“Yeah well I wasn’t planning to but I just need to be away from home, and in as much as you’re part of the people I want to be away from I just feel I’m safer here” Joan said dryly, hating that she had to admit that to him. He lied to her, he knew something she had every right to know and he still kept it from her.

“You’re welcome here anytime, my son just left for school and I’m leaving for work now so just feel at home” He tried to sound accommodating but she wasn’t buying it

“Why didn’t you tell me Hardin?” she asked and he looked dumbfounded, he didn’t know what to say because he was wrong about not telling her and if he could do anything to reverse it then he would.

“Why didn’t you tell me Grey cheated? Were you supporting him”” Her voice sounded shaky like she was trying to hold back her tears
