Luther POV
I was a bit confused when I heard her say it, I was filled with both doubt and confusion. There was no way Selena had rejected me like that, I know that it was a bit much but for her to even think of that.
“What did you say?” I managed to force some words out of my mouth when I was looking at her, I was filled with confusion.
Selena was looking at me, I could see the tears welling up in her eyes and how she was fighting them back. I couldn't bring myself to think of how hurt she was or how alone she was feeling at that moment.
“I reject you Alpha Luther as my mate and my husband,” Selena said with all the strength in her body, she was not going to stand there and watch me make her do something that she didn't want to do.
Selena had thrown the check I gave her to the floor, I knew that there was no way for me to even make her come back to me after all I had done. But I was not going to stand there and watch her walk out of my life like that.
I turned to grab hold of her, but she was already out the door. I could see her walking at a fast pace trying to make sure that there was no way for me to catch up.
‘She is probably heading home,’ I thought to myself, nothing was going to make me think of something else for the moment, I wanted to make sure that I had settled everything before going for Selena.
“How dare she?! She is nothing but a nobody that you found and changed her life, why is she acting like that?” Anna was cursing Selena with everything she had in her, it was clear that she was not going to be saying anything other than the curses she had in her mouth.
“Son, don't tell me that you are going to let her walk away like that? She has insulted you and nobody can insult the Alpha and walk away with it, you have to make sure that there is no way for her to even insult you.” My mother spoke up, she was also trying to make sure that I forced Selena into taking the punishment for the accident.
I had enough...
“Mother, Anna, can I have a word with Adriane alone please?” I said calmly, there was no sign of hostility in my voice.
My mother didn't want to listen, she was trying to get me to do something about Selena. She continued with her complaints. “But son she just insulted you and you are not acting like..”
“Mother I asked you for a moment with Adriane and nothing else please,” I turned, I was making sure that there was no sign of rage in my voice to make sure that nothing was going to make her think that I was trying to be disrespectful, I looked at them with the anger in my heart and voice.
My mother didn't say anything, she stood there looking at me for some minutes before she made her way out of the room. Anna followed her closely, I was not going to say another word but look down at my feet.
I turned to look at Adriane, I was sure she was still stunned after everything that was happening right in front of her. It was a bit strange that there was so much drama happening in front of her like there was a sale happening in front of her.
“I will make sure that there is something done about the whole situation, I want you to rest easy knowing that there is nothing going to happen to you.” I was trying to make sure she was going to be okay and there was no way for her to even think of anything that would make her feel hurt in any way.
Adriane nodded her head slowly, I was not even sure what I was going to be doing when I caught up to Selena I would look for a way to make sure that I explained why it is important that nothing happens to Adraine.
“I will be back so please don't worry about a thing,” I told Adriane that I was coming back, I wanted to know where Selena had gone with all the wounds on her body.
I walked out of the ward to look in front of the hospital if I would be able to see any trace of her there, but there was no sign of Selena, I knew it was strange that she was able to move that fast and it was like she had left the area.
“I don't know where I am going to look for her now,” I was a bit stunned when there was no trace of her being close by and it was alarming.
“I was not blind to see that she needed help but she was going to act like there was no way she would be able to last with all those wounds on her body.” My thoughts were running wild when I looked around and there was no sign of Selena anywhere, I wondered if she had gone back to the pack house.I had felt something earlier, but it was clear she had not yet severed our tie as mates, even though she rejected me she didn't sever the tie but the only problem was that I could not feel her anywhere close by.
‘Strange, feels like I have lost almost all connections to her and there is nothing coming up, I wonder where she is now.” I couldn't put my thoughts on one thing, it was like she had vanished without a trace.
Beep... Beep…
I felt a slight buzz in my pockets, I took out my phone to see it was one of the pack elders calling me to know what I was going to do about the whole situation.
“Hello, Elder Nathan what might be the problem?” I asked even though I knew why he was calling me I wanted to hear him say it and he was not going to let me breathe until I made a decision.
“We are still waiting for your decision, there is no way we are going to let that kind of thing happen in our pack with nothing to show for it. It would give us a bad name and I know you don't want that.” The old wolf sounded like he was a crafty fox, I was not even shocked to hear him sound like that but I was still trying to make sure that there was nothing out of place.
“Dont worry Elder Nathan, I will give you my decision soon. I will have to hang up now.” I ended the call, I was not in the mood to explain anything to him and I knew that it was something that no one would even want to hear.
For now, I wanted to know where Selena was hiding.
Luther It was hard for me to even think of anything aside from Selena. The Pack had been waiting for me to make a move and lead them forward, but things were harder for me than I imagined. “My lord, if you are going to remain here like this, then there would be no way for me to do a thing.” A warrior of mine, Luca, spoke up. He was watching me, and this wasn't the first time in a few hours that he tried to get me out of the chair. “I will be with you, Luca. I am only trying to get my head together here so nothing would come and take it from me.” I couldn't even think of anything important enough to get me up from the chair. “I know you must be saddened, my Lord, but this isn't the best moment for you to be like this, and you should be somewhere out there so you would be able to handle it.” He was speaking like I was off duty for a long time, I was only down for a few hour,s and I was trying to avoid Father’s speech on how I am handling this well. If anything, I was not handlin
Selena “Wait, so you are telling me you are an important part of the Kingdoms? Like, there is a major role for you to play and make sure that nothing bad happens to all of us.” She was looking at me with gleaming eyes. I could tell that there was a lot on her head, and the way she was trying to hold it in and not ask was adorable. “I won't say that I am that important….” “Dont believe her, Krystal, she is that important. I wonder why you would always want to hide things like this from people?!” Viktor walked in with a smile on his face. He was looking at me with a book in his hand. “You are always looking for ways to make sure you downplay your importance in the packs in this kingdom, and you need to be held in high regard.” He wasn't going to let anything slip past him; he was always going to be the one who would try to get everything in order. I didnt know how he was going to be handling things like this for the long run, but then… “I know I am important to the King and the
Luther. It was not easy, trying to recollect all I had done to Selena and the harsh things I said to her. It was all taking a toll on my mind, knowing that I was not going to be able to explain myself to her. No matter how hard I tried, there was no way for me even to make things right again. ‘How could I be so blind?’ Looking back, I could see the times she was trying to tell me that it wasn't her and how I would ignore her. “Take this Four Million Dollars, your title as Luna will be reserved, but I want you to take the blame for Adirane.” I remember the last thing I told her that day before she made up her mind to leave. It was not an easy decision for her, but I was sure I helped her make it lighter to choose. “Even if I should go there to see her, Lord Viktor wouldn't even let me get a bit closer to her, so there is no way for me to even look her in the eye and tell her how I feel inside.”I was in my throne room alone, trying to clear things in my head, but the harder I tr
Selena. To say I was surprised to hear that there hadn't been a Lycan Queen for 500 years was an understatement. I was not even sure how it was even possible, but then the Kingdom had its laws and rules. “But why hasn't there been a queen? Was there something wrong, or didnt they fit the requirement of what was meant to rule?” I was looking at father, and it was not even clear from what they were saying, and I was trying to understand if there was something odd that I was not even following up on. Father shook his head. He turned to look at the elders at the table with a strange look on his face. “Remember when you turned 10, you were having weird dreams where you were seeing huge wolves and people were bowing to you.” He turned to look at me, and I could remember that dream. It was one of the weirdest I had in my entire life, and if it was up to me say it was strange beyond all knowledge. “I remember, but what does that have to do with what we are saying here?” I was looking a
Selena. I opened my eyes, strange. I had a dream where I saw Luther, and he told me that he was sorry for everything that had happened. It was a beautiful dream, filled with joy and hope. But it was what I thought it was, a dream, nothing more, nothing less. I got up from the bed, putting on my lace gown, and I walked to my balcony and looked down on the scarlet kingdom from my side. My eyes followed the lights straight to the Eastern lights; it was almost like a homing device was buried deep in my head for me to turn there all the time. “Luther…” It was still not easy for me to get him out of my mind; he was the one thing I couldn't forget or even get past. He was my everything, my world, my love, and my heartbeat. I would have done anything to make sure that nothing would take him away from me, but then there was no way for me to hold on to something that wasn’t me. But there was something a bit off. I couldn't tell what it was, but then I felt something odd, like a pull. ‘W
Writer’s Pov Everyone stood there, looking at Adriane. She couldn't say anything that would cover up the fact that she was in a bit of a pickle with Luther now, and written all over her face was fear. It was like she had lost a game she had kept in her control for a very long time. She was looking at the people there; it was not going to be an easy one for her to do. ‘Crap, I need to be…’ Her thoughts were cut short when Luther stepped in front of her with a stern look on his face.“Adriane, I want you to give me the answer to my question now,” Luther demanded. The entire hall was quiet, and they were looking at him as if he were some kind of force that had been released to show his rage. Adriane looked up. She was staring at Luther, and she knew there was no use for her to do anything else or even try to convince him. It was going to bring more trouble than she could juggle. She knew the only way now was to play back her place in his heart, and it was going to be harder than she
