Charlotte.
Her name is Charlotte.
Azraiel couldn't help but repeat her name over & over again in his head. His wolf purred at the prospect of marking this beautiful woman. He knew that he was staring and she knew that, but he just couldn't help it. Sensing that his mate was getting uncomfortable with his stare, he averted his eyes from her.
Azraiel had no idea how to start the conversation. He had been to many grand conferences and meetings of both werewolf and human world and considered himself good at making conversations if not great. But right now sitting in front of his injured mate, he was a hell lot confused as to what to ask first. Should he start with how are you? But he knew she was injured. Maybe do you remember anything? Or should he just leave her to rest for a while?
Azraiel has just finished his internal rant about the well being of his mate. He even rehearsed the lines he would say while revealing his supernatural self to Charlotte. Thinking about what she must be doing right now, he decided to ask his beta to check up on her.Azraiel furrowed his brows when he couldn't get through Matt. It is odd, he thought. Matt almost never blocked him out. Shrugging his shoulders he released a breath and decided to go to the medical wing himself.Azraiel smelled him before he saw him. The air around the medical wing smelled like his beta. He continued to walk until he reached his mate's room. He peeped inside her room from the glass panel in the door. There he was, his beta Matt sitting quite rigidly beside Charlotte's bed. Both of them were quiet, just staring at each other intensely.Al
Azraiel rubbed his palms over his face and leaned back on the chair. He knew this would have happened, yet the tears streaming on her face were making it unbearable for him to just sit there and not hold her, comfort her.The existence of supernatural beings has been unknown to the human world. For them, supernaturals are nothing more than fantasy and fiction but the harsh truth is that in their history, every human that has learned of their existence has done nothing but harm them for their own selfish motives. Hence, in order to protect themselves, the werewolf king had long ago decided to conceal their identities and locations with the help of geographical barriers and magic. This is the very reason that the Blue Orchid pack is located in the depths of Rysterbian forest protected by several layers of magic.Whatever Charlotte just described to him was
Charlotte could see him tense when she finished her sentence. He was now standing beside her bed. Yes, Charlotte has always been a little shy and reserved but whenever she wasn't having a conversation, she was observing; which was mostly all the time. Right now, the man in front of her was trying so hard to pull on a poker face. If it were anyone else, they would have definitely believed him. But, it wasn't just anyone in front of Azraiel, it was Charlotte. Any doubts that she had about these men's 'super naturalism' flew right out of the window the moment she saw his reaction to her calling him an Alpha. Not only Azraiel, but Matt too had reacted the same way; like she shouldn't have known about them. Well, what did they expect? Charlotte removed her eyes from him. She knew he wouldn't leave until he explained everything or until he learned from her everythi
Matt quickly jumped to his feet when he saw his Alpha coming out of his Luna's room. He has been waiting for hours just outside the medical wing for their conversation to end. Although he could very well hear whatever they were talking about, he had decided to respect their privacy and had left them alone. It was around 8 at night and Matt was too eager to know about the next course of action to be taken."Matt...go home, have dinner and meet me in my office in an hour," Azraiel spoke briefly and dashed out of the medical wing. Once again, Matt was unable to deduce anything from his Alpha's face. Deciding that it was worthless to ponder on it, he turned and started walking towards his home, completely aware that a certain someone was following him.He knew she would step put out of the shadows before he could enter his house, so he slowed his pace. As soon as h
Charlotte turned her head towards the clock hanging on the wall. She has been lying awake since 5 in the morning and it was 7 now. The pain in her leg has reduced, thanks to all those medicines she has been taking but it was nowhere near how it used to be. She doubted it would ever be like it used to be. She was sure she wouldn't be able to walk normally before two months. Feeling someone's eyes on her, Charlotte jerked her head towards the door. All she could see was a shadow from the small glass pane, but she had a good idea who it could be. A few seconds later, the door opened and revealed Azraiel. He looked fucking handsome in the classic white button-up shirt paired with black trousers and black shoes. His hair was still damp indicating that he had taken a shower, his eyes were still on the handle of the door and his lips looked incredibly soft. The roll
Charlotte had read 3 out of 5 books Azraiel has brought. As she kept on reading, questions began to swarm in her little head. She had to ask one of the nurses to give her a pen and paper so that she could write her questions down. The books she had read till now were more of an introductory nature. She figured the voluminous books she hadn't dared to touch contained the important stuff. From what she could gather, the supernatural world seems more like a secret community that only a few humans knew about. For Charlotte, it was nothing new. Growing up, it has always been her uncle and a few of his friends. Yes, she went to school and college but her introverted nature made it hard for her to make close friends. She has always been content living on her own. So the fact that werewolves avoided interacting with people outside their pack didn't bother her much. Moreover, the Blue Orchid pack had a population of more than 4000, making it unlikely to have a
Charlotte started reading the fourth book right after she woke up in the morning. It was past noon now and she was about to finish it. She skipped the parts that she had already read in other books. After reading them she had concluded something. Whatever idea the humans had about werewolves may not entirely be true but it was close. Sure, the seriousness and depth of this world were beyond human imagination but they have been successful in getting the tip right. Humans were right about the mates, about the shifting, about moon goddess, and the mindlink. When she read those werewolf romances back at her home, she had just dismissed them as nothing but fiction. Never in her wildest dreams had she thought that all of it could be true. Then there were the witches and vampires and dozens of other creatures that existed right under their noses without blowing their cover. While thinking about the werewolves, he
Matt was about to lose his mind. He has been feeling anxious since yesterday. His wolf was scratching at his mind and he had no idea why. He knew his wolf was trying to tell him something but he saw nothing out of the place. In fact, he has been feeling calmer than usual ever since he heard that their Luna was awake. But after everything that he has learned about his luna yesterday, he was itching to go to the medical wing and stay guard outside her door. Yes...Maybe that's why. Maybe his wolf is just concerned about his luna.Matt nodded to himself. Yes...that's it. For a second, he really was thinking about visiting her in the medical wing, but then his Alpha's pissed-off face from yesterday evening flashed before his eyes and he could swear his pulse increased with fear. What Matt did yesterday was disrespectful
