Matt was sitting quietly on the bench outside the human's room. He was confused as hell. He expected his Alpha to be angry or worried or anything but not calm. It was like he didn't hear the news properly or it didn't register in his brain that a stranger was on the pack lands. A few years back, some werewolves from a neighboring pack stopped by our pack borders without the Alpha's permission. The Alpha was furious and increased the security on all borders. This is why his calm demeanor right now was so damn out of his character.
Matt had no idea what was going in his Alpha's head. He had been expecting some kind of yelling, instructions to Kira for the security of the pack, and a fully-fledged team to find the identity of the human. It was the standard procedure and the most likely action to be taken by the Alpha. Yet, the Alpha had done none of the above. Something about this human had struck his Alpha and he had no idea what it was. It has been 20 minutes since he went inside the human's room. What could he be doing in an unconscious person's room for so long?
Then there was this human. He had been worrying over her since the moment he found her. He didn't want her to die. He had no idea why but every bit of him wanted to protect that girl at all costs. He secretly hoped that she would wake up soon and complete the shift and live forever. However, he didn't want to get hurt by getting his hopes crushed. So, he told his Alpha that he didn't think she would survive.
He told the same thing to Theo too. However, something in his head kept screaming at him to not say that. He later realized that it was his wolf that kept scratching and screaming for thinking like that about her. I am going mad, he thought. Why would his wolf care for a human girl that he doesn't know? He tried to replay everything that has happened in the last 24 hours to see if something could give him a hint.
The only thing that struck him as unusual besides the unconscious girl was her aura. He felt it and he could still feel it. The presence of his Alpha and the stranger combined produced a different kind of energy in the medical wing. He could feel it humming in the air, slowly cocooning him like a safety blanket. Usually, the presence of powerful beings other than the familiar ones created havoc and a sense of fear. He knew that the human was powerful; he gathered that much from her aura. But why did she feel so familiar? Why was he not at the end of his wits instead of sitting quietly like a damn statue?
The only person who could answer his questions was his Alpha. He glanced sideways when he heard the sound of the opening of the door. Alpha Azraiel was leaving the human's room.
"Matt, meet me at the office in an hour. Appoint two best of our warriors to guard her room." Alpha said calmly.
Matt just bowed his head and left the medical wing. He started walking towards the packhouse slowly. He couldn't spot any change in his Alpha apart from his unusual calmness. One more hour, he thought. One more hour and all his questions will be answered.

Alpha Azraiel's brain has stopped working. He found his mate. He was a trueblood. The rarest of his kind. The truebloods were not born but made. It was a special status given to someone who had fulfilled all the conditions required to be a trueblood. It took years of dedication and deadly experiences to achieve the status of a trueblood. There were only three truebloods alive in the entire world. Their powers were considered beyond the imagination of a simple mind. They were not only stronger, faster and sharper than normal werewolves but they also had divine powers at their disposal. Every trueblood had a set of powers that used the five elements of nature and made them much more powerful than others. It was said that the Moon goddess didn't bless them with mates to keep a balance of power in the werewolf world. Other werewolves were not strong enough to mate with a trueblood and although a trueblood was not born by blood, an offspring of a trueblood was still likely to be much stronger than the other wolves. A trueblood's mate has never been heard of. The other two truebloods alive were also mateless.
Before these three were blessed as truebloods, there was only one true blood. The Alpha of the Black Onyx pack. He was said to be ruthless and dangerous. He slaughtered thousands of werewolves and humans with his divine powers for his amusement. Stories are that he was unable to cope up with the strength of trueblood powers and lost his mind. The Moon goddess, angry with his behavior decided to revoke his trueblood status. No one has seen him after that. Some say he is dead, some say he found a mate and lives on the other side of the world as a human. No one knows the truth.
The biggest problem in front of Azraiel was the protection of his mate. She was bitten. He didn't know if she could complete the shift or not. Even if she completed the shift and turned into a werewolf, there would always be a concern about her safety. The mate of a trueblood was never heard of. She would become a weapon for his enemies to hurt him and his pack. Other Alphas would never want him to produce offspring in fear of his powers.
Azraiel wanted his mate. The Moon goddess knew how much he wanted her. Every werewolf was supposed to find a mate after his or her 18th birthday. Azraiel received the status of trueblood when he was 19. He is 26 now.
All these years he has ruled as an Alpha but a part of him was always missing. His heart would clench painfully whenever he would see couples living happily. He was the protector and savior of the Blue Orchid Pack; their father, their Alpha. He was there to protect everyone and take care of them. He wanted that too. He wanted someone to take care of him like he took care of others. He wanted someone who would give him all his attention and be his for eternity. He longed for the hugs and kisses filled with love from someone. He too wanted love. The thought of a being made especially for you, only for you left a feeling of longing in his heart.
Now that he has found what he has wished for so long, she was bitten. A human has never been able to turn into a werewolf. The chances of his mate being alive were almost zero. It tore at his heart to see her like that. She looked so fragile and weak but her aura told a completely different story. The aura he felt in her room was nothing like he has felt before. That aura gave him hope; a hope that she could complete the shift and live. He was ready to cling to that hope till his last breath.

Matt was impatiently waiting for his Alpha outside his office. Yes, he was 15 minutes early but he was starting to get a headache from all the imaginary scenarios cooking in his head. He started walking anxiously in front of the office. What has the Alpha decided? Will he allow a human to stay in our pack and then die while shifting? His Alpha was unpredictable. Matt became the Beta two years ago when the former Beta died. This wasn't his birthright. He originally belonged to the family of Gamma, but the positions in his pack were decided on the basis of abilities and not birth. He competed for the position and he won. Theo, on the other hand, belonged to the family of Betas but lost the competition for the position of Beta. However, he won the one meant for the position of Gamma. Matt had to put his 200% in every task so that his position doesn't get questioned. Although he has proven h
Azraiel has just finished his meeting with Kira. He knew she was not satisfied with the information but it was necessary to do so. He didn't tell her about his human. It's not that he didn't trust her, but he couldn't take any risk with her safety. He just asked Kira to increase the security and discussed their other plans regarding the training of the wolves. His wolf has been constantly scratching at him to do something, anything. His mate was lying unconscious and there was nothing he could do. He thought about asking a witch for help but he knew better than to trust their species with such information. He decided to take shower before the pack meeting. He knew his pack members would be confused as hell but they would obey him. He took a shower and left for the packhouse. A few wolves were already gathered in the hall. Azraiel could feel their anticipation
Azraiel dragged the chair near her bed. She really looked like a broken angel. He took her hand in his and started tracing small circles at the back of her hand. His wolf immediately relaxed at the touch of his mate. Although there was a lot on his mind, the thought of holding her in his arms made him forget all his worries at that moment.Azraiel sighed audibly. He had no idea how he would manage this. His wolf was already so excited, would he be able to control himself and stay away from his mate? How would she react to the news of being surrounded by werewolves? Will she leave him after learning that he is a werewolf? Will his wolf allow her to leave? All these questions flashed in a bright neon color in his mind. The scariest one was his mate's reaction to him being a werewolf. He didn't know why she smelled like a supernatural but he couldn't sense a wolf in her. Even now, holding her hand, all he cou
Charlotte. Her name is Charlotte.Azraiel couldn't help but repeat her name over & over again in his head. His wolf purred at the prospect of marking this beautiful woman. He knew that he was staring and she knew that, but he just couldn't help it. Sensing that his mate was getting uncomfortable with his stare, he averted his eyes from her.Azraiel had no idea how to start the conversation. He had been to many grand conferences and meetings of both werewolf and human world and considered himself good at making conversations if not great. But right now sitting in front of his injured mate, he was a hell lot confused as to what to ask first. Should he start with how are you? But he knew she was injured. Maybe do you remember anything? Or should he just leave her to rest for a while?
Azraiel has just finished his internal rant about the well being of his mate. He even rehearsed the lines he would say while revealing his supernatural self to Charlotte. Thinking about what she must be doing right now, he decided to ask his beta to check up on her.Azraiel furrowed his brows when he couldn't get through Matt. It is odd, he thought. Matt almost never blocked him out. Shrugging his shoulders he released a breath and decided to go to the medical wing himself.Azraiel smelled him before he saw him. The air around the medical wing smelled like his beta. He continued to walk until he reached his mate's room. He peeped inside her room from the glass panel in the door. There he was, his beta Matt sitting quite rigidly beside Charlotte's bed. Both of them were quiet, just staring at each other intensely.Al
Azraiel rubbed his palms over his face and leaned back on the chair. He knew this would have happened, yet the tears streaming on her face were making it unbearable for him to just sit there and not hold her, comfort her.The existence of supernatural beings has been unknown to the human world. For them, supernaturals are nothing more than fantasy and fiction but the harsh truth is that in their history, every human that has learned of their existence has done nothing but harm them for their own selfish motives. Hence, in order to protect themselves, the werewolf king had long ago decided to conceal their identities and locations with the help of geographical barriers and magic. This is the very reason that the Blue Orchid pack is located in the depths of Rysterbian forest protected by several layers of magic.Whatever Charlotte just described to him was
Charlotte could see him tense when she finished her sentence. He was now standing beside her bed. Yes, Charlotte has always been a little shy and reserved but whenever she wasn't having a conversation, she was observing; which was mostly all the time. Right now, the man in front of her was trying so hard to pull on a poker face. If it were anyone else, they would have definitely believed him. But, it wasn't just anyone in front of Azraiel, it was Charlotte. Any doubts that she had about these men's 'super naturalism' flew right out of the window the moment she saw his reaction to her calling him an Alpha. Not only Azraiel, but Matt too had reacted the same way; like she shouldn't have known about them. Well, what did they expect? Charlotte removed her eyes from him. She knew he wouldn't leave until he explained everything or until he learned from her everythi
Matt quickly jumped to his feet when he saw his Alpha coming out of his Luna's room. He has been waiting for hours just outside the medical wing for their conversation to end. Although he could very well hear whatever they were talking about, he had decided to respect their privacy and had left them alone. It was around 8 at night and Matt was too eager to know about the next course of action to be taken."Matt...go home, have dinner and meet me in my office in an hour," Azraiel spoke briefly and dashed out of the medical wing. Once again, Matt was unable to deduce anything from his Alpha's face. Deciding that it was worthless to ponder on it, he turned and started walking towards his home, completely aware that a certain someone was following him.He knew she would step put out of the shadows before he could enter his house, so he slowed his pace. As soon as h
