CHAPTER - 4

Alex P. O. V

"When are you going to shift again?" that brought me out of my thoughts. Alpha James walked around the desk and leaned against it with his legs crossed . He was rubbing his fingers on his chin still thinking about something.

My attention went back to alpha James.

"On full moon night. It is on the day of the ball" . Only my brother, Noah and Alpha James knew I could shift.

"While you will be shifting make sure no one sees you and do not go deep in the woods. The rogues have been attacking more recently. We do not want to take any risks" .

I had heard from the pack warriors about the frequent attack of the rogues. They had recently attacked our neighboring pack . Our last rogue attack happened two years ago. Words were around that the wolf council was looking for the rogue king. Nobody knows what he looks like or where he was.

"I do not want any pranks and I do not want you anywhere near the pack house" He said to me while pointing his index finger at me.

I was not always like this, playing pranks and never caring what others thought of me. I used to be a shy and reserved kid hiding under her hoodie but everything changed three years ago . I got to see my life with a new light. It made me felt I was worth something.

It was my sixteenth birthday when I first shifted.I was in my bed when I felt sharp pain pass through my body. Then more shocks passed through my body. It felt as if my body was breaking. I groaned and cried in pain.

Hearing my screams Noah came rushing in my room . He was dumbstruck when he saw my body twisting in pain. He quickly took me to the forest. My first shift was extremely painful.

Noah always told me that he would always remember my first shift. He was awed when he first saw my white wolf. The power, the energy it was emitting he never felt anything like that before not even any Alpha's aura could match my aura.

Alpha James was on the run that day. He followed my howls and barks and saw me shifting. He could feel the shift of energy in the air.Wolves were always capable of feeling the presence of their superiors. That was how he got to know that I could shift and that I was a white wolf. We took a blood oath that we would never tell anyone about this who did not need to know about this. From then on none of us talked about it.It was for safety.

None of the pack members knew I could shift. I never shifted in front of them. So they assumed that I could not shift and I just let them. It worked in my favor though another thing added in their list to hate me more than they already did. I could hide my wolf presence and its smell. So they never find out I had a wolf. One thing I learned while pretending that werewolves hate humans and my pack members hate me more. The way Alpha James was talking to me was because he knew what I was.

He had seen how his pack had treated me as if I was an outsider and never once did he try to stop them from treating me badly. This hypocrite bustard only changed his way of treating me after that night, otherwise he was no better than his pack members.

"Yes alpha".

" You may leave ". He moved his hand in a dismissive manner.

I left the room and signed heavily when I heard a high pitched sound from behind me. I already knew whose disgusting voice it was. It was Caroline. Alway picture perfect just like her mother. This blonde bimbo was

just like her brother , arrogant stubborn whining asshole and pain in my ass. Caroline was a beautiful girl but was a complete bitch. Just the person I needed to make this day worse.

"What do we have here, the pack's charity case? I heard you are cleaning the pack house today. Perfect job for you after all a broom fits in a maid's hand. After you are done come to my room and clean it. I do not want a single dust there"said in an arrogant tone. She was taunting me. She wanted to rile me up but I never gave her what she wanted.

I gave her a sarcastic smile back and said"And you look good choking on my shoe when I shove it in your mouth".Still keeping a calm face. Her face was turning red in range. One thing Caroline hated the most , she did not like people talking back to her .Oh my bad. I just did.

"It seems like these punishments are not enough. Ryden should have done something worse than this. My poor brother . For what you did to him , he is still paying for it. I do not know what spell you did on my brother , you witch but it seems he can not get over you".Melodramatic much.

My poor brother!! Was not she the one who was laughing like a hyena with her minions after I pranked her brother.

"Now bring me a coffee in my room".I was about tell her fuck off but then I remembered something. I had a perfect present for her.

" Why are you still standing here? Go and only one spoon of sugar".

"Of course".She did not see the evil glint in my eyes.

I left her there and went to the kitchen. A few maids were working. No one asked what I was doing there. After I was done making Caroline's coffee I looked around to make sure no one was looking at me. Everyone was engaged in what they were doing.

I slowly pulled out the folded piece of paper and opened it. I poured the Croton powder in it and put the paper back in my pocket. I stirred the mixture slowly.

"Let's see how many marathons you are going to run to your washroom".

I placed the coffee mug on a tray and looked around again to make sure no one saw me.

I went to Caroline's room and knocked on her door.

The bitch did not know what was going to hit her.

She told me to come in. I opened the door and walked inside. I served her her coffee. She dismissed me after telling me how worthless I was and that I was late. After another series of ray of curses from her I left her room.

As I took the last step of the stairs I heard Caroline screaming on top of her voice.

"Ahhhhhhhhh fuck my stomach. Alex, you bi-tch wh-at the hell did you mix in that coff-ee? ".

It was music to my ears though it seemed like a dying gorilla was screaming.

" You will p-ay for t-his. Ouch ahh".

This day was getting already better .
