Chapter 18

Alpha Nolan's mind was ticking like the clock. He was worried. It has been a while since Cassandra had gone. She should be back by now.

He warned her not to embark on going to Alpha Nemesis' Manor but she insisted she would go and come back unscathed.

A loud clanging of metal swept across the room. That should be Cassandra.

"Open, for her" he waved at one of the boy-soldiers standing close to him.

The boy walked in another direction instead of climbing up the ladder.

"Where are you going?" Alpha Nolan asked impatiently.

"I want to check who is there" the boy quickly replied, still going to his intended destination.

"I told you to open the latch!" Alpha Nolan roared.

"Yes sir" the boy shook visibly and quickly climbed up the ladder. There were metallic sounds as he opened the latch.

He climbed back down as Cassandra locked the latch giving off the usual heavy metallic sounds.

She came down afterwards.

"Why are you here?" she asked in amazement.

"Where else should I be?" Alpha Nolan
