Chapter 1

Yifa's POV

Under the cover of night, a treacherous assault befell our pack, catching us unaware in the depths of slumber. The killers cunningly exploited our vulnerability during sleep, perceiving it as the best moment to strike.

It was evident to me that The Water Moon Pack orchestrated this attack, driven by their deep-seated hatred towards us. Our reputation as possessors of the mightiest and most formidable wolves had long stoked their enmity.

Moreover, fortune had smiled upon us, as the lycan King had once stood among our staunch allies.

Tragedy befell us as the attack unfolded, mercilessly claiming the lives of every member of my pack, including my beloved parents.

Amidst the chaos, my survival was owed to the selfless sacrifice of my parents, who hid me in the protective confines of our basement on that fateful day.

After the night of the devastating attack, a scene of unimaginable horror greeted me as I went outside. There, amidst a chilling pool of their own blood, lay my parents, their lives tragically cut short. The rest of our pack had suffered a similar fate, ruthlessly slain, while a handful of our youngest members were taken away, to become their Omegas. In that moment, I was left utterly alone, in a vast and unforgiving world.

However, fate intervened and brought Elena and Anita into my life, two extraordinary souls who became my best friends. With their presence, even the darkest shadows began to disappear, and a glimmer of solace permeated my existence, reminding me that I no longer had to face the hardships alone.

In my quest for a brighter future, finding my fated mate became my last glimmer of hope.

After the devastating fate that befell my pack, I found myself transformed into a Rogue, wondering the forest, and travelling different Packs. Enduring countless hardships along the way.

There were moments when I contemplated ending my life, yet I clung to a steadfast belief that my fated mate awaited me—a soul who would love me unconditionally.

Now, two decades have passed, and I have evolved into a mature omega, an independent rogue fervently pursuing the connection that fate has in store for me.

"Yifa! Let's get moving!" A familiar voice resounded, prompting me to turn towards its source. It was Elena Talbot, one of my friends. we shared the same age, forging a bond that compelled us to stick together.

Accompanied by our childhood friend, Anita Sam, we embarked on a mission to unveil the mysteries surrounding our fated mates.

I rushed towards my friends, their frantic waves urging me to follow. Our plan was to bathe in the river before crossing the border into the Western Kingdom. Despite our rogue status, we wanted to appear presentable in case we unexpectedly encountered our potential mate. As we dipped into the water, we chatted and giggled about trivial matters. Our long-standing friendship had made us accustomed to seeing each other naked.

"You little flirt! You were definitely eyeing that rogue we met earlier!" I playfully accused Anita, prompting a shy blush and smile from her.

Elena burst into laughter and chimed in, "Well, we can certainly appreciate an attractive man when we come across one."

I couldn't help but agree and join in the laughter, nodding along. "Indeed. The rogue seemed equally captivated by Anita."

Anita responded sarcastically, splashing water at me, "Oh, please! I would never dare betray my mate. He would be soooo devastated," she exaggerated dramatically.

Elena and I couldn't help but stifle our laughter as our friend attempted some amateur acting. We were accustomed to her playful and childish behavior, considering she was the youngest member of our group.

"Come on, we need to start our journey soon if we want to reach our destination before sunset," I informed the others, emerging from the water. Both of them followed suit, joining me on the shore.

We began to change into the clothes we had taken from a shop in the city, though guilt gnawed at our consciences. Unfortunately, circumstances had left us with no alternative. Being rogues, society often labeled us as wicked or unhinged individuals.

As we dried our hair, the sound of footsteps grew nearer, prompting us to adopt a defensive stance and huddle together, casting our eyes in the direction of the noise.

Emerging from behind the trees were three intimidating rogues. Judging by their odor and imposing physiques, it was evident that they were alphas, a fact that instantly placed us at a disadvantage as we were all omegas.

"Well, well, well, what do we have here? A trio of omegas, and such pretty ones at that," commented the blonde man, his breath reeking with a foul stench, as he scrutinized us from head to toe.

"Huh, they look just like any other omegas," responded the other individual impassively. However, when he noticed my disdainful glare, a smirk crept across his face.

What an obnoxious jerk.

The smugness emanating from the other individual was unmistakable. It was evident that he regarded us with a condescending air, firmly believing that our capture was inevitable, and escape was beyond our grasp. However, we were determined to shatter their misguided perceptions.

Engaging in a wordless exchange with my friends, I sought their approval. As both of them silently agreed, we transformed  into formidable wolves, catching our attackers completely off guard. Seizing this opportune moment, we swiftly made our escape.

Outraged by our audacity, the blond man bellowed in disbelief, just as we discerned the sound of their own wolfish metamorphosis. Now, three alpha wolves were relentlessly pursuing us. Fortunately, our intimate knowledge of every nook and cranny in this forest granted us the advantage of precise turns, enabling us to elude our pursuers, quite literally leaving them behind.

Yet, it became increasingly apparent that these alpha wolves possessed an intimate familiarity with the forest as well, for they closed the distance with alarming speed. Their growls reverberated through the air, and the searing warmth of their breath pressed against my back. Urging Anita forward, I gently nudged her, imploring her to push her limits and increase our pace.

As I glanced at Elena, I noticed her exhaustion becoming more evident. It was clear that we couldn't continue running; we had to confront our pursuers head-on. Although they had encountered adversaries before, this was the first time they had to face three formidable alphas simultaneously.

I abruptly halted in my tracks and turned around, signaling Elena and Anita to do the same. They stared at me with a mixture of surprise and bewilderment, perhaps questioning my sanity. Yet, deep down, we all knew that decisive action was necessary.

Just as the three menacing wolves were about to pounce on us, an extraordinary event unfolded. All three of them collapsed onto the ground simultaneously, unconscious with a resounding thud. Surprised, we exchanged confusing glances. What in the world had just happened?
