AMY'S POV

Once when I was still waiting tables, I overheard two women. One was complaining to the other about her husband's brother and how he was making life very hard for her. The other was sympathetic to her problem, but she advised her to be patient. "He probably needs some time to adjust to his new reality. Didn't you see it's just the two of them?"

"Yes, their parents are dead.”

"Give it some time, he's going to be very possessive at first. He will come around. You just have to be patient." She promised to take her advice. Now, I wish I could see that woman again and ask her if things did get better for her and her brother-in-law because I was tired of constantly having to be on my guard with Grace.

I first wondered why she was like this, but then I remembered that I would feel bad, too, if someone was making their only brother punish them all the time. Except, it was all her own doing. I wish she would stop acting out all the time.

  • Alpha Liam's Chosen Mate   CHAPTER SIXTY-SEVEN

AMY'S POV The silence that followed her announcement was loud, If a pin had dropped in that moment it would have been heard loud and clear. "What are you talking about?" It was the presiding Alpha that broke the silence. "Do you want to repeat what you just said?" "Yes, my Lords." She repeated clearly. Liam and I exchanged glances. "I, Grace Arlington, would like to challenge her, Luna of Crystalline." She pointed in my direction, and all heads swung in my direction. He was going to introduce me to the committee, but it seems like he didn't have to do that anymore. "So, Grace Arlington, when you say you're challenging Luna Amy Arlington to a duel over her position as Luna?" "Challenge her?" One of the other Lunas that was present protested, and I nodded at her in solidarity. It was eventually that I realized that the only reason she was doing this was because she saw it as a threat to other Lunas. It didn't sit well with her that her position could be threatened. In all of t

  • Alpha Liam's Chosen Mate   CHAPTER SIXTY-SIX

THIRD PERSON'S POV If Grace Arlington were to sum herself up in a few words, she would say that she was the embodiment of her name. She was merely an orphan when the former Alpha and Luna singled her out to adopt out of over hundreds of children. Grace only wanted a few things from life ever since she was small. She wanted to show Regina from her foster home that she ended up better than she did. To her, the only way to show Regina was to end up with the richest, hottest husband, also known as Liam. She really wanted to become her brother's wife, too. She would argue that they were not related, but if she was asked in public, she would say she was her sister. Her foster life was something she particularly didn't like to talk about, and it was after she was old enough to develop a crush that she began to hate it. Not that there was much to talk about, she was 8 years old when she was adopted. In fact, the matter of her adoption was not something everyone knew. When she clocked 18 a

  • Alpha Liam's Chosen Mate   CHAPTER SIXTY-FOUR

AMY'S POV The day of the banquet dawned bright and early. I had never seen Crystalline look so beautiful. It was like the city itself knew that there was something going on today. The day the whole werewolf community and the neutral world would know that I was married to Alpha and President Liam Arlington. I was nervous as heck, and honestly, if I had the opportunity to flee, I would. But I didn't. This moment would be our defining moment. First impressions last longer, and I wanted to put a good foot forward. I couldn't afford to make him look like an idiot for choosing me. I'm sure there would be a lot of talk because of my status as an omega, so I wanted to make him proud the only way I could, which was to impress the other alphas. That was the least I could do for him. It was like Maddy predicted, he had really good taste. The dress was a dream come true. It was everything I could ever imagine and more. It was a dress straight out of my wildest dreams. His jaw dropped when h

  • Alpha Liam's Chosen Mate   CHAPTER SIXTY-THREE

AMY'S POV The day got fixed, and as the day got closer, so did my anxiety level. It didn't occur to me until, like, one week before that I wasn't even the least bit prepared to meet his people. "Don't stress about it. The people that are going to meet you should be the ones scared, but they aren't." My husband assured me as I agonized over what I was going to wear to the banquet. The date had been finalized, and I was afraid that I would be found wanting or undeserving of the pedestal everyone was sure to put me on. I thought it was really unfair that people that knew nothing about me were going to judge me based on my appearance and mannerisms for one night. "Don't tell me not to stress when I'm already stressed about it, okay?" I snapped, and he put his hands up in surrender. "Don't go all Hulk on me." I narrowed my eyes at him, and he laughed. "I'm sorry, Bella Mia. You do have every reason to stress out." "What do you think the other women are going to wear? Are the oth

  • Alpha Liam's Chosen Mate   CHAPTER SIXTY-TWO

AMY'S POV "What?" "Let me rephrase that. I want to throw an event in your honor." "We can come back to that question later. You don't know when my birthday is?" I was completely thrown off by that question. Of all the things I expected him to ask, I never thought he wouldn't know when my birthday was. He only stared at me as if that would provide the answers. "My birthday? Liam, you don't know when my birthday is? After all the background checks you did on me." "I don't know why, but it never came up, I guess. I just realized that I might have missed your birthday, and I don't trust that you would actually tell me." "You're right. If you had missed it, I wouldn't have said anything about it." I said honestly. It wasn't even going to be because I was mad or anything, but I don't like birthdays. In the words of my sage mother, they were quite unnecessary. "Why?" "Because I don't think it's a big deal. It's just a birthday." He looked at me with that expression that he uses w
