Oriana's P.O.V

As I trembled, I stepped away from the green-eyed creature, afraid that it might do something to me if I tried to scream for aid. "What are you?" I asked it, moving slowly toward the door. The beast laughed-a deep, almost human laugh.

"So, you still do not know? You've not been able to guess I came from you, and you're asking me such questions?" I froze when I heard what the wolf said. Its eyes were still shining as it shook its head at my question. "Or did the trauma of our unborn baby dying take your sense of reasoning away?" "Our baby...

I repeated, staring in bewilderment at the creature close to me in shock. Its smile widened as it waited patiently for my response. That was when I came to my senses. "This creature... you're my wolf." "You can call me Bella," she said, laughing lightly, humor shining in her eyes. I was in shock.

This was hard to believe. I just stared at this beast, trying to accept that what was happening was even possible. "It's not possible. It cannot be. I do not have a wolf,"

I said doubtfully, trying to convince myself otherwise. This made my wolf fume in anger. "So what do you want to believe-these idiots here, or your own mind and intuition?" she questioned sharply. I became quiet as I tried to put together the puzzle of what was happening. "You'd better believe it, Oriana. I don't have time to waste here," Bella said, drawing my attention to her again. "We have always been one-for a long time."

"You mean I've always had a wolf?" I asked, still struggling to process her words. Bella nodded. "Yes. I've always been here. I've heard all of your cries, every pain you endured. I kept an eye on you for the longest time, but I was scared to reveal myself or communicate with you. You finally reached your breaking point and were ready to start your journey alone-that was what connected us." She laid gracefully on the ground and crossed her paws together.

I now understood what she was talking about-Armand's plans to throw me out after everything I had done for him. That pain and heartbreak drove me to take the hard decision to leave him forever. The fire and determination that sparked that choice had connected me and my wolf.

After accepting my circumstances, I asked her about her originality. She was different from any other wolf I'd ever seen. Most wolves had red, green, or blue eyes-but hers were mixed with all the colors of the rainbow and had a silver lining. With happiness in her voice, she said,

"We are Emeralds-a special kind of wolf that has been extinct for some time. Emerald wolves are triggered by extreme emotions, and the wolf's bearer can cause fire. That was how I was able to reach you." Then her tone hardened. "After all, why did you allow that idiot to keep using you as his plaything?

After everything you've done for him, you were going to accept the bare minimum and just leave?" she asked as she rose to her feet. Her eyes blazed with fire, sending chills down my spine. "So what do you choose? Will you allow Armand to enjoy his life while you wallow away in sorrow? Or will you show him the wrath of an Emerald?" As she gave me those options, I didn't know what to say.

I was still shocked at the revelation, unable to think clearly. "I... I am confused," I said softly, lifting my eyes to stare at Bella. Before I could even blink, she was gone.

The twenty-four hours I was meant to spend with her were over. A loud knock came at my door-Armand and Jessica's voices echoing from the other side. "Oriana, open the door," Jessica snapped. I was still in bed, lost in my thoughts. When they knocked again, I stood and opened the door. Jessica walked in first, shoving me aside. She looked me up and down and asked coldly,

"Have you signed the papers yet? Or are you not aware that you're wasting our time?" Armand's voice followed. "Answer her," he said sternly, his eyes scanning the room. I didn't reply. Instead, I walked to where I had kept the papers, took them out, and placed them on the table in front of him. Armand snatched them from the table and flipped through the pages. "What is this?"

he demanded angrily as he saw they were still blank. "Why have you not signed these papers? What are you waiting for?" He screamed at me and threw the papers in my direction. Jessica came closer, sneering.

"She still thinks she's the queen of this mansion. Kick her out already!" When I heard what Jessica said, I bowed my head and replied softly, "The real reason I cannot sign these papers is because of the promise I made to your father-the late Alpha." Their expressions changed to confusion.

I continued, "I made him a promise on his deathbed, and I intend to keep it. Please, give me a few months to grant his last wish. Once I've helped you and your new bride get married, I'll leave forever." I lifted my head and looked at them. They stared at me for a moment, then burst into loud laughter.

"His dying wish? You must be crazy if you think we'll believe that," Jessica mocked. "Okay, then," Armand said unexpectedly, leaving Jessica shocked. "I'll grant your wish. You can stay here for a few months. When you're ready to leave, you'll sign the papers, walk away, and never look back." "Yes, Alpha," I said quietly, bowing my head. Armand's decision infuriated Jessica.

She turned on him, trying to protest, but he didn't listen. "It was my father's dying wish," he said coldly. "It's her duty to fulfill it and make me happy. It's better she willingly hands over her position rather than being forced to do so." Jessica gritted her teeth, then forced a smile. "Fine," she said through clenched teeth. Turning toward me, she added with a smirk, "Besides, she's too weak.

I don't think she'll even last three weeks." Armand chuckled mockingly as they left the room together. I watched them walk away, my fists clenched. That was when I heard Bella's voice echo softly in my mind. "You made the right choice, Oriana. Excellent.

After a long and stressful journey, Oriana and Lycan Prince Cole reached the pack's mansion. Oriana was held down from the carriage like a lady. Even when Cole was stained with blood and wounds, something Armand would never do. She came down, blushing. Cole gave her a peck on her cheeks before proceeding to question the vampire. He did not want to see the gruesome incident because he knew it was going to be brutal. So he excused himself. Sweetheart, aside, here may be too bloody for you to see. Could you excuse us while we finish up this ungrateful vampire? Cole asked Oriana, politely. Oriana looked at Cole sternly, with boldness in her face. My prince, I have been in front of the battlefield for years. I have seen wolves from other packs being brutally wounded and dealt with. So blood is not a problem. Cole laughed with intensity and happiness in his voice. Oriana was really a tough nut to crack. You don't have to tell me,
