Chapter 10: His Savior

Amarantha's POV

The expedition started. I was asked to ride a horse on my own but I quickly said no. I've never ridden a horse before. It was something that I was supposed to learn before the war began but that was quickly taken away from me.

Now that they're asking me this, all of their faces grimaced. Some of them started to ride away their horses after rolling their eyes at me.

I shrugged. "Sorry, I just don't know how to..." I sincerely told Iram.

He sighed exasperatedly and thought for a second. After that, I saw him nod at me and offered his arm outstretched to me. "Here. I'll lift you..."

I accepted his hand and he pulled me up until I was seated before him. I gasped loudly; my eyes felt like they were about to bail out of my skull. The moment I was sitting there next to him felt like I was energized. His scent drove me again into a frenzy.

"Hold still. I won't pick you up if you fall..." he whispered to my ear.
