Flint visited the priest’s lair often since then, this time with some of his slaves as escorts. But he no longer had to hide nor send spies to watch the priest anymore. Flint had it at the back of his mind that the priest was not trustworthy and could betray him at any time as he did Modi so he threaded with care while he was with the priest.

The priest in turn knew that he could not trust Flint with his secrets but since they had an agreement and Flint had something he needed so badly, he made it his mission to keep Flint close to him, no matter the cost.

Flint had a habit of making himself comfortable anywhere he found himself whether with friends or foes. So he was already comfortable with the priest though he knew nothing about the priest’s plans nor had he seen the slaves in the open field and the object they were building. The priest made sure to hide that part from him.
