 Silas - POV

"She is our second chance, mate, Silas," my wolf Ray purred happily.

"She's human, Ray. I'm doubtful. Maybe we should check with the pack elders. Our mate could be a late shifter or just a human," I said, trying not to inhale the sweet smell of jasmine that overwhelmed me.

"Is she going to be okay?" Ray asked with concern. We had used healing magic on her bruised arm and forehead.

"She should be fine, but we can have the pack doctor confirm," I replied. Since our mate died, Ray and I had learned to use basic healing magic, but we were still amateurs at treating someone.

"Alpha, this woman in your arms looks familiar, but isn't she human?" My beta, Yuri, approached me.

"Yuri, get the pack, doctor," I instructed, and she nodded before walking away. I carried the unknown woman to my manor.

"Ray, listen to me. Suppress this mate bond and keep your emotions in check. I'm suspicious about this woman. How did she enter Wolfland when it's secured by invisible magic to safeguard us from humans discovering us?" I said as I laid her in the guest room and went to get dressed.

"You're right, Silas. Let's ask Yuri. She seemed to know this human," Ray agreed.

The pack doctor examined her while Yuri waited outside. "Do you know her?" I asked Yuri.

"Of course, I do, Alpha! She's Hollywood's famous diva, Elena Hayes. I'm a big fan of her work," Yuri replied excitedly, her cheer too loud for my ears.

"Tone it down, Yuri," I winced at her enthusiasm.

"Sorry, Alpha, but you should see her perform. She's a refined actress. But I wonder how she came to our pack," Yuri said.

"Now that you mention the name, it does ring a bell, but this human actress is still suspicious," I said. Yuri sighed at my statement.

"Alpha, you're always dubious about everything!" she exclaimed. I grunted in response.

"The doctor said she will regain consciousness soon," Yuri informed me as she escorted the doctor to the mansion's entrance.

I entered the room, and Elena's sweet jasmine scent greeted my nostrils. Her forehead had been bandaged, and I tried not to stare at her petite frame.

"Do we have to reject our mate?" Ray asked.

"Yes, don't ask me the same question again," I snapped.

I should leave her alone and asked Yuri to look after her, but I couldn't physically leave the room. I felt calm next to her, and the mate bond soothed me. It had been so long since I had felt this way.

Elena moaned as she blinked her hazel eyes and looked around. She tried to sit up, one hand on her forehead as she hissed in discomfort.

"Are you in pain?" I asked, startling her with my voice. Her eyes snapped in my direction.

"You're the enormous dick guy who stood before my car," she said, staring at me. I felt irritated and amused by her description of my dick. I heard a chuckle, and it appeared that Yuri and Mac, my omega, had appeared.

"Huh?"

"Sorry for startling you, Ms. Hayes. We are friends of Mr. Ford," Mac said.

“Hmm… by the way, Mr. Enormous Dick… sorry, I mean… Mr. Ford, thank you for saving me." I saw Yuri chuckle as she covered her mouth. Mac tried to keep a straight face, but failed as he snorted with laughter. I growled at them, and they stopped instantly. I glanced at Elena, whose face was red from embarrassment.

"Rest up, Ms. Hayes. You hit your head pretty hard," I remarked, mocking her. She just gave me a blank stare. I mind-linked Yuri to look after her, then mind-linked Mac to follow me into my office.

"Our mate is attracted to us," Ray muttered.

"Right, it attracted her to my dick, not to us..." I growled at Ray.

"Why are you being an asshole? You liked her gaze scanning us from head to toe. Don't lie to me," he growled. I blocked him to stop him from disturbing me.

"Mac, find out more details about Elena Hayes, her business in this city, and verify her car," I said.

"What car?" Mac asked. I explained that I was chasing a rogue and killed him. As I came to stand on the territory's edge, I saw her car hurtling towards me. After the car veered off the road, I got her out. At one glance, I could see the car had problems. The airbags failed, and her brakes were not working.

"Could it be that she was trying to kill herself?" Mac pondered.

"Stop speaking nonsense. Elena wouldn't try to take her own life, but use a problematic car to do it," Yuri walked in, cutting off Mac's speech.

"I just proposed that it could be the case," Mac said, putting his hands in the air and shrugging defensively. Yuri growled at his remark. "Even I am a fan of Elena Hayes. I want to ask her so many questions." Mac said with a star-struck gleam in his eyes.

"Right, you are a fan who thinks she is trying to end her existence. Ha! Asshole."

"Shut up!" I growled, massaging the bridge of my nose.

"Why are you here? I asked you to take care of my mate," I said. Damn, my loose lips. Why did I mention Elena as my mate just now in front of Yuri and Mac?

"Wait, Elena Hayes is your mate!" Yuri jumped in excitement. Mac looked at me, surprised.

"I do not accept her as my mate. She is unknown in our world, and I will reject her. I can't risk her life," I answered. They both nodded in response, understanding why I was not ready to mate. I lost my first mate to an undiscovered mystery I couldn't solve.

"Alpha, she is sleeping. I think she needs time to recover," Yuri answered.

"As soon as she heals, send her away," I answered coldly. They both took off from my office to run errands for me. I turned on the TV to broadcast.

"Breaking News: Elena Hayes, the famous actress who came to Minnesota for work, is missing. Could Elena Hayes be quitting Hollywood after finding her fiancé cheating on her with another woman? As officers investigate Elena Hayes's whereabouts, stay tuned with us for more updates." I turned off the TV and made a drink for myself. I don't know why I feel uneasy hearing the report that Elena suffered such a thing recently in her life.

I walked up to check on her in the guest room where she was resting, but as I did, I saw a murky-looking silhouette seeking to touch Elena's sleeping frame, but before I could do anything, it vanished.

Yuri’s POVDrake’s face hovered just inches from mine, his breath hot against my skin. His dark purple eyes, tinged with gold, held a teasing glint, daring me to move first. Before I could say a word, his lips crashed into mine, stealing my breath. The kiss was gentle, yet filled with hunger, with love—a kiss that set my body ablaze. And then, he pulled away.“What makes you—” I started, but he silenced me with a finger to my lips.“It’s our first time,” he murmured, voice low and deep. “I don’t want it to happen in some random witch’s hospital bed.”Before I could even process his words, a surge of magic enveloped us. In the blink of an eye, the scent of healing herbs and medicinal stones vanished, replaced by the luxurious warmth of our bedroom. My back hit the soft mattress, and I barely had time to take in my surroundings before his hands were on me.“Where—”“Our home.” His voice was thick with promise. His gaze darkened as his fingers slipped under my hospital gown, teasing up m

Drake—POVThe night was quiet, the kind of eerie stillness that made my wolf restless. I stood watch with my team, the crackling fire casting shadows across our tense faces. Yuri was resting in the tent, and Mac had just joined me, taking a slow sip from his flask."Your wolf is back, huh?" he mused, offering me the drink.I took it, nodding. "Yeah. Feels like I’m myself again, thanks to that fight with that asshole Eric."Mac smirked, taking another swig. "So… you’re not gonna ask?"I arched a brow. "Ask what?""Yuri’s not my mate. Emery is," he clarified, his voice steady. "The moment my wolf surfaced during your fight with Zane, I knew."I shrugged. "Figured."Mac scoffed. "No wonder you look so damn smug."I rolled my eyes. "How’s Emery?"His smirk faded, replaced by a shadow of concern. "Not great. The toll of fighting, being under that bitch’s spell… it’s wearing onher." I smirked, letting the satisfaction simmer beneath my rage.“You look tired, Lucian,” I hissed, my voice laced with venom. His furious gaze burned into me.“You’ll scream and beg for mercy,” he sneered, his tone thick with arrogance. “Just like your father begged me to spare his children.”A violent tremor ran through me. My blood boiled.Lucian chuckled darkly, savoring my reaction. “Do you know what I did first? I killed your sister while your father watched. He screamed until his voice was raw.” His grin widened. “Then I took your brother. He was helpless, weak—just a half-blood dragon with no powers. He couldn’t save her. What a waste.”I clenched my fists, nails digging into my palms.“And your father?” He tilted his head mockingly. “He called your name, praying for your safety before I—”“Ahh!”My
