LYRA’S POV

I laughed so hard seeing the flour in Alpha Alaric’s hand that I nearly fell off my chair.

Actually, I did slide halfway down the stool, clinging to the counter for balance as my stomach cramped from laughing.

“Kael, this is not salt” Alpha Alaric told Karl, holding up the flour.

“It looks like salt!” Kael shot back.

“No, it does not look like salt!” Alaric retorted “Salt is not powdered”

I was not too surprised that Kael had never seen salt before.

“You said the salt was white, and this was the only white looking thing I saw” Kael tried to defend himself.

“That is flour, Kael!”

I was gone.

I slid the rest of the way off the stool and dropped to my knees, laughing so hard tears streamed down my face, I genuinely could not breathe

“Oh my….,” I wheezed, “that’s why it tasted like… that!”

Kael stared at the flour container like he was offended by his own mistake.

Now I kinda felt bad for laughing.

Kinda.

Not enough to stop, though.

I finally pulled myself together, wiped my

  • Alpha Matchmaking System   71. Ambushed

LYRA’S POV What the hell was going on? Why were we suddenly ambushed? “She sent you here, didn't she?” Lance asked and smirked. “Do you think these petty tricks will work on me” Who the hell was he talking about? Who sent them? It seems the girl that Lance had also killed was working with the men. The guy in front of us chuckled “Don’t worry this will be the last time she will be bothered about you” “Don’t get too cocky” Lance, ran his hand through his hair, he was clearly not in the mood. “Oh.. Am I?” He raised his hand, signalling his men. The two men who were holding Ivy and me brought knives to our necks. “I suggest you don't do anything stupid, or they will end up dead” he threatened Lance. I could feel the cold steel pressing on my neck, with my hand held behind my back to prevent any movement. I could easily escape their clutches, my legs were free, and if I hit him in his groin. I could escape. I turned to Ivy, wanting to signal to her that we could take them dow

LYRA’S POV“Where are you taking me to?” Ivy asked for the hundredth time as I led her into the woods.“I want to show you something” I answered, watching Ivy’s forehead wrinkle was honestly entertaining.“If this were someone else I would assume they want to kill me”I scoffed “Please, like as though anyone can beat your ass”She laughed flipping her hair dramatically. “Are you trying to glaze me right now”“Maybe” I shrugged, as I kept on leading her further into the woods. We got to a clearing and I stopped, making Ivy halt beside me.“So where is it” she looked around.I smiled “Close your eyes”“Now I think you want to murder me” she joked.“Close. Your. Eyes,” I repeated, poking her forehead. She rolled her eyes “Fine” She proceeded to close her eyes. Once I noticed her eyes were closed, I stepped backward and immediately shifted, my bones snapping as they formed back, taking the shape of a wolf.“What is happening Lyra?” I heard Ivy call out to me nervously.“You can open you

LANCE’S POVI hurriedly placed my hands on Zurien’s shoulders and turned him away from the courtyard, forcing him to face me before he stepped any closer.“Want to have a drink with me” I suddenly blurted out, my voice louder than I had wanted it to be.He stared at me, confused at first, then exhaled a long sigh. “Sure.”I breathed a sigh of relief as we left the courtyard, moving into the house. We took two bottles of wine from the wine rack and went to the dining area.Popping one open, I poured it into two glasses and immediately downed mine.“Did something happen” Zurien leaned back in his chair holding a wine glass.I dropped mine on the table before pouring another one.“Nothing really”“You said you could not sleep, is it because of your mother” he asked and my grip on the wine glass tightened.“Does she still send people after you”I drank the entire contents of my wine glass in one go again.“She still does, but I would say the number of people she sends now has reduced, tha

LANCE’S POVMy eyes widened in surprise, I was shocked, never expecting this.No.No, she can't be.It was not possible.I staggered backward surprised, at her appearance, almost tripping on my own foot.Lyra…Lyra was the silver wolf. The legendary silver wolf.I finally connected the dots, the necklace, my father’s lover. Lyra was her daughter. My father had fallen in love with the silver wolf, and I remembered overhearing the pack warriors back then, that before she went missing, she had been pregnant, but no one ever spoke about it again.Which meant Lyra was that child.Did that mean Lyra… was my half sister?I felt my knees weaken at the realization. The only reason I had kept the sun necklace all these years was that I hoped it would help me find her, my father’s lover. Maybe she was still alive somewhere. Maybe she could give me answers he never did.But I never expected that I was going to find her daughter instead. Finally regaining myself from the revelation, it suddenly hi

LYRA’S POVI quickly unclipped my necklace from my neck and looked at both necklaces side by side.I stared at what was engraved on the back.Surely my eyes weren't playing tricks on me, because the dates and initials were the same. The exact same.“Alpha Lance” I called to him, my voice was low, I knew he must have been the one who had thrown the necklace. He was sitting on a bench, and I could tell he was in a bad mood, his aura screamed that he did not want to be disturbed. His head slowly turned to me, giving me a bored look, with his brows raised.“Your necklace, it's…” I could not finish my sentence because he interrupted me immediately when he heard me speak.“I don't need it,” he replied flatly.I blinked. “I didn’t say you did, I just…”“I said I don’t need it,” he repeated, harsher this time.Okay… rude. But also, I didn’t care. I would not have bothered him, but I had questions about the necklace.“… But I have the other half” I told him. That got his attention. His bored

  • Alpha Matchmaking System   66. Warning

I walked through the hallways heading to Professor Lennox's office, I didn’t know what to expect, hell I hoped it was not something relating to Macie, because at this point I was tired of shenanigans. My footsteps echoed as I walked down the hallway.I got closer to Professor Lennox's office and hoped for the best. When I reached his door, I knocked lightly, and I got a response immediately.“Come in,” Professor Lennox’s voice sounded calm, from behind the door.I pushed the door open and stepped in and saw Professor LennoxHe was sitting behind his desk, glasses perched on the tip of his nose, flipping through some thick files, and as soon as he saw me, he closed them gently.“Lyra Dale,” he said with a polite nod. “Please, have a seat.”I sat down slowly, placing my hands in my lap so he wouldn’t see how clammy they were.He folded his fingers together on the desk. “I called you here to discuss your performance.”My heart plummeted. “I swear I haven't done anything wrong, anything t
