Sebastian was trembling violently as he held Hannah’s unconscious body. She was still not breathing but she had a faint pulse, so he knew she was still alive. But he wasn’t sure how much longer she could stay alive.Thankfully, the EMTs arrived quickly. Arnold had come downstairs shortly after Sebastian and saw that Hannah wasn’t well. He called 911 immediately to get an ambulance. Sebastian was trying to remain strong for Hannah; he knew if he fell apart no good would come from that.He was the king and he needed to be strong for not only himself and Hannah, but his kingdom as well. He couldn’t let them see him break.But he didn’t want to let Hannah go. He held her close to him and he could smell her sent through her blood. Her body was still so warm, and it provided his wolf such tranquility. Her mouth was hanging open slightly with no air escaping her lips. But staring at her full and beautiful lips, he just wanted to kiss them. He worried he would never be able to kiss them again
Sebastian’s POVStill, with the power of the moonstone surging through him, Sebastian found it difficult to break his eye contact with Magnolia. His wolf was trying hard to detach the energy, but he found himself not strong enough.“Lock yourself away in the dungeon,” Sebastian found himself ordering her; she seemed to be compliant with his orders.“Yes, your majesty,” she said.She finally broke her gaze from him and walked toward the basement door that led into the dungeon. At that point, the moonstone wasn’t as strong and Eric was able to break through the barriers, bringing Sebastian back to his normal state of mind.He finally felt the moonstone weakening and the surging went down.Sebastian blinked a few times, looking around the foyer confused as to what happened. His memory was wavering a little bit, but he remembered that Magnolia told him that Jack was in the woodland forest. He was going to gather rogues to fight.That wasn’t going to happen while Sebastian was still alive.
Hannah’s POV“Liam’s alive?” I asked, my breath got caught in my throat as I stared up at Sebastian, shocked.Did Jack lie to me?Of course, he lied to me. Why was I surprised by that? He tried to kill me.“Yes,” Sebastian said, still eyeing me carefully. From the way he was looking at me, I could tell he was confused. “We found him in the riverbed bordering the rogued town. You used to call it your little paradise…”The riverbed. Of course, he was at the riverbed. That was my mother’s favorite spot. It was the only place the other rogues didn’t go because it was too close to the kingdom. But my mother never feared being in or near the kingdom; she didn’t have anything against the packs or the royal family. Even after my father rejected her and us, she still for some reason loved him. He was her chosen mate from the beginning and her wolf couldn’t let him go, regardless of how hard she tried.She loved him until her last breath.That riverbed was the only place we could go that was so
Sebastian’s POV“But your majesty…” Arnold tried to protest, but Sebastian shot his hand up to silence him.“I mean it, Arnold,” Sebastian said with finality in his tone. “You cannot kill him. You are to bring him to the king’s jail, and we will figure out what to do from there. That’s the proper way.”“No offense but screw the proper way. He hurt my mate and…”“He hurt a lot more than just your mate,” Sebastian told him, both his tone and eyes darkening.He knew that the scarred man was involved in that brutal attack at the frat party as well. He didn’t just hurt Raya, but he killed a lot of those students. A lot of innocent students; not to mention put Hannah in harm’s way.“He deserves the worst fate…” Arnold said under his breath; he knew better than to argue with Sebastian, but he also felt strongly about this matter.“And he will get what he deserves. But you aren’t a murderer, Arnold. I won’t allow my Beta to become a murderer. Bring him to the king’s jail and we will deal with
Hannah’s POVHe loves meDid he just say that he loves me?I stared at him with my mouth hanging open, silently. I wasn’t sure what to say in return. Nora was still too weak that I couldn’t fully feel her emotions from within me. He didn’t request for me to say it back to him; he allowed me the time I needed to process what he had just said.My body trembled uncontrollably, and I could feel my heart beating rapidly in my chest. I could almost hear his heart beating, mimicking my speed.I was thankful when Dr. Davis came into the room, interrupting us.“How are you feeling?” He asked as he made his way over to me.“Like I almost died,” I tried to make light of the situation.Neither of them found it very funny though.“You’re lucky to be alive,” Dr. Davis said, his tone hardening as he checked my heartbeat. “I’m going to run some more tests before I discharge you.”“Discharge?” I asked, my eyes wide. “You mean I’ll be able to go home?”Dr. Davis nodded.“Hopefully by the end of today;
Hannah’s POVIt was like an out-of-body experience. I could feel his bare skin against mine and the warmth our bodies created as they were pressed together as one. But it was almost like the young wolf that lay with him, wasn’t me. I no longer felt like myself. His lips trailed down the nape of my neck until they landed on the mark he left on the back of my neck. I trembled from his kisses as he kissed the mark; he traced his tongue across the mark, and I exhaled as my body relaxed for the hundredth time.I felt like I was losing control of myself; Nora was in complete control of me. She’s been wanting this for a long time, and I’ve been dismissing her desires with ice water. But the ice was only a temporary fix; she was hungry for him and now I was finally giving her what she wanted.I continued to kiss him; biting on his bottom lip and bringing it further into my mouth, allowing him to moan into me. The sounds of his moans made my heart leap wildly in my chest. I knew my face must h
Hannah’s POV“Were you ever going to tell me?!” I asked, storming into our bedroom.I paused at the door when I saw Sebastian’s half-naked body standing before me. My heart stopped in my chest and my breathing got caught in my throat. I stared around his broad torso, remembering the events from the night before. My face flushed from the memory of his arms wrapped around me; his lips kissing every corner of my body.I wanted to drape my fingers through his hair and kiss him all over the place. My heart was fluttering just thinking about it. I felt the heat rising in my face, illuminating my body and I making me feel like I had just come out of a sauna.“I wanted to wait for the right time,” he said, keeping his tone low and even as he stared around my reddened features.I blinked a few times, bringing myself back to reality and out of my trance. I swallowed hard, pulling my eyes away from his chest and meeting his blue gaze.“Caroline is dead…” I whispered; I wasn’t trusting the full e
Hannah’s POV“Over my dead body will I let you go see her, Hannah,” Sebastian hissed; I could see anger flashing through his gaze as he turned away from me.“But I…”“No, Hannah!” Sebastian growled. “You don’t have a reason to see her.”“She killed Caroline!” I argued.“And she’s being dealt with properly,” Sebastian told me.“I need to speak with her. I need to know why,” I told him, folding my arms across my chest. I wasn’t going to take no for answer with this. It wasn’t fair that he wasn’t listening to reason.“I know the reason why,” he told me, looking back at me. “Because she’s trying to get to me.”“Killing Caroline was her way of getting to you?” I asked with disbelief in my tone.He wasn’t even close to Caroline; that wasn’t making any sense.“Killing any of my servants gets to me,” Sebastian answered, he lowered his tone, and I could see him calming down.He was right; Caroline was still his worker. But none of it was making any sense to me still; I knew there had to be mor
