I left the basement and returned to the master bedroom. Camila was still sleeping and Liam was trying to draw her blood.

“That won’t help!” I spoke. When I saw such a long needle pierce her frail arm, I felt like it was my heart being pierced.

“Have you found out anything?” Liam asked and shiny light flashed across his face. He could not hide the expectation on his face.

“Things are a lot more complicated than I thought but I think that you have found yourself a test subject!” I said and I saw him frown.

“What test subject? What do you mean?” he asked.

“There is a living test subject that you can work with, maybe it might speed up your progress. It is someone who has already been exposed to the damn light!” I spoke.
