Chapter 29: It's ALPHA Rowan

Why did they smell so similar?

It couldn't be his perfume, since the one Rowan used was markedly different. Maybe it was just her senses that were confused. She had undergone a transformation of sorts, even if the effects were less noticeable now.

She shuddered when she remembered the strange hunger and hypersensibility she felt while in a daze after Rowan had rescued her.

"...I'm sorry about that. Aunt Marla says she's on her way," Luke said, and Adria began paying attention to his words again. "Let me get you more water."

Luke stood and held out his hand. When Adria attempted to pass him the empty glass, it bounced off her leg and shattered on the floor beneath them.

"I'm so sorry!" She stood, not realizing that a glass shard had flown into her sandal, wedging itself between her pinky toe and her fourth toe. "I'm making such a mess," she cried out, as blood poured out of her foot.
