Defiance In Action

I wasn't entirely certain it was his voice, but I hoped it was. He should fear me. A decade of enduring blows in my pack had prepared me for this moment. I stayed in shape and tried to teach myself to fight back in every way I could. Back then, I was just a human - weaker, slower, smaller.

Now, I had discovered my wolf. She was eager, primed for action. Together, we were going to save my family by working as a team.

"Choose. Your. Form." I kept my gaze locked on him, challenging him to back down.

"You're from Wolf Bay, right?" he inquired.

"I'm from nowhere special," I replied.

He smirked. "You've only recently started learning to shift, and I know your alpha deliberately keeps you weak. If you do this, I won't hold back. Your body might give out before you even surrender."

"I'll take my chances."

"Alright. We shift. We fight as wolves," he declared.

My wolf practically rejoiced. She was itching to break free, eager for action. While it was true we lacked the training others had, I wa
