhan and
~Charles~ The Next DayWe all stood under black umbrellas as the rain drizzled. In front of us was a priest conducting Mrs Anna’s funeral. Kilhan ordered that his late mother be buried in the compound so she’s always close to home. He needed that warmth. At my right stood Celine, holding onto Kilhan tightly. Sadness was evident on their faces. One of his men held up an umbrella for them. I kept a straight face, adjusting my black shirt and tie as I watched them put her casket into the ground. “Are you okay?” Caesar asked softly, and I nodded, keeping my eyes on the casket. “Yes, I am. Thank you.” I answered. He was the one holding up the umbrella for both of us. I wanted him to stay back at the house, but he insisted that he come with me. His exact words were “I am coming with you, Alpha Charles. I’ll be ready to protect you if anything happens.” Soon, Kilhan, Celine, and his pack members moved forward to pour sand on her casket before it was covered. All this while, I took g
~Alpha Kilhan~ Panting hard, I began to break into the rooms one after the other, leaving Charles and Drex to deal with the men who were watching and guarding the place. I stormed into the fifth room, and what I saw made my eyes widen in terror. Celine sat on a chair and behind her was a man, who had a knife placed against her ear. There was blood slowly flowing from her ear, letting me know he was starting to hurt her. Immediately he saw I was in the room, he moved the knife to her neck. “Take one more step and that is the end. Even though you kill me, I have nothing to lose.” He uttered, pressing the sharp part of the knife against her skin. He pressed it so hard that she winced in pain while she stared at me with her teary eyes. “Kilhan.” She called softly. “Don’t you dare speak, woman!” He yelled, pressing the knife against her skin ever harder. “Hey!” I put my hands forward, hoping he would stop. “Tell me what you want. I’ll give you anything. Just let them go.” I uttere
~Celine~ “Hmmm!” I groaned as my head felt too heavy for my neck to carry. “Hmm.” Though I opened my eyes, I saw total darkness. I tried to move, but I realized that I couldn’t move. I couldn’t move my hands and legs. I tried to open my mouth to speak, but there was a barrier in my mouth too. “Hmmmm!” I moaned loudly again as I remembered what happened before I blacked out. ‘Kendrick!’ I yelled in my head as I began to struggle with my restraints. “Struggling isn’t going to help you.” I heard a distant voice, and before I knew it, I felt someone pull the blindfold bag off my head. The barrier in my mouth was also loosened The bright light in the room stung my eyes, causing me to squint painfully. “Who the hell are you?! Where is my son??!” I yelled with my eyes still closed. The bright white light was directly set in front of me, so when I tried to open my eyes, I saw nothing behind the lights. “It’s so nice to see you again, Jessica.” The voice drew closer, and when then, a
~Alpha Kilhan~ “Thank you so much for coming,” I uttered with a wide smile, slightly bowing to my mother’s friends. “Please enjoy the party,” I added, before walking away. I raised my head and looked around, scanning the living room for Celine but she was nowhere to be found. While I moved further away from the guests, about to start a thorough search for Celine, I saw Charles running down the stairs, panting heavily. I creased my brows and took long strides toward the stairs. As soon as our eyes met, I watched him struggle with trying to keep his composure. “Come with me.” He whispered as soon as he got down the stairs. He turned a turn to the right and I followed after him, with the guards following closely. “What’s going on? Where is Celine and Kendrick?” I asked, taking a glance around to make sure people weren’t watching. “They are nowhere to be found.” He responded with gritted teeth. “What are you talking about?? She was here with you minutes ago!” “Lower your voice!
~Celine~ ~After Three Months~ “Oh no! Kendrick!” I yelled in frustration, staring at him in disbelief. “What? Why are you yelling at him like that?” Betty answered with a frown on her face, moving closer to me and taking him from me. “I just finished bathing and cleaning him up, only for him to poop and mess up his diapers again! The party had long started and I haven’t even shown my face because of him.” I muttered. “Hey, you can’t tell him not to poop when he wants, okay? If it’s about you showing your face to the party, then go. I’ll clean him up and bring him down.” Betty responded, smiling widely at Kendrick. She raised him in the air, still smiling widely at him, and he smiled back at her. I heaved a sigh and nodded. “Are you sure? You shouldn’t miss the fun too. I can quickly clean him up.” “Celine, I’m fine. I can take care of him. You should greet the guests. You're Luna, remember? Plus, I think Kendrick likes me more today.” She uttered, and Kendrick let out another
