May was gradually healing and her memories were returning to her. She could not remember her way back to the Northern aisles and so she remained with Modi in the Southern aisles as his luna but on her terms.
She no longer felt the love she used to feel for him. Modi was now living like she was the one ruling over him. He did not mind living like that so long as she remained with him. May played on Modi’s love for her; she seized it as an opportunity to gain favors.
Since Hayley and the priest’s disappearance, May had been avoiding Modi.
